Taking turns by J A Huss

The turning series - book 1
I kinda liked it, it was intriguing, well written and it did have an explanation. It actually did have an ending that explained things up, and it did have a plot. I mean, it was all about sex, of course, a bit kinky and rather detailed, but at the end it did make sense. What I most liked was the structure of the book: every chapter is narrated by a different character - I mean, the four characters taking turns - and that’s very interesting and intriguing. What annoyed me most where the grammar errors here and there, words misspelled or repeated twice or in the wrong order, I really don’t like that in a book (I bought the e-book, not sure about the printed version).
The most intriguing part was actually the strange relationship, very strong friendship between these three men.
The plot is that three men disgustingly rich sort of hire a girl to play their game: they give her a place to live, give her expensive gifts, and decide which days of the week each of them gets with her.
It all happens at the Turning Point sex club. Rochelle has been their girl for three years, but we don’t see her. We meet Marcella, or Chella, as she takes her place without telling them first. Quin finds her in Rochelle’s room and has sex with her not knowing that she’s not her. When he finds out he’s shocked and angry and calls his friends. Bric calms him down while Smith takes her home. That’s how it starts. Smith liked her and went back to see her. At first she tries to pull back but then she gives in because she wants the sex. They offer her the same contract and she signs it like Rochelle did. She’s a senator’s daughter, though, she doesn’t need their money or their gifts, and neither of them understands why she agreed to it. They explain her their rules: the one who likes her the most doesn’t get to touch her: Smith. Number Two is the one who can have sex and get to know her better: that’s Quin. Bric is the one who takes her to parties and can only have sex with her if Smith is present. She likes it, they are very clear every step of the way that if she doesn’t want it anymore she simply has to say so and walk away, but she doesn’t. She has a secret past she won’t tell them, and an estranged relationship with her absent father. Her mother is dead, three years already.
Quin is still in love with Rochelle but their rules forbid him from going after her, although none of them has any idea of where she is. Bric is only interested in the kinky sex, and Smith gets more and more attached, falling in love with her.
After only a month together, she agrees to have sex with all of them together, even if now Smith is no more sure about it, wanting her all for himself. The others would agree but she wants it so they go through with it. They all do it together, touching each other and having sex with her, and she likes it, until the dramatic end, when she pass out and starts being delirious. They take her to her room and comfort her until she sort of calm down. She’s not ok though, and when Smith asks her again why did she start the whole thing she loses it, she reveals that she and Rochelle planned it, that Rochelle went away because Bric told her to have an abortion, and then she storms out with them following her. They run after her, Quin wanting to know more about Rochelle, all of them worried about her. When they get on the street she seems to calm down because she doesn’t want a public scene, until her father shows up and she loses it for good. She starts crying and shouting at him, and it all comes out - well, a part of it, but enough to understand why she’s so troubled. She had said already that her mother was a bit crazy, but now it turns out she was more of a fanatic, which means dangerous-crazy. She not only took her to churches or missions around the world, that was the clean part. Her mother punished her and made her feel wrong and tortured her since she was little, making her feel that sex was wrong, and once the woman even asked, begged some women in Sudan to mutilate her and Chella was spared that only because she had a boyfriend who stopped them with the help of her father and uncles. She yells it all in her father’s face, shouting how much she hates him for never caring and never stopping her mother.
Lucinda, a member of the club, has been her sex-therapist for years. Together with Rochelle they all planned it together, and this is the end of it. She doesn’t want it anymore, she liked it sexually but it also confused her. She did what they think are the last steps she needed to recover: play out her dark fantasies and confront her father.
Just to be clear, the book didn’t imply that she liked that sort of stuff because of her troubled past, what it implies is that she had conflicted feelings about it and couldn’t make peace with the fact that she liked sex because of her childhood trauma.
It ends with a chapter each: Quin leaving messages on Rochelle’s phone, Smith and Chella in love and now a steady couple, and Bric at the club, answering a call from Rochelle where he hears a baby crying and she simply says: “just tell him I’m sorry” before hanging up. I knew she didn’t get an abortion, that’s why she left.
I’m sure the next book will be about Rochelle.

