Life on Mars series 1

in progress. only ep 1 for now.

1-
It's 2006, Sam is a DCI. They arrest Colin, a man who appears to be innocent but Maya thinks he's involved anyway and trails him and is taken. While he's crying over it, and listening to 'Life on Mars' by Bowie, Sam gets hit by a car. He wakes up in the past, a detective inspector wearing 70s clothes.
His boss is now DCI Gene Hunt. It's 1973 - he says that he was 4 in 1973, and that he's 33 years in the past. He thinks he's going crazy and says 'help me' to 'nurse' Annie.
There's a case that resembles completely his own case, and he keeps thinking it's some kind of joke. It's not only a similar case, he thinks it's the same murderer. With Sam's help, they arrest the guy and save the last girl, Dora. The guy was little Colin's neighbour. The guy will be locked up for 30 years and then he'll start killing again, and he'll take Maya.
Hunt leaves it to him to decide if he'll tell the judge about him being mentally unstable or not, but Sam throws away the piece of paper.
From time to time Sam hears and sees Neil, who says he's a psychotherapist speaking to his subconscious, at his hospital bedside. He tells him to wake up, but then when he thinks that he only has to die here to wake up again in his own time, Annie tells him that Neil is her ex-boyfriend, a psychologist, and Neil shouts "don't do it!" and "I'm sorry, bad joke"...
well, what kind of a therapist is he? Saying that he's in a coma, that he can escape, that he only needs to "take that definite step" to wake up with his family and friends around... what Sam did next was not surprising after that, going to the roof thinking of the definite step he needs to take...
I mean, bad joke?? Anyway.
Annie tries to stop him and convince him to stay, that this is real and he's making a difference, and he seems to be doubting that all this is just a trick of his imagination... he asks her what should he do, and she says "stay".

Ghost whisperer - season 3

in progress
Missing eps from 14 to 18 (end).

