The Big Bang Theory season 2

The season with Penny's gift to Sheldon. Loved it ^_^

1 The bad fish paradigm

It starts exactly where we left off, with Leonard and Penny back from their date. He thought it was good, but his friends say that her 'let's take it slow' is a bad sign. Actually, Penny is worried that he might get bored with her because she's not as smart as he is. She talks about it with Sheldon and asks him to keep it secret. He's not at all comfortable with secrets. And he also learns that they're friends.

So, to keep her secret - that she didn't really graduate from college - he moves out. He stays with Raj, until he insults Aishwarya Rai, then Raj delivers him to Howard. Then Howard gives him valium and gives him back to Leonard. So Sheldon ends up telling Leonard everything, and Leonard suggests to Penny she goes to college now, and she takes offence that she might need a degree to date him.

2 The codpiece topology

Penny goes out with Eric, so Leonard thinks he should move on too. Leslie knows he's not with Penny because Howard texted her, and she tells Leonard she wants to try having a relationship, so they try. Sheldon is not happy, he and Leslie hate each other. He makes them break up arguing her line of theoretic research is not valid.

The four guys go back to the Renaissance fair, only this time Sheldon is dressed as Spock so he can tolerate the historical inaccuracies.

3 The barbarian sublimation

Penny is upset because she thinks her life is a failure. Sheldon introduces her to a videogame that she likes so much she buys the game and keeps asking Sheldon for help. Even when he's at work. She's totally engrossed in the online game, addicted to the online game life. She understands she needs help only when her character accepts an invitation from Howard's character :p

4 The griffin equivalency

Using something that Howard built, Raj discovers some planetary body that gets him on People magazine. He gets really obnoxious and his friends can't stand it. He gets a new office and an assistant, and Penny goes with him to the celebration.

Sheldon states that he's not insane "my mother had me tested"

Charlie Sheen makes an appearance as someone who has been on the cover of People magazine.

5 The euclid alternative

Leonard is working nights so Sheldon wants Penny to drive him to work. He's so irritating she leaves him on the street. Howard does the same on his scooter. Raj gets fed up with him too. All the others make him an appointment to get a driver's license, but he's such a menace on the driver simulator that he gives up and decides to live in his office instead, until Leonard will tell him that he's finished with his nightly experiment.

6 The Cooper-Nowitzki theorem

Ramona, a grad student, flirts with Sheldon and invites herself to his place bringing him food. They get along great, since she worships him and basically serves him. Under her 'guidance', he works all the time now. She even has him miss out on his Halo nights, and everything else too. No more time with his friends, no more comic books or tv time, or dvds, she's always there, making him work all the time... she even sleeps on the couch, he can't ilve anymore and asks Penny first then Leonard to get rid of her, but they don't. Finally he makes a breakthrough and proves his theory (or completes it in some way), and she asks he adds her name to the name of the theory. Hearing that she wants him to share credit is what ticks him off and he throws her out.

7 The panty piñata polarization

The guys learn from Penny of a reality-show for aspiring supermodels. Howard wants to find the house they're staying at. He and Raj find it and knock at the supermodel's house as cable-guys.

After Penny touches one of Sheldon's onion rings and then sits on his spot, it's strike three and she's banished, so she starts a war with him. To put an end to it, Leonard gives Penny Sheldon's kryptonite, his mom's phone number... it's an educated guess considering that right afterwards his mom called and made him stop and apologise to Penny.

8 The lizard-Spock expansion

Howard picks up a girl by telling her she could drive a rover on Mars, and he makes it stuck on something, and then erases every trace that it was his fault. Leonard gives this Stephanie a drive and they hook up, and keep meeting, but Howard keeps calling her. Eventually they tell him they're dating and he hates them, but when Stephanie arranges a double date with her roommate Lisa all is forgiven.

The rover finds great discoveries, but since they wiped out all evidence of Howard doing something to it, he won't get credit.

9 The white asparagus triangulation

Sheldon finds dr Stephanie the only tolerable one of all Leonard's girls, and he tells Penny this. He intrudes on Leonard's date 'to help him', and keeps doing it. He stalks her facebook page and hacks Leonard's to change his status without telling him.

10 The Vartabedian conundrum

Their roommates contract needs to be signed by Stephanie too... then Stephanie meets Penny in her usual dress code - meaning very short pants and a light top. Leonard and Stephanie are basically living together, his room is full of her stuff, and he didn't even notice until Penny made him. He's not at all comfortable with it, doesn't like the clothes she buys for him, and wants to tell her to move out and slow down, but they have lots of sex and he never does.

11 The bath item gift hypothesis

David Underhill won a grant for discovering something in Leonard's field, and he's handsome too. And cool, even plays in a rock band. David and Leonard spend lots of time together, so he gets to know Penny and they go out together. They spend a lot of time together until she sees pictures of his wife on his phone.

Penny casually informs Sheldon he got him a present for Christmas, so he goes out and buys her a series of bath/perfume stuff to choose from, depending on the value of her gift, but then he opens her gift, which at first appeared to be a simple napkin, turns out to be a signed LLAP message from Leonard Nimoy, written on a napkin that he used when he happened to be in her restaurant!!! So he now possesses his dna   "all I need is a healthy ovum and I can grow my own Leonard Nimoy"

He givecs her everything he bought and even hugs her.

12 The killer robot instability

Krypke at the university challenges our boys at a killer-robots fight after they built one, but Howard's down after Penny got fed up with him and told him he's pathetic and creepy and will never get any girl.

To get Penny to talk to him, Leonard reminds her she owes him one after she sent him to Kurt in the first episode. She apologises but when she's out the door he cries so she goes in again and he keeps crying and telling her stories about himself. She consoles him but then punches him when he tries to kiss her.