Rizzoli and Isles season 4

1- We are family
At a parade an ex-congressman’s daughter is killed by a sniper. Maura’s mood has been bad since she gave her kidney. She and Jane spy on Kayla then Maura talks to her. Kayla thanks her and gives her something: a necklace Patty Doyle gave to Hope when she was pregnant. Casey comes back to Jane, and he’s fine and they spend the night, then he tells her that he’s going two months in Afghanistan. Frankie is promoted.
Erika cared about children’s health but her sister cared about money and killed her.
It ends with Lt Sean back with Angela :-)
2- In over your head
Maura’s wearing the necklace. She also paid 550$ for her shoes.. crazy.
A girl is dead ( on tv the detectives always want the new case and hate to leave it to another department... not easy to imagine this happening in real life )
The new boss is Rafael Martinez. They worked together one time but they didn’t part on good terms.
Kayla tells Maura and Jane that she’s worried for Hope, some men threatened her somehow. The feds are investigating Hope and also surveilling Maura.
The girl was a student working on an investigating piece that got Brenda killed. Martinez got Jane’s c.i. killed.  The ‘Dirty robber’ place has changed :( Jane tells Maura it was her fault if her ci got killed, the girl wasn’t ready. Maura shows Jane Doyle’s files, she thinks Hope took Doyle’s money. They bring Hope to see Patty in prison.
Doyle: “my father would have killed you both” then he simply says that he’ll never plead guilty. That’s it? Why didn’t they ask him about the money, or the Fbi or something?
They find who killed the girl, and Frankie stalls him for a few seconds until they arrive, and Jane does the stupidest thing: as they arrive she screams the name Frankie yelling to get away, but of course he’s held hostage. Still, he looks the best he’s ever looked in the show, and confidently takes him out by himself :)
3- But I am a good girl
TJ’s christening: the priest that Tommy ran over at a crosswalk is doing it. The thing is interrupted because Maura smells something and is sure that there’s a body there, in the baptismal font. Lydia’s fiancée is present. Tommy: “I should have picked a better mom for him” - Lydia: “you didn’t pick me. We got drunk and did it in my car and then you passed me on to your father remember?” :-/
Angela: “I’m sorry father, we’re usually not like this” :-p
Korzak has a garden, he grows tomato, basil, beads...
The full name is Thomas Edward Rizzoli. Tommy didn’t file custody papers so he has no right to TJ. The new guy proposed to Lydia and plans to take them to Texas. Angela wants Lydia and Tommy to get together so she won’t lose her grandson. Frankie calls Lydia and tells her to come to Jane’s. Jane: “that’s a terrible idea” - “you’ve got a better one?” - “no” = it was a funny scene, how she said it
Poor Isabella was four months pregnant :( A gang leader wanted Isabella but she had a boyfriend and they were both in danger so his father killed her.
Maura and Jane invite Lydia to Jane’s house so she’d meet Tommy, and they plan to leave them alone but they start fighting.
 The budget cuts worry everyone.
Maura finds out that Stuart has ‘severe allergies’ so they come up with a new plan. They bring Joe Friday to them, because Lydia loves dogs but he can’t be around them :p So she goes for a walk with Tommy and Jane and Maura babysit TJ :)
4- Killer in high heels
Maura takes Jane to an ‘annual fund raising gala’ full of doctors like her, an hostess who tries to get Jane to donate (1000 already) and people who take her for a waitress. Jane wants to go but Maura is having a lovely time so she stays. She chats with a man who takes her home... and she’s home at 5am with a big hangover in the morning. Human remains are found on a small site, for Maura to identify. A man is dead, and Maura goes with the same clothes of the night before, and the dead man is the guy who drove her home. They have to bring her in for questioning. She can’t remember anything. He tricked her, he was a bouncer with a criminal record. They had to process her: take her clothes, do a rape kit.. everything is against her, and they have to arrest her. She was drugged to get her ID to break into the bones storage to steal the bones of a dead girl. The host of the charity benefit was the poor girl’s baby’s father. He’s the murderer, they arrest him and Maura’s back, with style.
5- Dance with the devil
Patty’s trial ( he was once LT Sean’s c.i.) - Jane and Maura talk in her yoga room. The last of the witnesses is dead. Doyle is out on bail. Maura tells him: “I wish Jane had killed you”. Doyle was responsible for the death of Lt Sean’s family. Sean wants to kill Doyle personally but they stop him and Maura has Hope testify against him and it’s hard on both but she did it.
6- Somebody’s watching me
Jane’s apartment has no running water so she’s in a bad mood. She’s grumpy and bumps into this Claire girl who keeps saying that she did it on purpose. A video about her coffee-incident appears on the internet called “mean detective Jane”: they all laugh watching it but not Jane.
There’s a cute new cop and Frankie and Frost compete for her attention.
Daniel’s body is found in an old man’s basement. Old man Leroy says that his stuff keeps disappearing, he keeps a lot of things down there. Frankie and Frost play with the stuff they find there.
Maura makes a video showing how kind Jane is. Claire filed a police brutality complaint against her. It’s on the news and Tommy is interviewed in her apartment, and she’s sued for half a million! Since it happened before she was on duty it’s a civil matter, so she’ll have to face it on her own. A lawyer wants 25.000$ but Jane finds out it was all set up to get her to sell her apartment. Claire and Gilbert wanted to get her apartment and get arrested for fraud.
Someone breaks into Leroy’s basement. Leroy had many valuable things down there and his neighbour had been stealing them to sell them online.
A man wanted to recover a hard-drive and killed Daniel and almost killed Leroy.
Maura posts a video on Youtube: “kind detective Jane” but it’s not nearly as successful as the other one, of course :p
7- All for one
Jane has hurt her ankle but doesn’t want Maura to call 911 so she’s like “let me look at it or I’ll speed dial 911” - “I hate you” - “you don’t hate me you just hate feeling vulnerable”. She has a sprained ankle. Frankie to Maura: “you know the only way to get her to a hospital is to knock her out right?” then he helps her hop inside :p Maura gives her a new shoe, a protective boot.
Jane sends mushy emails to Casey :)  Maura goes to get her crutches and Jane hugs her ankle all ‘mommy mommy mommy’ :p Jane tripped while jogging. Rafael Martinez takes her car. It could be torn ligament. Frost is flirting with the girl at the coffee place who called Jane a bitch.
Rafael sees her while she’s talking to Casey on her computer.
A teacher is dead. A girl in a coma had sent him a provocative mail, then she tried suicide using pills in the house. Actually he sent it from her phone because he was the one demanding sex for grades.
Maura thinks that Rafael likes Jane :p
There’s a hit-and-run and they find the car.
The photo was innocent, made with her girl friends, and he used it to discredit her, and she committed suicide after that. They question her three best friends. They all say the same story, that he tried it on them all and they ran away with a car and hit him by mistake, not wanting to kill him. They keep to their story, all of them saying that they did it and they’re willing to go to jail, so they can’t be arrested. All three of them go to Samantha trying to get her to wake up. Beautiful friendship. I’m glad it ended like this. It was a beautiful thing.
8- Cold as ice
Kayla comes to stay with Maura for three weeks. When Frankie played hockey Angela once “stormed out onto the ice in the middle of Frankie’s game and hit the referee with her purse”. Frost:”what did Frankie do?” - Jane:”try to change his last name” :p
Maura gets worried when Kayla doesn’t answer her texts and wants to file a missing person report, then when she shows up she calls her “irresponsible selfish teenager” ! wow :-/
Next morning Maura wakes up to see Kayla in her kitchen making breakfast for three friends :p
Angela tells Korzak that her husband didn’t pay taxes so she owes 27000$ now.
Dr Carla Dalton was convinced her brother-in-law killed his wife, staged his death and took his son. She was looking for her nephew. They find him and arrest Carla’s brother-in-law.
9- No one mourns the wicked