1- The underneath
A surprise party for Melinda, for saving those kids and she receives the city's recognition & thanks :-)
Melinda wears pants and a tank top, she looks good, actually better :-)
She sees strange things on walls and floors. She goes to her mom saying that she thinks 'dad's dead', because "I saw him when I died on the field... he said I have a brother". She says that she does not have a second child. Melinda asks Jim "Am I being obsessive?" - "yes, but with good reasons" :) lovely Jim.
In the pictures taken at the party, there is a man, maybe a ghost?
A girl brings to Melinda a box of old stuff to sell. She's an orphan. Her dad is haunting Melinda, accusing her of letting someone die. Melinda's father helps her in a dream. Melinda's mom was there when the guy died, she saw his ghost but refused to help, she talked to his wife but only said "your husband.." and nothing more, she wouldn't talk about ghosts, so the woman ran on and died. It was a big gas leak or something, a big hole in the ground, an explosion... "I never learned to deal with them... I just can't stand to feel their pain, it stops me cold" and "just leave me alone".
Melinda helps the man and his daughter. The only thing her mom tells her at the end is to leave Grandview because it'll hurt her but of course she refuses.
The blog guy now goes to Payne and guess what? The genius leaves him alone so of course he makes a copy of all Melinda's photos from his computer :-/
Somehow I think I know this actress playing Jennifer... but I can't place her.
2- Don't try this at home
The myth of Bloody Mary. A girl with a heart condition died of scare, and now disguised as bloody Mary Rachel seeks revenge. Two girls are in a coma, but not dead. Melinda talks to Rachel and her parents. The two girls wake up.
It was actually a nice episode :-)
3- Haunted hero
Grandview's "war hero" comes back home; Melinda and Jim meet him at the bus. She sees things and hears war sounds, and strangely the others hear the shots too. There's a video on the net showing Matt making it to the Humvee and driving away leaving his men behind. The father of a dead soldier wants an investigation. There is proof to help Matt, all the bulletts are on the front of the vehicle, meaning that he was driving towards the enemy and danger, not away from it.
Another episode where ghosts actions can be noticed by the living :-/
Matt tried to go alone, a suicide mission to save his men, but his gun jammed.
When there were no more enemies the team came to get him and all died because of a bomb, and he couldn't take it. Something like that, he was very troubled, haunted by his memories.
4- No safe place
Melinda sees a ghost of a girl and thinks that she's a man's dead girlfriend, but he tells her that Colleen was crazy, a stalker. She investigates, goes to her place and finds a restraining order: he was stalking her! He was sending flowers to her! Now she wants revenge. Shane made all her friends go away. Only her detective stayed and knew the truth. Now Shane plans to stalk Melinda. With Colleen's help she hacks in to his computer and sends his secret files to everyone in the firm, plus clients and the detective, so now he's ruined. He can finally be charged :) He kills himself and his ghost goes to her! Stalking her again...
Somehow hands got him and took him down, through her basement's wall. There's something there... Well, she ran away but it worked out well for her! He was saying how he liked the new situation because "now we can be together forever" and was moving towards her when he was pulled back.
5- Weight of what was
Gabriel comes to Melinda's house, and Jim is all protective, pushing him out :)
He gives her something, talks about finding 'their' father, tells her that his mom was in the same psychiatric hospital he was in. Later on a ghost comes to her, saying that 'they took her baby', and Melinda thinks it's Gabriel's mother, but before she can talk more she's pulled in the wall like Shane. There are dark spirits hidden underground. Melinda tells Jim about proof that Gabriel is her half-brother?!? Dr Lawrence's tests? I don't remember any test of this kind, what is this about??
Amy Acker plays the ghost :-)
Melinda and Payne find old teeth. It turns out that the ghost is not Gabriel's mother, she says she's called Tessa. Melinda finds that a strange fever caused people to go insane, dozens died, people killed each other... Tessa saw a ghost who warned her and she tried to warn the others.
Melinda goes alone at night to investigate where the church where many died was. She moves some shelves (so easily :-p ) at the Archives, she opens a door and goes inside alone. A ghost tells Gabriel and so he goes to the City Hall Archives to close the door, trapping her inside!
Melinda finds old 'Clay Street' down there. Tessa lived and died there. The church is there too. A priest locked people inside to protect them but only had water and bread to feed them and the bread was bad, it caused the fever and the insanity so the priest set a fire killing everyone and himself too. Since Tessa had warned them that a ghost said the fever would come, they thought she was a witch (of course, it was 1840 or something). They took her away from her baby and locked her up in the church to stay with the ones 'she had killed'.
Melinda enters the church, talks to the ghosts, explaining that it was the bread and not bad magic, but the evil ghost threatens her (was it the priest?)  and she runs away because now the place is shaking.
Tessa's baby was actually Melinda's great-great-grandmother.
Jim won't stop until he finds her and she's saved.
At the end, Melissa's dad tells Gabriel to not kill her next time he asks his help with his sister, which seems ok, but then he adds that she'll have to join them when the time comes! Oh my, it seems dad and Gabriel are on the same side.. :(
 - How is it that whenever they cook, Melinda and Jim are always shown chopping vegetables? :-p
6- Double exposure
Rick Payne's date doesn't show up in pictures, so he goes to tell Melinda, and she investigates. This teacher, Claudia, Rick's date, had a little story with  a student, Kevin. He had a girlfriend, Sophie. She found out about them and was so hurt that she attempted suicide, sending him the message (how?? was it livestream??). He saw it and ran to her but died in a car crash, thinking that she was dead, but she wasn't. Melinda has Kevin talk to both Sophie and Claudia. Sophie forgives him and he crosses over.
Jim thinks about going to medical school, but ti would mean leaving Grandview. At the end, she tells him, "when you get into med school I'll be right there with you", but first he has to study.
Then she takes pictures of herself and sees behind her lots of spirits.
7- Unhappy medium
A man, Casey, says he can communicate with spirits and writes books about it. Melinda doesn't believe him. When he consults on an on-going case, she gets involved. A girl is missing, he says she's alive but Melinda finds out that she's not. They join forces and they find her body. Without him, how could she have explained to the cops how she found Sidney's body in the woods?
