Monk season 4

1- Mr Monk and the other detective
At the crime scene there’s a p.i., Martin Eels, who seems to do better than Monk :-p
Martin was at the hospital at the time of the robbery, because an angry client hit him. Monk thinks he’s cheating, but the captain takes him along. He smells the dog’s poo, tastes the mud, touches dead mosquitos.. he’s doing so well that they ask Monk to step aside for this one case. Kroger tells Monk of another psychiatrist who’s better than him... and Monk’s interested until he hears that he charges 400$ an hour.
Monk figures out how Martin cheated, his mother heard everything on a phone while they thought they were on hold, and told him all about it. The shooter calls Martin saying that he has him mother and wants the stolen jewels back. He panics and asks Monk’s help. They find her and catch the killer, all’s well that ends well.
The case was: a man robbing his jewelery store to pay ransom for his dog, but then a guard sees them and intervenes, gets shot and at that point they shoot the other man too.
2- Mr Monk goes home again
Ambrose calls Monk, their father called and is coming back. They go to see him on trick-or-treat night. Someone with a Frankenstein-monster costume attacks Ambrose and runs away. Ambrose asks Adrian if he’s involved with Natalie and he says “it’s only been eight years”  since Trudy died.
That same guy robs the kids of their candies, but only those that had stopped at Ambrose’s house.
Monk takes Julie trick-or-treating.
Mom was worried because Adrian and Ambrose never laughed, so she made them practice.
Ambrose says that dad left because of him, just like Adrian said. Ambrose tells Natalie that Adrian says so to make him feel better, but it was his fault. Then he asks Natalie out, and she says “maybe”, if one day she gets another job. Monk’s father doesn’t show.
A man put poison in his wife’s favourite chocolate bar, and long story short Ambrose ate it, or so they think at first :p which is good, to kill off Ambrose would be unacceptable.
Back from the hospital, they find a note from their father; he actually came and found nobody. He added that he was proud of Ambrose for getting out of the house..
3- Mr Monk stays in bed
A pizza delivery boy gives Natalie a cold pizza and too much change so she goes after him to give the money back and finds him dead. Monk has the flu and acts like he’s going to die, and has Julie write his will... he thinks he has ebola..
Natalie works on the case alone because all the cops are working on a missing judge case. She’s sure it wasn’t the dead delivery guy Julio delivering her pizza, and she finds the man she thinks came to her house. The guy killed the judge, and Julio saw it and was killed for it. He takes her hostage and goes to the recycling center to find the pizza box with his fingerprints. Monk takes a cab still in his bathrobe and slippers and fights the guy.
End: Julie’s get well card is back in his house with its endless music, so Monk sits outside to avoid it..
4- Mr Monk goes to the office
Monk has cards to know what to say while talking to other cops about various arguments like baseball, and as he walks away they laugh... :-/
A guy is killed and a second victim, Warren Kemp, has his right hand smashed. He asks Monk’s help and he agrees to work in the office. He likes it and is happy :-) thinking that the other employee like him, until he joins their bowling team. He’s very good but they lose because he wouldn’t change his shoes...
Kemp likes Natalie. An interior designer working for that company is killed too. All by a man who was stealing information from the company to make money. The man stole secrets by reading the lips of a business man in his office, killed the designer who wanted to put up curtains there and smashed his right hand to force him to hold the phone with his left hand, so he could see his lips.
End: Monk and Natalie walk out, both losing something..
5- Mr Monk gets drunk
Monk goes to the same Inn once a year because he promised Trudy. They honeymooned there :)
Last year he solved a three-day murder-game in 12 minutes and the Inn had to refund everybody...
Monk is having his dinner ‘with Trudy’ (“thank you for marrying me, what were you thinking?” :P) when a man, Larry, intrudes sitting in her seat and makes him have a sip of wine, before joining a table where people were playing poker. Monk is asked to take their picture, but it’d take too long so the waiter does it :p The next morning Monk looks for him because he said he had something against hangovers, but Larry is not registered, he’s not in his room, and nobody remembers him. Not the owner of the Inn, not the waiter, not the other four guests.