Jane and Maura have to go to a three-day symposium and talk about Hoyt. Dr Nolan convinced her. She’s a forensic psychiatrist writing about serial-killers. She wrote a book about Hoyt and other two. At the symposium they have to describe how they investigated a murder scene, only what was supposed to be a realistic dummy turns out to be a real man and a real woman murdered.
They work with Dr Nolan’s help. Jane keeps having nightmares about Hoyt and is worried she might have PTSD. One of the three cops that looked like likely suspects is killed too. The third cop is dead so Frankie and Angela go staying the night at Jane’s place :) Korzak has two dogs home, Starsky and Hutch - Kojak too, I think, the one who just had puppies?
Dr Nolan was the girl who killed her parents and now keeps killing with her son Jack. Her parents did nothing when she told them a famous doctor had repeatedly raped her and gave her son away for adoption, but then she found him and taught him how to kill a puppy when he was five. Jack gets tired of her telling him what to do so she shoots him then Jane comes in and shoots her.
The ending shows Jane, Maura, Frankie and Frost at Korzak’s house, sitting on the porch patting his puppies :-)
10- Built for speed
Maura keeps saying how sexy Martinez is, almost as if she wanted Jane to sleep with him.. she’s in love with Casey, leave her alone :-/ Giovanni was at a car race when a car blew up killing the driver, An agent there, Brandon Thomas, is interested in Maura, even fascinated when he sees her wearing the dead man’s fingers. :p Maura finds him fascinating too :)
Martinez hits on Jane; she gets angry when it turns out he was at the race, on an undercover operation, and not telling them anything about it, not answering their texts.
The picture of an mysterious boss is called “unsub king pin” :p
Poor Alberto told his parole officer when he found drugs and she killed him.
11- Judge, jury and executioner
Doug Savant plays Roger.
There’s a sort of trial competition= mock-trial? While a girl is stating her case, her mom enters the courtroom, collapses and dies. She was a judge Jane and Maura knew: “one of the good guys”.
A letter from IRS comes, Maura sees it, Jane reads it and tells Frankie about the debt.
Maura understands why Angela told Tommy but not her: “Tommy doesn’t judge”.
The judge was a good one, believing in rehabilitation for first offenders, but she found out irregularities in the model prison where she had sent some kids, and her long-time friend the lawyer Roger killed her because she would have ruined him.
Angela finds out Tommy paid off her debt, although I have no idea what things did he have to settle, and what did his lawyer do...
12- Partners in crime
Patty writes to Maura asking her to take in his dad, to be released on parole only if he has a place to stay. A woman professor suspect drowning at her house. Korzak talks to the dog - it seemed such an odd pose, it wasn’t done too well, it looked fake, not like if he was talking to a dog - also Frost and Frankie handle the murder of a manager and Frankie does his first notification, telling the wife and sister about the death. Casey arrives a day earlier and Jane hugs him and kisses him right there at the station entrance - or whatever should I call it.
Next morning he’s up before her making breakfast and already did her laundry and cleaned the refrigerator... Angela wanted to stay with her for a while but has to leave :p
Jane goes with Maura to take Doyle sr. to her home. He’s a hard man, unpleasant and mean, but they signed the papers already so they have to take him home. Casey understands the old man, and stays with him, with his dog. Casey’s a colonel now.
The two murders are connected of course, the dead woman’s husband and the dead man’s wife killed each other’s spouses. Casey goes back to Afghanistan and has to decide what to do after that: quit or stay in the military, and it all depends on whether Jane wants to marry him or not...
13- Tears of a clown
A creepy clown is trying to force a kid to accept a ride but a man stops him and the kid flees, but the man got pushed down, hit his dead and died. Jane and Casey’s picnic lunch is so cute, he gives her a ring, and the way they are with each other is beautiful. But if she marries him she has to leave and be a general’s wife.
Frost’s girlfriend has a job offer in Beijing and Maura sort of encourages her not to put a man before her dreams. Casey’s leave has been cancelled and he has to go, and they still haven’t figured out what to do about their jobs and their lives.
The clown took another kid, sent a video out. They trace the house, find the kid alive and the clown dead. Still Maura thinks it wasn’t him that killed the good samaritan. It was the brother of a victim, a boy that in 1988, I think, was molested by the clown. He wanted him to pay for it, so he staged the kidnaps and killed the clown.
14- Just push play
Frank Rizzoli comes back after not showing up for a year and had the nerve to be rude to Lt Sean, something like ‘what are you doing with my wife?’, really, the nerve :-/ He has no right to talk like that :-/ He shows up at Jane’s door later saying he has prostate cancer. Angela hears Jane talk about it with Maura.
A girl is stabbed in a club, a musician, adopted daughter of a famous composer/conductor.
Frank wants a family dinner, and Angela agrees on her own terms: at Maura’s house and she invites Lt Sean too. Frank acts like a jerk, saying Tommy had no talent, Frankie was a quitter... they just say “we know what alcohol does to you” and Sean adds that Frankie is a great detective and Tommy a great father. They leave and Frank wants to start a fight with Sean, but Jane and Angela stop them, then Jane tells him, crying: “you know that crap that you said to Tommy and Frankie, you can’t ever take that back”
Searching the girl’s stuff Korzak checks her guitar, and Jane and Frost are amazed looking at him playing. Everybody thinks she was terrified of performing and that she only played piano, and yet she sang and played guitar in the subway, even wrote her own songs. Her roommate stole her music and her chances and killed her.
Frank comes to apologize , to say that his cancer is stage two so treatable, and that he’s thinking of moving back to Boston, but Angela tells him that he’s no more her husband and should go back to his life in Florida and Jane says it’s a short flight, he can visit whenever he likes... meaning=go!. Then she hugs him and he goes. Jane, Maura and Angela try to lift up the depressed mood and Maura tells them “you’re my family” :-)
15- Food for thought
Tommy is studying to be a plumber and wants to propose to Lydia.
Chef Holden collapses in the street and dies. Maura smells him and her nose starts to bleed and she yells to stand back. They are all ok but biohazard measures are implemented.
A mysterious package arrives for Maura and she launches a bomb alarm, the building gets evacuated, Frankie stays with her to help... and it turns out to be the coffee machine she ordered on Amazon... :p
Apparently Frankie always had a crush on Maura :-/
Holden had won an American best-chef reality, and worked with two other chefs from the show. He had recently had an accident and lost his ability to taste, and his ex-girlfriend and restaurant-partner helped him. The chef that came second and was now working with him, wanted to sell his secret sauce and use cheap ingredients, and killed Holden because he opposed.
Hope comes back asking Jane to talk to Maura, saying she needs her forgiveness. Hope shows up at Maura’s place and they try to start over :)
16- You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
Tommy and Lydia are engaged. Jane tells Maura she had decided to marry Casey.
Senator Bloomsfield’s daughter is killed, shot in the head, executed. Frankie fights with a drunk Tommy. He had been sober for three years then started drinking again so Lydia left him, and he doesn’t know where she is. Jane is also worried that something might be going on between Frankie and Maura and tells her that “when he falls he falls hard” so don’t mess with him...
Natalie worked for Nsa, Jane says she might have been leaking intelligence, so the Nsa block their every move, even taking their work computers - or trying to, Lt Sean switched them.. so the other detectives didn’t need theirs??
When they tell the senator her daughter was framed she lets them investigate Natalie’s place. They find her proof: Natalie was raped by her boss like other women before her, all scared of him.
Natalie worked to expose him, so he framed her and killed her.
At the end, Casey writes that he’s not leaving the army and wants her to follow him, so she won’t marry him anymore. She wanted before when she thought he’d have quit the military. She also tells Maura that she’s pregnant !