She was her mother's perfect girl and to keep up with the expectations Sidney started taking drugs to stay alive. Her sister Nikky wanted to help her and called her ex-boyfriend and tried on her the same way he got out of those drugs-addictions. They locked her in a cabin in the woods and took turns in caring for her. One day he unlocked her for a bath and she hit him and ran. She got lost, fell and died. She doesn't blame Nikky, she knows that she loved her and was trying to help her, and wants her mom to love Nikky as she loved her.
Melinda and Casey are no more enemies now, she tells him that he has a gift, although he's more of a profiler than a psychic, and also that he did help her... still, if he was in such good faith, really thinking that he could feel the girl was alive, then how come he pretended to see that she was with a man dressed exactly like Melinda had told him??
Anyway, in this ep she tells her secret to Sydney's mom and sister and of course to Casey. How come there is still someone who doesn't know?? Nobody talks to each other in that place? She keeps going around telling everyone!
8- Bad blood
A house is haunted :-p by two spirits: n1 the young wife who killed her old rich husband; n2 the son of that man, who was having an affair with his stepmother.
Everytime someone goes to live in that house, they try to control them. Now, a man and his daughter, full of guilt over his wife's death (but it was an accident, he let her fall to save their 15-y-o daughter) come to live right there, and almost kill each other because the spirits of Matt and Vivian told them to. When the wife/mother crosses over and Melinda explains about the mischievous couple, he knows that he can't sell the house knowing about them, so he opens the gas and blows up the house. The ghosts are still there, waiting... :-/
9- All ghosts lead to Grandview
Melinda and Jim are camping. They find a stray kid, Becca: she ran away and is scared. A ghost is terrifying her. She sees him too. Melinda tries to help her, teaching her how to deal with ghosts, how to help them cross over. Becca is scared, she doesn't want all this, plus her parents come to pick her up and she pretends that she just lied, she tells them that she's ok now and that she sees nothing strange really, so they won't try to lock her away. The ghost Daniel keeps going to her so she runs away again to help him. Melinda goes to her too in her basement and together they help him find his dead parents and all three cross over. Becca can finally prove to her parents that she can see ghosts.
At the end of the ep, Melinda meets Gabriel again and they talk a little.
10- Holiday spirit
It's Christmas, and the shop is actually full. A child buys a gift for his mom when a ghost makes his dad burn his hand. Melinda delivers the gift personally to have an excuse to poke around. It happens again and the ghost tells her "I want him to know what it's like to lose everything". The ghost says that he's Santa Claus and he's trying to help the kid, he wants the dad to pay attention to him. He separated from his wife because she cheated and he's not sure the kid is his son. Melinda understands Santa's letter was from William, not little Riley, and Santa is actually William's birth father. She helps them talk and make peace and be a family again.
The ghost does not cross over though because he likes being Santa Claus and he likes that kids can see him.
Melinda has her Christmas party. She was late at home so Jim brought the party to her at the shop.
11- Slam
Ned plays basket ( how he's grown up! ) and Delia and Melinda are at the game. He's sitting down, not playing, but weird things start happening. Melinda sees the ghost of Tomas, Lucy's brother, a girl Ned likes. Thomas had a fight over a girl and got pushed once against the blackboard, but he hit his head. Lucy was secretly writing to Krista, she liked her, but Thomas wanted to protect her from that and went in her place at the meeting and fought with Krista's bf over nothing. He went in her place because he was worried that, after knowing that she had been writing to a girl, Krista would have spread evil gossip and tried to protect her. At the end, before crossing over, Thomas makes sure that she's not blamed by the police or the school for what he did, and also makes her meet Krista after all. Lucy was right, she kind of knew it was her all along, hoped it was her..
Justin, the vlogger that some time ago stole Payne's files on Melinda goes to tell her that he knows that she sees ghosts. He tells her that he'll keep her secret but she owes him a favour now.. :-/
The scene with Melinda running away from the bats was a bit ridiculous :-/
12- First do no harm
There's a fire in the middle of the night so Jim is called to work. There's a guy trapped but they can't help him. Melinda sees his ghost and is afraid he might haunt Jim, but she meets his brother and tells him right away her 'secret' (... how many people do know about it by now? it's incredible there's still someone who doesn't know...)
She has it all mixed up, so sure the ghost was haunting Jim, so worried, she had a man pouring his heart out to a complete stranger ghost, then she found out this ghosts didn't die in the fire at all. This man Peter Harrison tells her a doctor, now passing for a nurse, killed him, because he was confused and didn't remember that he had asked for her help. She did it, eutanasia, because he had asked her, and there was nothing that could be done to heal him.
Jim is upset because she didn't tell him when she thought he was being haunted, but he loves her too much anyway. Jim is the one bringing peace to Joe, the brother of the man that died in the fire. Melinda tells Jim how important he is and how he makes the difference in everything he does every day. (Good, that's so true, he's so unreal than the I-see-ghosts-part )
13- Home but not alone
Ned has a girl, Lisa, but strange things happen. Melinda thinks it's the ghost of Lisa's dead father. Delia forbids Ned to see Lisa again but he does anyway. Melinda tries to help Lisa and her little brother, but their older sister pushes her away. Then Lisa tells Ned that her mom's gone for two days, went to meet a boyfriend and never came back, and she doesn't know what to do. They call the police. Young Henry tells Melinda that her dad was not abusive like gossiping people think, he was a good dad. They are all looking for her mom now and the sisters stage a phone call from her to make people believe she's fine. Melinda calls the police with an excuse to find mom's body buried in the garden. She had cancer, and it was her idea to hide her death, so they could stay together; the older sister has been doing her work, and pretending to be her, not having a life anymore, but now social workers will separate them. Melinda finds a sort of secret sister the kid's mother had. They hadn't seen each other for a long long time, but now she takes them in so they can stay together as a family :-)