The name of the guy is the same as a signature on a painting. Monk looks at the camera and even the picture is different, just the four people but no Larry. Monk and Natalie start thinking that he imagined him after getting drunk, but then a man comes looking for him and Monk tells him everything! We already know that this man is a murderer.
More people have joined the wine-tasting trip. Monk wants to make him drunk, and for himself he ordered an alcohol-free wine but the waiter got the wrong bottle so he gets drunk as a skunk :p
When the captain arrests him Monk does his summation completely wasted. He says “I love you” to the captain and strokes his face and ears...
The mysterious man died of a heart attack but he had lots and lots of money, so they decided to split the money and make him disappear but Natalie figures out he was hidden in the wine.
Rather a stupid plot.
6- Mr Monk and Mrs Monk
Kroger is a few minutes late :p Natalie sees a woman looking just like Trudy, and a man even calls her Trudy. Monk tells Kroger that he thinks Trudy told him to let go, and he’s happy, he’s making real progress and doesn’t put things in order like he always did, and after waiting for so long Kroger cries :p Natalie tells the captain about the woman, but not Monk, but when the man Trudy was with dies in an accident fighting with her, Monk joins the case, so she has to tell him, and then he sees her. Poor Monk... They call Kroger because Monk’s in shock and he goes out to find her.
Trudy was a great reporter, but this woman is an actress impersonating her to retrieve some documents. This poor woman dies too, in his arms :( a sad scene indeed :( and so Monk is back where he was, after such a trauma..
7- Mr Monk goes to a wedding
It’s Randy’s birthday but his cake is ruined because of one of Monk’s bizarre ideas. Randy volunteers to go with Natalie to her brother Jonathan’s wedding. She comes from a rich family, the Davenports, but she doesn’t like them because they disapproved of Mitch. I understand her, I can’t stand her mother either.
Monk refused to go and the captain checks on him and gets him to talk about his own marriage ceremony to cheer him up.
Someone hits Randy with the car.
When a body is found in the mud at the spa-room, Monk goes to the bachelorette-party room to get Natalie and calls the stripper too, thinking that he’s a real cop.
The captain discovers that Teresa, the bride, is a black widow, she killed her previous husband and she hit Randy because at the time he investigated the case. Natalie tells her mother but of course she doesn’t believe her. Teresa wants to run away for her honeymoon as soon as possible so Monk gives a sort of speech to stall them until the captain can bring poor Randy down to ID her.
End: Natalie’s mom finally puts on the piano a picture of her with her Mitch, which means a lot to her..
8- Mr Monk and little Monk
We see little Monk with his mother, when he went to ‘Westover Junior High’, and we learn where he got his ‘you’ll thank me later’ attitude. A girl he liked back then comes to him now to ask his help because two men broke in her house and killed her housemaid. He liked her in school, he wanted to ask her to dance but never did and another boy asked her. Natalie tells him to ask her out now because she likes him and he says that it’s not possible because “she knows me”... and anyway before he can do it Jimmy shows up, the same guy that took her to that dance.
At school Sherri was accused of stealing money but Monk found out how a boy framed her (changing locks).
Sherri’s ex-husband was tired of paying alimony so he hired two men to ruin a painting she loved so that she’d take it to be restored and could meet Jimmy again and get remarried so he could stop paying. It worked, they are together now.
Poor housemaid...
9- Mr Monk and the secret Santa
A drugged wine is delivered to the captain. They’re planning a Christmas party at the station. Randy plays with Karen’s guitar, then the captain plays it and sings at the party :-).
Julie has never seen snow.
Monk is the captain’s secret Santa and gets him an air purifier. A woman he told before was alone like him and ‘his age’ gave him a little broom-kit that he loved.
The captain loses the present he had to give a man there, so he gives him the bottle of port and the man dies. The port was poisoned.
The captain thinks it’s the same man that four months before shot at him five times and somehow missed. Monk wants to talk to his daughter, so Natalie has Monk play Santa Claus at a mall while she’s dressed as one of the elves, but he’s terrible at it, he doesn’t want to kiss the children or even to have them seat on his lap, and he tells a little girl called Trudy about the car-bomb... an agony really.
