The whole plot: to avoid peace, someone murders the grandmaster of all the clans and then blames it on Cage, so everyone’s after him and his men, and they have to fight for their lives against: other warriors, some kind of mutants, hot girls, and worm-zombies (you cut a zombie in two, you get two zombies).
If that wasn’t more than enough: Cage acts more like an American soldier than a ninja: “back in fifteen”, “we’re leaving in ten” :-/ ; he has a magical necklace that shows him his family; the other warriors throw fireballs; the girl, who I thought moved better than the others in the fight scenes is the first to die; my second favourite was the big black man, and he sacrifices himself staying behind with the zombies to let them escape: totally unnecessary I think, followed by a terrible scene when Cage yells his name for like forever. The clan keeps quarreling like children, specially the two brothers: “I’m the older brother, father should have left me in charge!” : embarrassing. The big revelation (not really) at the end, the real murderer: “master always loved you more” ... embarrassing. The enemies are hit and fall, while Cage and his brother Surge survive, despite Surge has been stabbed to the chest, run through with a sword, poisoned, and yet he makes it home alive...
The acting was totally absent, the casting was what it was, the lines were boring and unimaginative, every attempt at comedy was sad. Let’s not even talk about the light-sabers!
The special effects were actually not bad at all, one could even say they were cool.
I also didn’t like the close-up shots on the blood spillings, but at this point that’s totally unimportant.
This isn’t one of those B-movies that sometimes can be enjoyably funny in a weird way, you know, ‘it’s so bad it’s rather funny’ kind of thing. No, this one was not like that , not for me. Because the actors were wrong, because it was never funny....
I will not watch it again.