ハネムーン Honeymoon by Banana Yoshimoto

This was... tougher to read than usual; with Yoshimoto the reader gets used to characters mourning or experiencing difficult moments in their lives, but honestly this children-murdering-cult was a bit too much for me, this is definitely one book I'm not keen to read again.
It's a sort of weird love story, they have been together since they were children, they felt somehow different but comfortable when they were together, he spent a lot of time at her house and often slept in her bed, and when she got sick he kept on leaving flowers outside her window for her. But, he's always been troubled because of his parents who left him to follow a strange-dangerous cult, so he lived all his life with this death-weight hanging over his heart.
As often in her books, there is nothing exactly romantic, the characters are very matter-of-factly about their relationship and sex, they are simply a constant presence in each other's life and can't think of it without the other.
In details:
Manaka is 23, lives in a house with a garden and spends a lot of time there, in silence. Hiroshi lives near, since they were children. She has a dog, Olive, and they both love it. He lives alone with his grandfather and is always with Manaka and accepted in her house so when they turn 18 they get married. When his grandfather dies it's very difficult for him, he always lived in fear that he'd die. He works to put his things away by himself, but then Manaka goes to stay with him, she doesn't want to leave him there alone. There's a room with an altar, eerie and stinky...  his father is in a strange cult, and he gets news that he died in a group suicide, or at least that's what everyone thinks since the cult members died together in a fire.
When Hiroshi started high-school, a friend of his father came to see him. The night before Manaka had a terrible nightmare, so Hiroshi and Manaka 'ran' away together, so he wouldn't meet the guy, and he came out with the idea  'come on, let's get married' .
Manaka's biological mom lives in Australia, and her everyday mom lives with her and her father and they love each other very much. The second mom is a bit afraid, she thinks that it's not good for her to be everyday with someone so depressed, that they should do something, change air a bit, so they could travel together, for example they could go to visit her mother in Brisbane.
When they get there, they see that mom is pregnant, Manaka didn't know that. But they are not strangers to each other, they have a rather good relationship and love each other.
For Manaka and Hiroshi it's like a honeymoon, everything is different, even the colour of the blankets is different from what they have in Japan. They go to see the koalas and Hiroshi says that sometimes he thinks he can understand what animals say or think, they have breakfast in a bar, they go to an island to watch the dolphins, everything done slowly and rather quietly.
Her mom tells them a story that Manaka didn't know, of how her marriage ended. She realised that one day her husband and that woman would have loved each other and she would have lost, so she didn't say a thing, she started a wild life and eventually tried to drown herself in the sea (but never wants her ex and his wife to know about this because they would feel terrible about it and she doesn't want that)  but she didn't drown because the pills she took didn't have any effect on her so she kept being awake and afloat, and grabbed a ball that went towards her and it took her ashore; she gave the ball back to a couple and slept in a boat, then in the morning she went to catch a train to go away.