That suspect proves innocent after all.
Monk gives Julie a first-aid kit as a present, and Julie and Natalie give him a fish in a bowl, a dying thing as he puts it...
It turns out it was Monk’s secret Santa woman, and she intended to kill exactly that man because he broke up with her, and it was all a plan, giving it to the captain knowing that he doesn’t like port, then suggesting him the idea of giving it to that man.
End: it snows and Julie’s happy. The last time it snowed it was the day Trudy died, Monk says (although we never saw any snow or any winter-related images connected to that day before), and I hoped that he would open Trudy’s last gift but the episode ended with him opening his arms under the falling snow instead...
I don’t agree with him at all, he should have opened her gift right away, she meant him to have it! By not opening it he’s not keeping her ‘alive’, he’s denying her!
10- Mr Monk goes to a fashion show
Monk goes to buy a shirt and the man Dennis that usually served him quit “because someone was making him crazy”, and there’s no doubting who that was..
Monk only buys shirts inspected by “inspector n. 8” and is upset because this time she did a bad work and that’s “not like her”. He solves a case in two seconds noticing the wife of a stabbed man had lied to the police, then he goes looking for inspector n.8. He even told Natalie that he loves her, and he wrote her an appreciation letter. He was right, she wasn’t paying the usual attention to her job because she’s upset, her son is accused of something she’s sure he didn’t do. Natalie has to force him to help her, he only wants her to concentrate on her work. Monk meets the kid in jail but has a hard time believing him, but then he finds out that Pablo can’t read English because he was raised in Mexico, and the killer could, so he starts believing. Monk needs to speak to a model so the captain and Randy join him *rollingeyes*.
Monk is bothered because a model has a mole on one shoulder and none on the other. Later she’s found dead.
A fashion designer wants 13-year-old Julie to model for him. Natalie told her not to wear make-up until she’s 18 - seriously? in America? come on... Anyway, Natalie lets her try the modeling job but immediately takes her home when Monk tells her that this horrible man killed both Natasha and Cleo the year before. Julian Hodge is his name. Julie runs away to make it to the show and Natalie walks the walk to take her away. Monk realizes that if the evidence points so strongly to Pablo it was because the forensic expert falsified it. When he saw that it pointed to rich Hodge he decided to make money out of it and framed poor Pablo. They arrest both Hodge and the expert, and Pablo is released, and Monk wants inspector n.8 to go back to work right away because he has only five shirts...
11- Mr Monk bumps his head
Monk meets a man who promised him information on Trudy’s case. He gives him a fake picture of a man with six fingers then hits him and leaves. Taken away on the back of a big truck, Monk wakes up dirty and confused, and already all unbuttoned! When did that happen? While he was unconscious?
Anyway, he can’t remember anything, and a crazy woman, Cora, starts saying that he’s her husband and takes him home. She gives him borrowed clothes, calls him Jerry and wants him to do repairs around the house.
Natalie is worried sick; the police find the guy that robbed him.
Monk thinks that a girl has been murdered and that something happened to a guy. At first the sheriff doesn’t believe him, but then calls him and wants to make him his deputy.
Cora hates cops though. When she wants him to kiss her he starts thinking of ‘a Trudy’ ...
Of course he solves the case: the poor girl was pregnant but the guy was married. He hit her and killed her.
All those bees game me nightmares, and I wasn’t surprised when Monk asked “could you kill me please?” :p The captain, Randy and Natalie find him and go pick him up
12- Mr Monk and the captain’s marriage
There’s been a murder at a junkyard. A cop there talks about the captain’s wife: “one hell of a woman, you should treat her better” and that kind of things, until the captain punches him and the guy spits blood. He goes home enraged but of course his wife denies everything, she denies even knowing him. They’ve been having problems, but not of the cheating kind.
He was very touching while he was talking to her..
He asks Monk to follow Karen to know where she goes :-/ Not good :-/
Monk runs away from a park because a little girl is about to puke.