Rizzoli and Isles season 3

1- What doesn’t kill you
Maura is angry because Jane shot Doyle; they have a fight. Jane tells her Doyle would have killed them all but I say she’s wrong. Doyle hesitated seeing her, didn’t shoot her. She shot him.
Now it’s on the news that Doyle is Maura’s father. Jane is being questioned by Internal Affairs, and she goes to warn Maura about IA investigating the shooting. Maura started saying sorry but got angry because Jane didn’t ask about her father or anything like that.
Jane fights with Dean because she feels betrayed. Angela has Jane tell her how she met Maura. Jane was undercover as a prostitute so she had no money and Maura gave her some and advised her on what to eat. Jane’s middle-name is Clementine.
Dean tells Jane that Doyle has someone inside the department and she’s being set up as a dirty cop, then he’s called back to Washington. Jane and Maura have another fight. Jane gets transferred and Maura resigns. Maura’s home is a mess, someone went there to search for Doyle’s book of people on his payroll. The dead cop was Doyle’s old friend.
Doyle personally gave Maura to her adopted mother to keep her safe. Jane finds the little book, head of IAD is dirty, what a surprise...
We see there is a grave for ‘baby Maura Doyle’ so maybe that’s why her biological mom never looked for her - her birthday is 7-8-76.
Doyle says that yes, he would have shot Jane, she’s a cop, but I think he said that to patch things up between them, because Maura needs Jane’s love more than his.
A store owner and a cop are killed.
2- Dirty little secret
Frankie and Tommy are in Jane’s home when their dad shows up. Maura’s back at work.
Tommy introduced his dad to his new fiancee, and to marry her in a church he plans to get his first marriage annulled ! On what count ?!?
Maura and Jane are still at ‘detective Rizzoli and doctor Isles’. The new fiancee is 28, younger than Jane and Frankie... :-/
Frost takes Frankie to a lake where a body was found. All throw up but Frankie, then he has to endure Maura’s anger at ‘guessing’.
A girl is strangled. Jane and Korzak take a Yoga lesson to meet a suspect, then Korzak plans for Jane and Maura to make a trip together - Maura to do a test and Jane to question a suspect.
Two cases connected, both killed for the same reason.
Jane and Maura are in trouble, bad people crash their car then shoot at them. Maura’s hurt and asks Jane to ‘operate’ on her leg to avoid losing it! Maura faints and they have to stop. In the night the bad guys find them. As usual, they don’t shoot them but leave them in the car tied up waiting for the water to fill up and drown them... but Korzak of course finds them and saves them.
At home they apologize to each other and are friends again :-)
3- This is how a heart breaks
A homeless vet dies on the street. While Maura’s working on him another body is brought in but he was still alive, and Maura saves him :-) and he asks her out. Frankie busts them doing ‘street art’, sort of :p and he stops them for vandalism but of course Frankie didn’t really charge her, it was a bogus sheet :-p
Investigating, Jane sees colonel Casey Jones... but she didn’t know he was in town. He’s been here a few months... He’s cold but also hurting. When she goes to tell him that she fell in love with him he says that he has nothing to offer her and after she leaves we see that he’s been injured and can’t walk without crutches.
Angela did ‘cannoncini alla crema pasticcera’ and she pronounced it perfectly, I so appreciate the effort muah!
(Once, protesting in college, Maura rode a horse nude??)
Steve, Justin and Bernard, three men dead. Bernard did street art, but wouldn’t sell it because it was not art for him; he was tormented after the war. A guy killed him to steal his work and sell it as his own.
4- Welcome to the dollhouse
Jane’s chief is quite kind to Angela. Maura was in running shoes and clothes and ran to change before going to the crime-scene...
Korzak rescues a dog and takes her to Maura for a check-up. Maura takes her back home, to Casey, because Korzak couldn’t do it. As Maura sees Casey she understands his disease, that he’s paralyzed because of some terrible syndrome or something.
After being murdered a girl is left at a bus bench dressed and posed like a doll. Then another. Angela writes about this in her blog. Twenty years ago a woman disappeared. Her cop husband was abusive. Her mom brings letters she sealed with a kiss, for Dna: “I watch a lot of crime shows” - :-)
The cop’s son did it, mentally troubled. The cop had killed his wife in front of him.
Casey call Jane to meet. Angela sent a note to him too. Now that they meet and she learns about it, she tells him “it doesn’t matter” :-) and when he leaves she cries.
5- Throwing down the gauntlet
Maura looked for informations on Hope, her birth-mother, Dr Hope Martin., and found her. A successful, brilliant doctor with a family, who moved to Boston! Jane wants Maura to contact her but she’s full of doubts and fears. ‘Sister Winifred Callahan’ is the meanest person Jane has ever known in her entire life, apparently, and so now Korzak and Frost know about the Clementine name :-p and she says “Hello Francesco” to Frankie who is scared of her too. Jane apparently went to a Catholic school run by nuns.
Jane convinces Maura to call Dr martin for help in the case, but Maura can’t speak when she hears her voice so she passes the phone to Jane  funny scene. She comes and she’s just like Maura :-p
They work together and talk and then when they succeed and Hope hugs her Maura cries ! She cries but doesn’t want to ever tell her!
The dead girl Emma worked at DA’s office, and was working at a cold case of a 17-year-old girl. Emma plotted to go work as a nanny at McGregor’s house, a man running for congress, the one Angela likes so much. McGregor’s campaign manager killed them both
6- Money maker
Hope calls her and Maura invites her at her house. “They’re a minute early!” Hope comes with her daughter Kayla who is 18 and seems to hate the world, and when she leaves Hope goes away too.The next day Hope tells Maura that Kayla is ill and needs a transplant but mom and dad are not a match. Maura wants to donate a kidney anonymously because “if I tell her who I am I’ll be a reminder of her tragic past, I’ll never be anything else to her”
An ear is found at a house-for-sale, and the rest of the body in the garbage-bin.
In that house secret sex parties were going on. Jane and Maura go undercover as maids :p A wife killed because her husband fell in love with a prostitute.
Oh my, Frankie rapping and Frost joining in, at the police station... until the nun comes in and hits them :p
Kayla found out that Maura is Hope’s daughter and refuses her kidney, but hates her. Hope comes looking for her and Maura tells her “I’m Patty Doyle’s daughter”
Hope takes Kayla and runs away.
7- Crazy for you
A couple of doctors gets killed. Dad Rizzoli’s ex-girlfriend shows up seven-months pregnant.
Dominick Bianchi, who delivers bread to Angela, is obsessed with Jane and abducts her, and thinks they’re married. The team sees it all on a live-streaming, and from the structure of a window and a heater they understand what building she’s been held at... Maura cries watching them rescue her :-)
8- Cuts like a knife
Maura speaks Serbian :-)
Frost and Frankie like Jane’s new tattoo-artist neighbour. A bride, Anya, is killed and her sister flees to avoid being deported to Croatia. Maura plays with Jane fantasy-wedding, what dress or cake she’d have :p and her second name is Dorothea.
The husband’s ex-girlfriend is so happy to learn she’s dead :-/
The new girl Riley was kissing Frankie, then she met and kissed Frost :-/ but they know about it and Maura asks about their men-code :p Jane thinks she’s a drug-dealer, and her LT tells her she’s a target of a drug investigation.
The bride was a victim of sex-trafficking and killed because she escaped. Riley gets arrested and Frankie is angry because Jane didn’t say anything.
The guy that runs a ‘samaritan’ group to help girls get to America to change their lives is CutThroat, a girl-trafficking and murderer. Jane kills him and saves the bride’s sister and other girls.
9- Home town glory
Shane, the leader of a boyband, is killed. Frankie grew up with him.
Korzak reads Tom Clancy’s novels.
Jane and Maura talk to Lydia because Angela is throwing a baby shower for her, but Lydia doesn’t know who the father is, and doesn’t really want to know. At the shower Lydia tells her that Frank dumped her when she told him that the baby could be Tommy’s, and Angela is very hurt, even more because Jane and Maura knew and didn’t tell her - married 35 years with that man :-/
Jane and Maura take Lydia to her mother but after seeing her Maura feels bad.
Maura asks Jane if mocking her makes her feel better, and Jane is like ‘yeah, sorry’
Another singer dead, she was about to run away with him. He was leaving the band so his brother killed him and the other brother was there too. Angela wants to move out, thinks that she’s a failure, but Jane and Frankie tell her how much they admire her and she stays.
10- Melt my heart to stone
Riley Cooper is promoted detective instead of Frankie. She was the neighbour, who was actually a cop undercover, so Frankie and Frost are not happy.
A statue is bleeding because there’s a woman’s body inside.
The guy Maura went out with comes back after three months asking her to go at his book signing.
There are four old cases of prostitutes encased in plastic. One more statue is posed in a carousel.
Dennis tells Maura words of possible-true-love...
Jane receives a letter from the serial-killer, at the zoo. Another body-statue is found. The suspect Stone spent time in jail with Hoyt. Lydia comes back to Angela, and Frankie calls Tommy. Dennis keeps talking about Maura saving his life when he was declared dead.
The first two suspects are cleared, and the third is surprise-not-really:  Dennis. They get there in time and he kills himself..
Lydia had the baby and left it at their doorstep. It’s so cute: Jane with the baby in her arms :-)
11- Class action satisfaction
Tommy takes care of the baby, Maura runs a paternity test.
A man dies at the café after Angela served him breakfast. Lydia takes back her baby.
The guy was poisoned with rat poison and Jane takes Stanley into custody. The guy had Korzak’s phone number in his pocket. Vince meets his first wife Dana and doesn’t even recognize her at first. They were only married three weeks. She gave him Korzak’s number.
A new body on Maura’s table and she hits for emergency locked down and they have to take decontamination showers and Jane is very annoyed and shy about undressing with people around - of course, may I add.
Vince and Dana were married thirty years ago; she left him while he was in Vietnam.
The new guy Alex is dating Susie from the lab. The paternity test shows that Tommy is the father.
Meningites: they arrest a lawyer that planned it all.
Lydia’s mom is getting sober. They dine all together and they’re all happy to have little TJ (Tommy Junior) in their lives :-)
12- Love the way you lie
It’s the “week of health” :p
A writer is found hanged and his manuscript gone. He was strangled and then hung. Time ago Frost arrested a boy for raping and murdering a girl, and now his last appeal has been denied. Frost is troubled by this case.
Angela is seeing LT Sean, Jane’s boss, but he breaks it off to avoid complications at work.
When he was a rookie Sean’s wife and baby died in a fire. It turns out the new and old cases are connected: the girl Catrina’s boyfriend killed her because she fell for someone else, and the writer knew it, and his therapist too - who tried blackmail - so they were killed too.
13- Virtual love
Jane is upset at seeing her mother flirting at the bar, maybe trying to make the Lt jealous :p Rondo brings in three kids who need mentoring - Maura is patronizing in an annoying, snob way, assuming that they are not educated :-/
Jane assigns one to Frost, one to Korzak and the girl to Maura. She is smart and wants to see an autopsy.
Angela’s wallet is stolen when a fire-alarm is pulled for nothing.
Jane: “I need one of those swabby things” - Maura:”stop, I’ll give you whatever you’re looking for but I need a more precise description” - “I have to figure out what you say all day long, you can’t figure out swabby-things? Really??” She’s right :-p
Jane confronts her mother because the Lt’s bad mood is affecting them all and its ‘beneath her’ to go out that stupid auto-theft-task-force Gibson and Angela is proud of her.
The girl Tania took 100$ from Angela’s wallet because she needed it for a textbook and didn’t want the school to know that she lives in a teen-shelter.
The dead guy played an online role-playing game, and his online lover got killed too, by his assistant who loved him.
It ends with Rondo and the kids playing at home with Angela and having dinner with them :-)
14- Over/under
Jane Frost and Frankie were to play softball and Maura and three of her team wanted to go too and Maura is hurt because they don’t want her.
A guy killed while washing his car. The guy was a footballer until he got badly injured five years ago.
Casey comes in looking for Korzak and meets Jane. He leaves his dog with Korzak and promises her he’ll be in touch.
Frost’s mom Camille comes in with her roommate Robin and her son. She tells Angela that she’s getting remarried. Maura tries again to play softball with them and they win :-) because Robin and Camille were in her team :-p
Frost knew about his mother and Robin for some time but never said anything because he didn’t want to intrude, but sure he’ll be at their wedding.
Casey goes to talk to Jane and she makes him go to her apartment, climb the stairs... :-/
he tells her that he’s having surgery. She keeps telling him that it doesn’t matter, that she cares about him, and she’s all “please please just give me a chance” but he says “let me kiss you and then let me go”. Maura tells her that that surgery is very risky but Jane asks her to pretend it’ll all be fine.
The football injury was not accidental, a player was fixing the game shaving points and killed the guy who was looking into it.
Maura brings Jane her research into Casey’s type of surgery because it’s dangerous.
Jane: “I don’t wanna know” - “you need to know. If you care about him you’ll look”
15- No more drama in my life
A body shot on stage during rehearsal.
Maura explains Casey’s surgery to Jane, Hope will do it. She emailed but Maura didn’t reply; Jane: “she wants your kidney, for Kayla. You don’t owe her anything ok? It’s not your fault that she is your biological mother, just as much as it is not her fault that you’re her biological daughter... and that didn’t sound right. You should say ‘I like both my kidneys’ and ‘have a nice life’ “.
Tommy is ‘babysitting’, and Jane “I think when you’re the father they call it parenting” eheh Eames said the same thing once :p
Hope goes to Maura to ask her kidney, but Maura is very hurt and tells her to go away. About Doyle: “he was, still is, the most complicated, intelligent, damaged human being that I’ve ever met”
A building collapse, Frost Tommy and TJ are trapped. Hope comes to help Maura with the injured. All are saved, Maura agrees to help Kayla of course, Casey is determined to go through with it and have the surgery.