For Hiroshi and Manaka this is a chance to know more about each other, to talk, and Hiroshi tells her something that has always weighted on him. His father was in a murderous cult, he heard people talk when he was in high-school, saying that in that cult they used to make babies and then they would let them starve to death and then they would eat the bodies because they believed that they would gain some kind of powers through that... so young Hiroshi always felt this weight, even before knowing if there was any truth is it, like 'I'm alive while all my siblings are dead' (at this Manaka thinks that all the blood in her nightmare represented the blood of his dead brothers); he always lived thinking he had in him the same blood of someone who does these things.
Before going back, they talk of getting a dog, because Olive always helped him.

Maldamore - 2014

Everybody screams so much, it was unbearable. Not funny at all, and definitely too loud, I really don’t see why they had to shout so much all the time. Also, I hate the ending, really hate it. The smirk on Marco’s face after making it clear that he’ll keep on cheating as always, but since he’s the man that’s supposed to be funny or good or something? I think it’s pathetic.
It’s the story of two couples:
Sandra is married to Paolo, and the only trouble in their relationship seems to be the fact that they don’t have children yet, as much as they try.
Paolo’s sister Veronica is married to Marco. They have a six-year-old daughter and Veronica is already having crisis feeling like she’s getting old. Veronica still uses a baby-monitor, so when the two men talk, close to the child’s room, the women can hear everything. Marco starts talking about how ‘they’ do it all the time, like horny teenagers, and Veronica thinks he’s just talking bullshit until she realises that he’s talking of another woman. He’s been having an affair, a few months now, and he presses Paolo to confess that he cheated too, although only once.
The women get angry. Paolo keeps saying that it was nothing, that his excuse is that they were having troubles, that he loves her and all that easy words, until she confesses that she cheated too, once. Things change, now. He apparently can’t let it go, keeps thinking about her with the other man (she won’t say who he is). She goes to her sister’s home.
Veronica throws Marco out of the house, she’s more than angry. The other woman is a 23-year-old girl...
Veronica and Sandra meet at a bar to talk, and Veronica starts drinking and yelling, embarrassing Sandra. When Sandra confesses, Veronica thinks it should be easier for them, since they are even :-/
Paolo can’t let it go, keeps thinking who the other man might be. Veronica meets Luigi, a young guy who likes her.
Marco’s girl Beba shows up at his workplace embarrassing him. She’s quite happy that he told his wife, and when they meet later she’s angry because he said that he didn’t stand his wife anymore and yet now he’s acting double-face. He keeps calling Veronica and telling sweet-words to Beba :-/ Marco says that he’s obsessed with sex and death, that it’s a natural thing and other crap like that.
Veronica keeps meeting Luigi who tells her that he likes her a lot and wants to see her again and gives her his number, hoping she’ll go out with him.
Paolo is having a hard time with a woman at work; they were together three years some time ago, and when he insists Sabrina admits that she cheated too. They talk about his situation and she says that maybe Sandra doesn’t want to say it because she’s protecting someone at work. Sandra’s coworker Antonio tells her that he’s in love with her (after she throws up in his car) and there’s a lot more yelling. Paolo goes to Sabrina’s house, and after a drink he kisses her and has sex with her.
After a lot of thinking and drinking and smoking, Veronica calls Luigi. She goes to his house, they eat and talk a lot, and it turns out he was the one who kept calling her house. She goes out but then she comes back and has sex with him.
Marco picks up a woman in a bar, Lidia. She’s been drinking more than him, then takes him to.. her office I think. She handcuffs him to a heater and then tries using a whip but he screams and she stops and starts crying and talking about her problems until she passes out. When Beba calls him he tells her to go to that address to help him. Obviously when she gets there she’s angry at him for the whole situation, so instead of freeing him she whips him a few times and makes a video with her phone. She asks for her house-keys before giving him the keys of the handcuffs.
Sandra locks herself out by mistake, and witnesses her neighbour Piero trying to kill himself. She convinces him to go back in and help her get back in the house. They talk all night then she faints.
He calls Paolo saying that Sandra is at the hospital. He runs there (making Sabrina angry of course), and it turns out that she’s pregnant.
Veronica sees Marco outside their home, and lets him go in because he’s in bad shape (stiff neck).
The scene moves to months later, after the baby’s born. We finally find out who was the other man in Sandra’s case: Luigi. He prays on women in a marital crisis.
Marco seems to be the same as always, still the same words, still going after younger women, and the movie ends like this, with his stupid smirk after a girl smiles at him, another one he had an affair with. Disgusting. They tell us that since he was young he was so afraid of death that at a funeral he concentrated on his aunt's legs and became obsessed with sex... :-/ 🙅🙅