They see Karen talking to a man and take pictures. There’s clearly disaster ahead :-/
At the anger management course the woman gives Leland a yoyo :p The homeless witness has a pet mouse, Divo. Randy puts it in Monk’s jacket so he later throws away the jacket. Natalie gives the captain the pictures and he’s of course sure that Karen is having an affair with that cop Sharkey :-/
Randy puts him in a line up so the captain bursts in there and ruins everything. Karen says that she’s never seen him but he insists. Monk figures out that he’s the murderer, he staged the whole Karen thing to enrage the captain (everybody knows that’s easy to do) so that there would be a good excuse if his dna was found on the scene.
Karen was not having an affair, she wants a divorce. Leland packs two cases and leaves the house heartbroken...
13- Mr Monk and the big reward
Monk has no money and Natalie has little, because he hasn’t paid her yet, and he has to leave something back at the market. She tells him to ask for a raise.
A big diamond has been stolen. Monk complains about the cleaning lady Gladys at the station because she doesn’t clean under the tables and such...
Natalie asks him to find the diamond for the million dollar reward, and eventually he accepts. It’s so annoying all that “I don’t do it for the money” :-/  It was deeply annoying, let him go without Natalie for a bit and let’s see if he’ll keep saying that when he won’t have money for food or house bills, the guy who only drinks special water and has more cleaning products than a cleaning products factory...
Because of the big reward, there are other people trying to find it. Monk solves the case, but Gladys finds the diamond while cleaning under the table and she wins the reward....
The girl that came in confessing of stealing a pen or disposing of the corpse of a mouse is arrested for murdering the accomplice of her boyfriend.
14- Mr Monk and the astronaut
Steve, a famous astronaut, kills a girl about to publish a book, but everybody thought that he was in space when she died. Natalie brings both Steve and Monk to Julie’s class on career’s day, but he doesn’t do good at first, things get better when he talks about the case, but go quickly down when the kids start pointing lights at him and he freaks out (and nobody said anything... no teacher said stop! or behave! or anything...)
Talking to his doctor he says, again, that he’s so tired of being scared.
Steve drugged her than tied her up and put a noose around her neck, then he remotely activated a garage door that lifted her up and killed her while he was in space.
Steve takes the neighbour’s daughter’s doll where the remote control is hidden, and plans to throw it off  his plane but Monk stops him, standing in front of his plane.
15- Mr Monk goes to the dentist
Randy cries for a toothache, and Natalie thinks that he’s crying for the dead people instead at first..
He goes to the dentist and he’s put under general anaesthesia... seriously?? for a tooth?? for real?
He sees a fight but when he wakes up both the dentist and the assistant are all smiling, and when he talks about it to the captain he doesn’t take him seriously because he had been sedated. Randy asks Monk’s help but Monk ‘has a thing for dentists’ but Natalie insists. Later a man turns up dead and Randy recognizes him as the man that fought with the dentist, so he quits because the other cops laugh at him and the captain doesn’t believe him. He goes back to his musical band :-/ the Randy Disher Project...
An armed car was highjacked, emptied, and the drivers killed. One of the robbers was the one Randy saw at the dentist’s, an ex-cop. Leland goes to tell Randy that he misses him but he replies that it’s too late. Dr Bloom is suspicious of what Monk might know and kidnaps him with his hygienist Terry.
He wakes up in the doctor’s chair and understands what happened : that ex-cop that killed the guards went to the doctor for a tooth and while he was sedated he told them everything and they took the money...
It’s a very traumatic experience for Monk, I mean much more than usual. Randy, Leland and Natalie save him and Randy’s back.
16- Mr Monk gets jury duty
Monk has been summoned as a juror. He says that he works alone and Natalie thinks that that’s sad - and Monk agrees. She says it’d be good for him to be picked as juror, to work with other people, but Monk disagrees: “I know you mean well, but I’d rather be sucked out of an airplane window”
He tries to get out of it but the judge declares him juror n.11. The other jurors all say guilty, but not Monk.
The captain is escorting a dangerous criminal. Juror n.12 killed a woman to be part of the jury and try to help her man escape. She tied up all eleven jurors, but from outside Natalie saw an uneven window blind and understood that something was wrong :-p of course.
Of course all ends well.