The closer season 2

Episode 5 was my favourite

1- Blue Blood
Cop Tim is found dead two days after his death. Detective Daniels had dated him for a few months. He was off duty, and now all his division is angry at Brenda for how she’s handling the matter.
It turns out the detective’s long-time partner shot Tim after finding out that Tim was the real father of his son but that he still cared more about hiding the truth than taking a test to help the child who has cancer :-/
Brenda has now a sugarless-snacks policy for her team :p She gave it up too and eats oranges now in her office :p yeah right :p then when she’s too nervous before an interview Tao gives her candies :p
Fritz wants to move in together but she stalls “what if you stopped liking me?” :p Fritz asks her if her reluctance has anything to do with Pope getting a divorce... he’s jealous and he thinks that Pope will ask her out again now. Sure enough Pope does ask her out but she says no because she’s dating Fritz and they’re moving in together :-) Good.
2- Mom duty
Fritz moves in; Brenda sort of has to deal with an important case. A big trial against an Armenian mob guy keeps being delayed, a juror dies of a heart attack and Flynn is the one wanting to look into it, saying jurors have been threatened before, and he swears to Brenda that he’s right about this, so she investigates.
Brenda wants a mis-trial to be able to talk to the other jurors. It turns out the man’s son set the fire that killed a person, and killed someone to stop the first trial and tried to kill juror 4 in the second trial but juror 9 died first. After being shot by Flynn, Brenda lets him think that he’s about to die and records his confession, so his dad’s trial is over and Brenda can finally investigate juror 9’s death. She was killed by her mother-in-law.
Brenda’s mom is coming to LA for a funeral and Brenda doesn’t want her to know about Fritz, but this upsets him and he tells her that either she tells her mother or they’re done. Her mom’s never been to her house before, and she also visits her workplace :) Had she stayed home she would have made her new curtains :p Provenza takes her to the funeral since Brenda can’t, but he tells Brenda not to worry because he doesn’t date women over 35, 40 if he’s drunk... *rollingeyes*
At dinner time, Fritz meets Brenda’s mom :)
3- Slippin’
Brenda was supposed to have a day off; she was showing her mom the city with Fritz, but she has to leave them to go to a crime scene. Two black 19-year-old died in a shooting. Everybody assumed they were a couple, but actually the kid’s girlfriend was the white girl Teresa now in a hospital. Wesley was in no gang.
Brenda’s mom has been cleaning her house, and when Brenda comes home with Gabriel she tells him not to talk about Fritz or politics or religion or vegetarians, and eventually tells him to just ‘smile and wave’ Brenda goes out to dinner with her mother and Fritz, to the same restaurant Wesley’s parents went on the night of the shooting, to check their alibi. They were there, but while they were eating their car was used in a gang shooting, and because of that Wesley and the girl were killed out of revenge. After a week Brenda’s mother goes home. WillyRae knew about Fritz’s stuff being in a truck outside, about them living together, but she won’t tell her husband :-)
Brenda tells her “I thought you’d stay longer, I promised to show you stars that aren’t dead” - “guests are like fish, after three days you’d better throw them out” - “you’ve been here a week!”
but there’s payback :-p when mom asks her why she felt she had to keep her relationship a secret Brenda said “I didn’t want to disappoint you” which is kinda stupid of course, you know, and mom says “Brenda Lee, it’s much too late for that” then they smile.
Taylor thanks her for clearing the boy’s name :-)
4- Aftertaste
Karen, the wife of chef Paul Bivas, was murdered in the restaurant kitchen. While listing the people who worked there, Flynn can’t say the French word and Provenza puts up his ‘I can’t believe this’-face :p he pronounces every word the English way, he even says ‘somme-liar’
Brenda receives a huge basket of flowers for her birthday :p by Fritz :)
Dennis Dutton, the guy who beat his ex to death with a golf club, is one of the restaurant investors. Brenda: “why is it that you’re always one or two steps away from a murdered woman?”.
His alibi is a critic played by John Billingsley. Chef Paul goes to chef Walter’s restaurant shouting that he killed his wife. Provenza has him drop the knife and Flynn knocks down Walter when he attacks him in return :p Walter had an affair with Karen, four years before, when she worked there.
While Brenda is in her office, Pope brings her dinner as well as a birthday gift. She has to work though so cmdr Taylor eats it.
She walks around with the flowers, saying “no-one touches these flowers ok?” - Provenza reads the card: she’s 40 now.
Karen slept with Walter to have him hire Paul, then with Dennis so he would invest money in Paul’s restaurant, and she slept with the critic so he’d write a wonderful review, and the critic killed her because (he said that) he loved her and she didn’t.
She loved her husband, and everything she did was for him. So once again Dennis is free :-/ and he leaves a set of knives for Brenda as a gift, with a card :-/
The squad and Fritz give her a cake, and she uses the knives to cut it :) She takes the first slice to Fritz :)
Provenza: “I guess she didn’t get her wish” - Flynn:”how do you know?” - “because you’re still here”
Fritz tells her that turning 40 is not so bad and that it all depends if she sees the glass half full or half empty, and she says “what glass?” - “that’s my girl”, they kiss then he takes the flowers to the car while she eats a bit of cake, then she takes it with her - she did not open Pope’s gift.
5- To protect and to serve
Provenza and Flynn are late for a game, when they find a dead woman in Provenza’s garage. Provenza convinces Flynn to not call it in just yet, because she’ll still be dead when they get back from the game... so they go but Flynn’s ‘car’ breaks down on the way so they have to go back, and the body’s not there anymore! The body is found elsewhere and Flynn uses Brenda’s name to take charge of the investigation.
Pope is angry at her when he learns about this but she does not rat them out :-D Then, she storms off his office really mad and starts yelling at her squad ‘where are Flynn and Provenza?’ when they arrive. Now they tell her everything. They’re worried she might fire them and look at her with puppy eyes  She tells Provenza “just go home” - “is that how you say you’re fired in the South?” :p - “your garage is a crime scene; Lt Provenza go home and wait for me there!” then she asks Tao, Julio and Daniels to help them. The victim was the woman who lived at Provenza’s place before him.
Taylor is still investigating, while Brenda’s team does it in secret because they know it’s not a ‘robbery homicide’ case, and most of all Taylor doesn’t know where she was murdered.
Brenda also has to interfere in Taylor’s investigation, because Kathy(?)’s boyfriend found her dead and moved the body cutting her open to retrieve drugs (I think) but they don’t want him to say ‘where’ he found her, so Brenda ruins an interview and then Flynn makes a call: there’s a bomb threat and everybody must get out so he can’t close any deal.
Finally Fritz comes to take Taylor’s suspect away :p Kathy Landon was an addict and four years before she had been a surrogate mother. A couple had the baby but there was no legal contract. Now that she wanted the baby back, the father first tried to take her to the police knowing that she was carrying drugs, but when she fought he killed her.
Brenda gives him time to surrender and he won’t say anything about the garage.
Flynn and Provenza are safe, but Brenda gives them a list of gifts for the squad who helped them - Opium perfume for Daniels, flat tv for Sanchez, a Macbook Pro for Tao’s son, Mets tickets for Fritz...
6- Out of focus
Pope says about Brenda: “she sometimes forgets there are other people in the world” .
A ‘paparazzi’ is dead, and Provenza is the only one who rightly says ‘paparazzo’. Thank you.
They throw dummies off the balcony to try find out how it happened, and Provenza named them with his ex-wives names (so, Heather is the fourth, Liz is the one who always corrected his grammar; Sharon the one who always had to be right..). A very famous actor, Whit, is involved. The paparazzo took pictures of him cheating on his wife with José Diaz, but he didn’t kill him. His ex-wife did, maybe for the money - she sold the picture for 300.000$ - or maybe because he didn’t love her anymore.
Brenda hears the message that a woman left for Fritz and is jealous. I didn’t like how in this episode they kept implying that there might be some affair between Brenda and Pope: at the beginning, when they meet at the hotel and enter a room together, and then it turns out to be a crime scene; at the end, when Pope asks her out to dinner and we don’t hear her answer because the episode ends. Come on stop it please.
7- Head over heels