Krypke's robot smashes their robot to pieces.

13 The friendship algorithm

Krypke has control over a lab Sheldon needs so Sheldon tries to make friends with him, but it doesn't seem to work, so he tries to approach the 'how to make friends' dilemma. He has a questionnaire for his friends, he reads books for children and makes friends with a little girl before Leonard drags him out of the bookstore. He tries going rock-climbing with him and passes out. Still, Krypke comes back to his place to eat, so Sheldon has to choose which one of his friends he should let go, but then learns that Krypke has no control over who gets to use that new computer, so Sheldon chooses Raj over him again, at least Raj loves monkeys (and trains too)

14 The financial permeability

Penny is late with payments for rent and stuff, so Sheldon gives her some of his own saving money with a simple "take some". She feels under pressure to give it back, and has serious money problems. Leonard finds out she paid lots of money to help out Kurt, and he never gave it back. Leonard wants to get it back for her. After much inistence the others go with him. Kurt writes "I owe Penny $1800-Kurt" on Leonard's forehead, but hides it with a cap. Penny gives Sheldon his money back when Kurt gave her hers back with no explanation so now she thinks he's changed and goes out with him.

15 The maternal capacitance

Leonard's mother is coming to visit. She's a psychiatrist, but her "primary field is neuroscience". She goes along splendidly with Sheldon. She says Leonard's younger brother Michael is a professor at Harvard and his sister is close to curing diabetes. When Leonard was ten, he built a hugging machine. She loves her time with Sheldon while Leonard drinks with Penny. They 'almost' have sex until he starts talking about his mother...

16 The cushion saturation

During a paintball war among departments, Leslie kisses Howard and they hook up. He keeps seeing her and getting advantages at work, but has to do as she says. (It was funny when she yelled "he's got company" to his mother )

Penny accidentally shoots paint on Sheldon's seat. She has the cushion cleaned at her dry-cleaners, but he still doesn't like it.

17 The terminator decoupling

The guys go to San Francisco for a symposium, and because Sheldon is there they are going by train.

Famous Summer Glau from The Sarah Connor Chronicles enter the compartment, and Howard and Raj want to talk to her. Raj makes a trip to the bar because of it. Raj talks to Summer for a while, and they both enjoy it, until Howard makes him aware that he drank a non-alcoholic beer and he can't talk to her anymore. Howard takes over and the poor girl has to suffer until he gives up. Leonard tries then.  (When did he break up with Stephanie? That sms was really how they broke up?)

Sheldon forgot his flash drive at home, so he has to call Penny and have her email him his essay/research/paper and it takes a long long time.

18 The work song nanocluster

Penny started a business making "flower barrettes" for her hair. Sheldon suggests marketing online and she actually asks Sheldon for help. The others get involved, Leonard makes a website and in no time she has an order. Sheldon suggests expanding their market. Penny: "how are flower barrettes gonna appeal to men?" Howard:"we add bluetooth"  Sheldon:"brilliant. men love bluetooth" and "everything is better with bluetooth"  which might actually explain why they are doing all sort of absurd things with bluetooth.

Someone ordered 1000, and Penny's worried because Leonard put "one day rush delivery" on the website, like Amazon, and now she has to make 1000 in a day! They all work together.

19 The dead hooker juxtaposition

The apartment upstairs is vacant and a new blonde rents it: Alicia. Leonard, Howard and Raj are constantly at her beck and call and Penny is jealous. Alicia's also an actress, but more successful than her. Penny tells her to not take advantage of them and they fight. After Alicia gets the part of a prostitute who gets killed on CSI, she takes up with a producer of the show and Penny is once again dining with her boys.

20 The Hofstadter isotope

In anything-can-happen Thursday Penny joins them to the comic book store to find something for her 13-year-old cousin. Stuart works there and drew Penny quite well, so she gives him her number. They go together to his art opening, and she even invites him in when they get back, "to get a cup of coffee", and he really thinks it's about coffee. Sheldon appears and they both end up in her apartment arguing about Batman until she falls asleep. Jealous of him, Leonard asks Howard to go to a bar to pick up women, but then the only one of them to find a woman for the night is Raj.

21 The Vegas renormalization

Howard had remained friends with benefits with Leslie, but now she dumps him, so Leonard and Rajtake him to Vegas. Leonard and Raj go to a bar and meet a prostitute and want to hire her to give Howard the whole girlfriend-experience to cheer him up. He realises the truth but is thankful anyway.

Alone, Sheldon wants to eat Indian food with peanuts and dairy products, everything he can't have with the others, but he forgot his key and is locked out. Penny doesn't have the spare key. Sheldon eats with her and sleeps in her bed, even has her sing Soft Kitty.

22 The classified materials turbulence

Stuart is going out with Penny again, and both of them ask Leonard for advice. He gives them bad advice and then feels guilty, but that didn't really matter, they drank wine and kissed, but then apparently she called him Leonard and it was bad.

Howard built a high-tech toilet seat that is going to be used in space, but discovers a little error and enlists the others to help. Howard gave the space station his solution, but it wasn't really foolproof ...

23 The monopolar expedition

The president of the university calls for a meeting with Sheldon, and offers to send him on an expedition to the North Pole. Sheldon doesn't want to go, he's an indoor guy who doesn't like the cold, but he could make discoveries if he goes... Sheldon offers the boys to join him: Howard is against, but then the other two think of the scientific advantages, so they decide to all go.

Penny gifts Leonard a blanket with sleeves and gives him a long hug, but doesn't tell him she wishes he wasn't going, so he goes.