Gabriel and Brenda are at a diner, he tells her he’s now dating Daniels, when a man tells them that ‘somebody’s head is in my dumpster’. Brenda falls inside while taking a look: “of for Heaven’s sake, it is a head!” :-p and feet also. The dead man was a porn star. His wife worked with him once but now only stays with her two children; she didn’t even know that he was HIV positive. Not even Chris knew that he was positive, and when he found out he went to his producer (Oscar and his mother own Opulence Production), and attacked him, and Oscar killed him. His mother had found out some time ago that Chris was HIV positive and paid a man at the clinic to fake the results. She had also hired girls from Brazil ‘because they were cheaper’ :-/ and didn’t have them tested to save time. Because of her conduct Chris infected his wife and at least twelve women, that they know of, but many haven’t been found and tested, so Brenda charges her with that.
Brenda is nervous because she thinks she might be pregnant, and she tells Pope but not Fritz. Pope tells her that he can’t have this private conversation since she made it clear she wants to have only a professional relationship. Of course she’s not pregnant. Fritz would like to have kids but she doesn’t look ready at all.
Oscar’s mother is played by the actress who played Zelda in Sabrina.
8- Critical missing
Brenda is still not comfortable with Gabriel and Daniels dating. Tao is Chinese, his wife is Japanese.
Two bodies are found, a mother and a daughter. Yumi and Aiko Takahashi. Paul Andrews was Yumi’s husband. He’s British, not a US citizen. Paul’s first wife disappeared and was never found, his second wife and child are dead and his girlfriend and her son are living with him. He killed them, and eventually makes a deal. It’s not enough for Brenda, and she talks about it to Fritz who helps her - she looked good in jeans and red jacket :-)
She finds the body of his first wife so he’ll get much more than that deal.
9- Heroic measures
A woman at a hospital yells that her son - who came in for a test and died in the operation room - has been murdered. Daniels accepts her words enough to call Brenda, who comes in a fancy dress because she was at dinner with Fritz. Seeing them together the man in charge there ‘just assumes’ that Fritz is the boss - “talk to the lady” he says - then the hospital administrator thinks he can simply bully her around! Brenda calls him a jerk and rightly so! He even tries to threaten Pope, and Pope threatens Grand Jury at them.
Mother Melissa’s boyfriend, mad at Provenza, says “screw you!” - Provenza: “if that’s an offer you might be a little friendlier about it”
The mother proves the doctors’ negligence by performing an autopsy on him at a medical lab after the body had been released.   She has one of them admitting to malpractice and the other that he let the boy die, making a life and death decision. They will not be prosecuted though. The mother shoots the doctor who let him die.
10- The other woman
Brenda is testifying in Pope’s divorce case - deposition at his custody hearing, for his kids, when his wife’s lawyer brings up a letter she wrote to him when they were lovers during his other marriage, implying that he promoted her because she was his mistress. She leaves to go to a crime scene.
The dead woman might be an identity thief so Fritz comes to help.
MaryAnn stole Jennifer’s identity and was staying at her house, where Jennifer’s brother killed her believing he was killing his sister.
Brenda has a lawyer help her with the deposition :) He took the gift Pope gave her, looked at it and didn’t tell her what it was :-/
She was very worried that everybody would find out about their past affair because of what they might get out of it - maybe think that she got promoted because of it or maybe also that that’s the reason why she always gets her way...
11- Borderline
Brenda wastes her coffee breakfast, breaks her phone and hits a car while driving en reverse with a stained rear window - she could have just cleaned it though - and finally she gets to the crime scene.
There’s a rule: “any officer involved in a vehicular accident while on duty must remain with their vehicle at the scene of said accident until a traffic officer completes a thorough investigation”= department policy. Pope tells her that she was wrong, even if she thinks she’s right, and takes her car keys for the investigation. She’s angry, she talks to Fritz about it so now he has to drive her around. She doesn’t fill in the reports upsetting the traffic officer investigating the accident. She doesn’t want to ‘dignify’ this accusations ‘by responding to it’: she’s very stubborn and unreasonable. This whole thing was so annoying, laws and rules should be for everybody, even for her :-/
Tao is on vacation to Hawaii with his kids.
Two coyotes who drives illegal people to America are found dead, and the injured guy is one too. They were responsible for other people’s deaths. The son of two people they left to die shot the three of them. He confessed because Julio whispered to him that if he got arrested he would end up in the same jail as the third coyote...
Pope and Taylor give a commendation to the traffic officer on Brenda’s request to get it over with, and she also got back her car...
12- No good deed
A 16-year-old kid is murdered. He gave a deposition on Curtis’ case, not against the man in death row, but in his defense. A schoolgirl was in love with Curtis and believed him innocent. She forwarded his mail to his partner so he could kill the boy. They’re both guilty, Curtis and his partner.
... I missed something here, it doesn’t make sense...
Brenda lost her purse and is going crazy without it and her purse : “I’m losing my ability to function” :-p Pope got custody of his kids. Pope’s ex-wife comes in accusing her in front of everybody of wanting to continue her affair with Pope : “if I find out that you are sleeping with Will again I will reopen this custody issue and I am not kidding!”
Everyone’s shocked. Flynn wants to talk about it but Brenda doesn’t. Provenza: “did you go deaf all of a sudden? She said no”. She’s shocked too and she tells Pope: “I may have just lost the respect of everyone who works here”
Fritz is angry because he thinks that Estelle acted like that because she knows how Pope feels and what he wants (meaning Brenda). Fritz tells her that he loves her and then she throws away her memories with Pope and leaves him a note: “Dear Fritz, I love you too! P.s. please cancel all my credit cards today...” :-p
Well, she takes the bag to her office, doesn’t really throw it away... until the end of the episode, when she does, with just a bit of regret I’d say. She also finds out that she had left her purse in Pope’s office
Taylor was made come in and support her in front of everybody.
13- Overkill
Brenda’s cat gets out and she goes crazy :-p She asks her mother for a picture of “Kitty” :-p At home she cries for Kitty.
An FB I agent and the wife of a man in protective custody are shot dead. It’s a mob thing, and ex-mob DeLuca is a witness against the Delamonte family. DeLuca’s wife had an abortion and he didn’t forgive her and he planned the whole thing and killed his wife. After knowing that the FBI agent helped her, DeLuca shoots him right there in the department with Provenza’s gun, and holds him prisoner until Sanchez shoots him. It was an emotional ending, I liked it.
14- Serving the king: part 1
Brenda is upset because she’s on paid leave, the shooting of the last episode is being investigated, and all her squad has been reassigned for the time being, and she’s worried for her career. Gabriel and Flynn work with Taylor. Young Malik is found dead and they don’t like how the others work, so they’re sent away to another case.
Brenda has a meeting with Pope and a man she knows, CIA Andrew Smith, who can make the investigation go away if she does a job for him. He says that Taylor lacks important info to solve Malik’s murder, and that there is a breach in the agency security so the cia reached out to retired personnel like Andrew and Brenda ( !! ). She must find the murderer and save the intended victim: “I want my job back but I’m a criminal investigator Andrew. Find whoever killed Malik, that’s my profession, handing over potential defectors to the cia without knowing why or what you’re gonna do with them, I don’t do that anymore” - He tells her that this ‘Army of Allah’ (same people, different book: I like this line, so true) may be creating an atomic bomb. She meets Provenza and tells him almost everything. He’s sure he’ll be put into retirement. Brenda: “I won’t let them” - “don’t make promises you can’t keep”.
She goes to the crime-scene at night with Provenza and Flynn. She bases the investigation at her home, and Gabriel joins them, while Fritz is in the other room sleeping. She doesn’t tell Flynn and Gabriel everything she’s told Provenza, though.
Brenda meets Elaine, former cia, while Provenza listens to everything from a van nearby. Elaine wants her job back too...
Brenda finds Malik’s killer, Russian ex-KGB officer Voitski, already dead, and tells Andrew that she wants her team back, intact, or she walks away :-)
Brenda throws away her plants :( poor plants...
15- Serving the king: part 2
Brenda and her whole team get back to their office, and Taylor and his men have to go away...
Brenda thinks she should step back from the investigation because they might use her, follow her to kill someone, like they did before.  Andrew: “Brenda, do you remember what to do when you discover you’re under surveillance?” - “never acknowledge you’re being watched unless you can drive some technical advantage” therefore he can’t replace her...
She goes on, and Elaine helps her. Brenda leads the operation, finds the CIA mole (Fritz takes hold of him) and uses Malik’s father to retrieve the Uranium, then the CIA takes him.
Before going home, Provenza comes to take Brenda out for breakfast, before coming back and hanging her huge picture that keeps falling off the wall.. :-D

Monk season 8

They knew it was their final season, and they made it good: they tied up everything, finding closure for each and every character, and it was very very nice. This is what final seasons should do.

1- Mr Monk’s favorite show
Natalie and Monk are waiting to meet actress Christine Rapp. He’s a real fan, her show was really important to him. She doesn’t come because someone tried to kill her. She started her car with the remote and there was a bomb in it. Monk is hired as her bodyguard. She was a child when she did the show, but Monk knows nothing about her real life after that. Everybody keeps telling him to read her book, and finally the captain orders him to. He’s shocked as everyone else :-p
Apparently she grew up to have an interesting life :p Natalie eats page 73 to avoid him reading that! :p He feels betrayed and can’t enjoy the show anymore... (yeah, that happens with actors, some of them shouldn’t be allowed to speak without a PR consultant, it ruins movies for you).
Christine set it all up because she wanted to kill him: he had rigged an award show to make her win and then blackmailed her.
2- Mr Monk and the foreign man
Monk is bothered by a man making music and burning incense on the street corner near his house, but then he learns the reason why the man doesn’t go away: his wife was killed there :’( Monk can certainly relate to that, now. As soon as I saw the woman I just knew she’d be a victim: she was so joyful, kind, happy, pretty and colourful, such a character always ends up dead in this type of movies, so the audience can fell for her and the investigation.
Monk wants to help him find the guy who hit her with his van and ran away. The captain wants him to work on a more recent homicide, but Monk identifies with Samuel and wants to help him. No surprise Monk finds a connection between the two murders, the same murderer. Instead of helping the woman he hit, he went to kill the only person who knew what he had done. The guy takes them prisoner. Monk cries a lot but Samuel doesn’t; they free themselves and overpower the guy, then Samuel leaves, telling Monk to not give up.
3- Mr Monk and the UFO
Natalie is angry because Monk insisted to go with her to some friends and then said nothing all night, just rearranged stuff :p when their car breaks down, Monk sees a UFO in the sky. Natalie takes the car to a mechanic, but then Monk is very rude, implying that the man is stupid, so he takes offence - of course, he had every reason - and triples the price :p She asks if he has no empathy at all... is she noticing that now? ...
He sees it again, along with Natalie and a hotel clerk. The next day a lot of UFO enthusiasts come. Monk thinks he’s the only smart person because he doesn’t believe aliens exist (which is actually not smart at all, I’ve heard that the universe is quite big actually...) and people start thinking he’s an alien :p
The sheriff asks him to help when a woman is found dead. Her brother killed her but since nobody found her body he couldn’t inherit, so he built a remote-controlled ufo-model so that people would come and look around and find her.
Monk tells the truth but the ufo-people don’t believe him so Monk tells them that he’s an alien and then they’re happy...
At the end, Monk hides in his bathroom because Natalie wants to see his bellybutton, to see if he’s really human :p
4- Mr Monk is someone else
A dangerous hitman is killed and the FBI  asks Monk to go to LA and take his place because this Frankie DePalma looks exactly like him :p to stop a pretty girl from kissing him he says he has a girlfriend so Natalie has to join him :p everyone acts scared upon hearing his name - although he died in a very stupid way to be the man they said he was: he crossed the street reading a newspaper and got hit by a truck...
While on the job he meets Harold! Monk very quickly gets too deep in , enjoying acting like Frankie. He goes back to them but when Lola kisses him he turns back to himself and solves the case.
5- Mr Monk takes the stand
It starts with the “here’s what happened” scene this time, but Monk gets interrupted by the guy’s lawyer who plans to take it to court. Harrison Powell, nicknamed ‘the prince of darkness’ :p (the actor is Payne from GhostWhisperer), has never lost a case and now he questions them in court. Monk is sure that his client is the guy, and is sure of himself, but Powell tears him apart. The guy is a sculptor who killed his wife. Monk makes a strange noise when talking of the sculpture of a naked woman, and can’t bring himself to look at it. He has troubles with the microphone, says his nurse left five years ago, objects to himself, has to talk of his breakdown and his psychiatric discharge, and we’re spared the rest. No surprise the verdict is not guilty...
Randy’s upset because of a kid accused of murder. He cares about Rudy and Rudy admits to stealing but not to the murder.
Monk tells Dr Bell that he wants to quit but then Randy asks his help to save the kid. Monk is a wreck, but he smiles when he realizes that the store owner was killed by the sculptor too. They question him, then Powell comes in to free him, but the guy ruins himself with his own words saying something he could only know if he say it himself. Still, Monk is terrified of meeting Powell in court again so they give him some advice, like: don’t shout mayday out loud! :p
We don’t see the trial but we hear the verdict: guilty :)
6- Mr Monk and the critic
Julie acts in a little play and Monk goes to the theatre with Natalie and he’s very satisfied with the spotless men’s restroom :p Julie sings well :-) and yet a critic that was at the theatre gives Julie a terrible review.
A girl is thrown off the balcony after a guy proposed to her.
Natalie goes to complain to the critic himself and solves the case, smelling on him the same cologne she smelled in the girl’s room. Her proof for the captain: she has Julie sing for them to prove that he didn’t hear her sing, that he wasn’t there, but the men don’t believe her.
Monk doesn’t even pay her sometimes and now he doesn’t believe her, why does she keep babysitting him is beyond me. I mean, he’s a good man I know, but still....
Anyway, she goes on and on until he agrees to work her case. The critic had the bathroom attendant take his place for a while while he killed the girl. To prove it, they have Julie make false accusations about him, and have him take a good look at her, and when he says that he’s never seen her before in his life they have him :-)
7- Mr Monk and the voodoo curse
Monk’s upset because at the station they rearranged the squad room *rollingeyes* so the captain orders to put everything back the way it was...
A voodoo doll is found at a dead woman’s home - hit by a baseball. Natalie is scared by voodoo. These dolls reproduce the way people die, sent before their deaths. A golfer dies struck by lightning, a sick man dies of a heart attack. When Natalie receives a doll too she’s terrified. The captain calls a voodoo reverend to release her from her curse but then Natalie drinks the potion instead of just touching it like perfume.
As I thought it was all just a scheme to make the wealthy man’s death look like a heart attack due to superstition.
8- Mr Monk goes to group therapy
Monk’s insurance won’t pay for Monk’s therapy anymore and he won’t pay for it himself (in ten years he hasn’t made any progress, hasn’t overcome any fear..) so Dr Bell suggests a way around it: join his therapy group. Harold’s there too... two people from the group die in two months! Now there’s only Monk, Harold and Rhonda left, until she’s found dead too. After Harold’s rant Monk starts questioning if he really did it! But only for a while, then he gets kidnapped by the killer, along with Harold. Monk can’t even panic because Harold panics more. Monk confesses that he actually admires him because they have the same problems but Harold is out there in the world, with a family! Working together they manage to get out of the car trunk and go to save the doctor, but the guy was actually there to confess the murders, and they talk together and Harold calls him ‘his friend’. The doctor is proud that they beat claustrophobia together, and Harold finds another doctor so that Monk could have dr Bell all to himself! wow..
9- Happy birthday, Mr Monk
It’s Monk’s 50th birthday and everyone at the station was planning a surprise party but he figures it out and leaves, telling Natalie that he hates birthdays. Natalie tries again and fails again, so he tells her why he hates birthday parties, his big big secret: he had a bad birthday party when he was ten... :-/ Natalie swears she’ll surprise him with a party sooner or later, so now he expects a party any place he goes during the investigation :-/
Monk is very very happy with the new invention of a self-cleaning vacuum, but then he breaks his borrowed vacuum by cleaning the filter ignoring all the writings saying not to, so he takes it to the inventor’s home. After that, they hide from a car that’s following them, only it was all a plan to surprise him with a party :p I knew it and it worked :p
A guy is thrown alive in a trash-compact. Monk solves the case right before his fake-inventor killed him too, then the party goes on well :) The captain finds out that the woman he was trying to ask out on a date is called Trudy ! so he thinks it’d be better to stick to her initials T.K. :p
At the end, Monk admits that this was the best birthday party he ever had adding “don’t do it again”, and then he feeds her a bite of cake :)
10- Mr Monk and Sharona
Sharona comes back! She’s separated again. She calls him ‘Ebenizer Monk’ :p Sharona and Natalie talk and she learns that he paid Sharona more :p She’s in town because her uncle died and she’s getting a lot of money by suing somebody over it, and she gets upset when Monk starts looking at it and thinks it is suspicious. Monk thinks that the man was a conman, that he fell on purpose to sue the country-club. Then he thinks that a man killed him because he was having an affair with his wife.
Sharona goes to say hi to the captain and Randy.
After a while Sharona and Natalie start arguing because Sharona says that she’s treating him like a child (true, actually). Later they make peace, sharing their love for him, and agree on trying to nail the guy, and Sharona and Natalie fight the man together.
At the end Sharona falls on that same step so she’ll get some money after all :)
When saying goodbye Sharona says that she was worried about him but now she knows he’s in good hands, then says “get ready, here comes the hug” and then she hugs him, and he hugs her back and it was a really sweet scene, very nice :) He lowered his face towards her and really hugged her, with a lovely expression of affection on his face :)
The last scene : Monk and Natalie see Sharona and Randy kiss...
11- Mr Monk and the dog
Natalie takes Monk to her family reunion.
Artist Amanda is missing - we know she’s dead. Amanda’s dog likes him so much he takes her home, but he wants her to stay in a corner, on an open umbrella, not licking and not scratching.. seriously?  Only a moment and she’s drinking from the toilet and running around :p Still, he takes a liking to her :)
The murderer tries to kill the dog Shelby because while he was having an affair with Amanda his dog got her pregnant, living proof that they knew each other...
Shelby has four puppies and Monk gives the five of them to someone in Natalie’s family - saying that he’ll visit everyday at 2 o’clock *rollingeyes*
12- Mr Monk goes camping
It’s “Adrian Monk reinstatement hearing” at 1pm and he’s there at 7.15... They even arrive late.
Only captain Willis is against him and Monk can’t concentrate on a case because he thinks of Willis all the time, so Monk decides to join Randy in his camping trip because Willis’ son Brian will be there. Monk is not the camping-type, and he asks Randy how he can take it and go on, everything, everybody teasing him, and Randy says that he read somewhere that “happiness is a choice” and he chose to be happy :)
The two robbers are after them because one of the kids found one of their shells. Monk saves Brian from a bear by talking to him really slowly and boring him... while Randy catches the robbers :)
Result: Willis now says yes but the other two say no, but Monk doesn’t hear them and thinks he’s back in...
13- Mr Monk is the best man
TK is meeting the captain for their six-months anniversary and Monk tells her that he figured out that the captain wants to propose to her. They’ll get married in nine days. The captain asks Monk if he’s ok  with her and her name and he replies “I think it’s great, everybody should have a Trudy in their life” :) and then the captain asks him to be his best man and Monk is very excited and now he won’t open his right hand anymore for fear he’d lose the captain’s ring...
Natalie will bring Steven, the navy medical officer :-)
There was a break-in at the captain’s house and now she’s all scared. The bachelor’s party is at Monk’s house, and he planned it...  I think the words “extra-plain pizza” says it all :/ they all want to leave early, when they see that the captain’s car is on fire! and then at the marriage rehearsal in the church there’s a little bomb too that scares TK so much she runs away. She wants to call it off :/
No surprise it was all TK’s bridesmaid Stephanie’s doing. She had been a fugitive a long time; she killed a man who knew about her and hid the gun in the captain’s tuxedo bag. The captain stops her and Natalie talks to TK and the wedding is on again :) They get married on the beach and it’s beautiful :) Only Monk, Natalie and the captain’s sons are there.
14- Mr Monk and the badge
Monk is reinstated, back a detective! Natalie hugs him on his first day of work and he doesn’t pull back :) Monk is on desk duty for a while, then he’ll be working with someone else, not with the captain. He doesn’t know how to use the technical equipment and can’t take part in the action..
Natalie now has a new job, a concert-planner assistant, and is going to have dinner with the Coldplay :)
A young cop is shot dead and Monk questions his widow at the wake, and almost gets beaten by the other cops. He tells dr Bell “it’s my dream job and it’s making me miserable” and “I can’t believe I was happy before, why didn’t you tell me?”
Later Monk tries to arrest the killer alone and almost gets killed himself, but he overpowers the guy. He resigns and he finds Natalie waiting for him because she knows he needs her.
15- Mr Monk and the end: part 1
Twelve years before, Monk was happy with Trudy, smiling and kissing her, with the house all decorated for Christmas, and Trudy had him promise that he won’t open her present until Christmas. She was very nervous, and we see when she died, and when the captain got the call and told Monk :’(
Now, there’s a murder that could lead Monk to Trudy’s killer, although he doesn’t know it yet, so a guy tries to poison him. Monk feels sick while having dinner with Natalie and Julie and Steven. They take him to a hospital and they need a room full of people to hold him down to take his blood for a test. The doctor says “Someone is trying to kill you, and they may have succeeded” with some kind of poison. The doctor says that he might be dead in three days. The captain is desperate to catch the guy who poisoned him to find out what he used, so that Monk might be saved, but after a long chase the guy gets hit by a train. When he thinks that he’s about to die Monk finally opens Trudy’s gift, and he finds a videotape with a message from Trudy - I always said he should have opened it sooner!!!
16- Mr Monk and the end: part 2
It’s very painful for Monk, Trudy tells him that before meeting him she had an affair with a married man, her law teacher, and she got pregnant, and she had a daughter that died a few minutes after she was born. She tells him that the judge is the father and that he just called her and she’s afraid.
Twelve years without opening that present, and he could have solved the case back then!! I knew it!!
Monk assaults the judge but the guards stop him. Monk escapes from the hospital and goes to him again and finds proof and the judge shoots himself when caught. Monk is cured after Natalie found out where the poison was. The judge said: “take care of her” before dying so Monk finds out that Trudy’s daughter is still alive and they find her and he meets her and he hugs her and cries...
Randy leaves to be chief of police in New Jersey because he’s moving in with Sharona...
Molly is a lot like Trudy and they spend a lot of time together and she likes it and tells him she won’t go anywhere and that he can’t quit his job because he has a gift - and a curse, he says as usual - but she replies that no, it’s a gift, like Trudy said. He takes lots of pictures of her and smiles a lot !
He has someone to love now, Trudy’s daughter ! So he doesn’t quit.
The ending is a collage of old scenes, ending with now, Randy settling in his new office, the captain at home with his Trudy, Monk and Natalie working another case, and Monk has a t-shirt under the jacket, not his usual shirt !
It was a lovely ending.

Hansel & Gretel: witch hunters - 2012

Hansel & Gretel: Witch hunters - 2012
Well, IMDB says 2013 but the credits say 2012. It wasn’t bad, it was fun enough and almost never boring, it’s a pity that the characters were so stupid but the movie is enjoyable nonetheless. Definitely not perfect, but very enjoyable, with a good cast, good costumes, good makeup, good credits.

The story is simple: Hansel and his sister Gretel were abandoned in the woods when they were children; they found a house made of candy but the witch living there trapped them with the intention of eating them, or at least him. We all know the fairytale right? She wanted to make him fat so to eat him but she used the girl as a servant. In this movie, the girl frees herself and stabs the witch repeatedly, then brother and sister threw her into the fire to kill her. The story of the two ‘orphans’  goes around via newspaper, and during the opening credits we see how they grow up, saving children kidnapped by witches and killing the witches.
Now they are all grown-up and witch-hunters by profession. They are hired by the mayor of a city where eleven children have disappeared. They stop the sheriff from burning Mina, an innocent woman, and start investigating. There’s a very powerful witch who needs twelve children born in the twelve months of the year and also the heart of a powerful white witch, to make a spell/potion/something that will make them all invincible, or at least fireproof, not sure they could survive being beheaded. Anyway. There’s a lot of shooting and fighting and then they save the children and stop all the witches; at the end they go on with their hunting and won’t stop until they’ll have killed all the evil witches... with the fanboy guiding them :-/ and Edward helping them :-)
I felt so bad when Mina died saving Hansel, I liked her very much, it was clear from the first moment that she was a good witch, never had any doubt with that fabulous red hair, and I didn’t want her to die. I kept hoping that Gretel would show up in time to use her white magic and save her like Mina had used her own to save Hansel’s life, but no :-/ That was the only thing that left me unhappy with it,  it was such a bitter ending for a movie like this. At least she saved Edward.

I thought that the fanboy was extremely boring. I liked the face, but the character was so stereotyped and boring :-/ Mina’s naked scene was totally useless and therefore the usual annoying cheap trick.
At first both brother and sister think that there are only bad witches and there’s no such thing as a good witch, but then: they are immune to witches’ magic; Edward the Troll saves Gretel’s life and tells her that he did it because ‘Trolls serve witches’; Hansel & Gretel find a lot of witches’ stuff in a house that they realize to be their old childhood house; Muriel tells them that their mother was a very powerful white witch that send them away to save them; Muriel also tells them that she needs the heart of a powerful white witch and wants Gretel’s; Mina saves Hansel’s life after Muriel stabbed him and he acts all hostile, how-did-you-do-it-are-you-a-witch kind of thing, as if he had never heard of white witches before - hadn’t he been listening?? And never they confront or acknowledge the fact that Gretel is a witch herself, never she tries to see if she can do something, it’s as if they hadn’t discovered anything of importance, up to the last scene they keep their usual routine of firearms and crossbows. They say in this movie that Muriel was a specially powerful witch, and we see that she has a coven of a lot of witches, and yet she didn’t attack Gretel’s mother because she was ‘too powerful’ for her... it doesn’t seem a little thing to me!

The witches died in a splatter way, and I’ve read this movie is : dark horror fantasy action : the action is there indeed, the fantasy also since there is magic involved; horror simply because of the splatter, but not so much, I never felt any warning from my stomach or felt scared by it, it’s nothing more than a little splatter to spice up the action scenes.
When they battle the whole coven, before Mina uses a machine gun on them, Hansel tells her 'when you see my signal unleash hell', like a true gladiator :p

I liked the brother-and-sister duo, I would have liked them more together.