Final destination - 2000

It was ok, interesting. Not really sure why it became SO famous though. The story is the best thing, quite interesting, although it’s not clear why Alex has this visions, still the plot is rather good.
I don’t agree with the casting here and there, for example Alex: I found this Devon Sawa’s acting quite plain, plus he would often assume that stunned-open-mouthed-face, looking dumb, or his best friend Tod who looked more like a dangerous-crazy-psycho than a horny teenager.
So, the story:
Alex should leave with his classmates and a couple of teachers for France. At the airport he feels strange - looking at the words ‘terminal’ and ‘departed’ as if they had a sinister meaning, plus listening to a song by John Denver who died in a plane crash... he may feel uneasy but he boards the plane with the others. He sits down, two girls ask him to change seats, he does and notices a broken piece, then the plane takes off, explodes and everybody dies. He wakes up from what was actually a premonition, is startled when the two girls ask him to change seats, but when he sees the broken piece he gets terrified and starts screaming that the plane will explode. Another boy Carter starts fighting with him just because that’s what he does apparently, and security takes them out of the plane. Carter’s girlfriend Terry goes with him, Tod follows his friend, Billy finds himself outside simply because caught in the way, and Claire gets out too just because she believed him. A teacher says she’ll stay with them while the other teacher who knows French should go to France with the others. They all think he’s crazy but then the plane explodes and everyone on board dies.
Moving on is difficult of course. After a memorial a few weeks later, Alex sort of has another premonition, a little piece of paper with only the letters Tod in it. He goes to his friend’s house and learns that he died, strangled in the bathroom. His father thinks he killed himself because he survived while his brother died on the plane. Alex talks to Clare and they decide to go see Tod (why, I don’t know, it’s not like they can talk to him). They are found out by the mortician who tells them that “in death there are no accidents, no coincidences, no mishaps and no escapes”, that  they cheated death, they disrupted Death’s designed plan and that now Death has a new design for them.
Alex tells Clare that they must look out for messages, signs, to keep cheating death. He sees a bus reflected on a glass window but there are no buses around. Carter is driving by, but when he sees him he stops because as always he wants to fight with him. Terry is fed up with them always shouting at each other (as we all are) and she leaves, alone. She turns and walks in the street and a bus hits her fully killing her.
When the tv explains how the plane exploded, Ales sees a pattern there, and matches it with the seats they were on, realising they are now dying in the same order they were supposed to die on the plane. First Tod, then Terry, then the teacher. He goes outside her house (she’s packing her stuff planning to move away). He apparently wants to check if things are in order, if her car is ok or something, but seeing him outside she calls the FBI guys who interrogated them at the airport, so he’s taken away, but of course they let him go after a while because they have no reason to detain him. He goes to her house right away, to find her bleeding on the floor. The way she died was really something. In another movie it would have been ridiculous, the apotheosis of bad luck - the mug crack by itself, some vodka fall on the old computer, it starts smoking then explodes and a piece of monitor-glass cuts her throat. Bleeding all over, she stumbles onwards. Sparks from the computer light a trail of fire following the vodka that had fallen on the floor (actually there’s so much on the floor the mug wouldn’t have been enough for all that), the fire follows her back to the kitchen and the bottle, there’s an explosion, she falls on the floor, she tries to take a wash cloth presumably to stop the bleeding, but it causes some knifes to fall down and one of them stabs her in the chest. Alex arrives there, tries to stop all the things on a shelf to fall down, but he can’t stop a chair who falls on her pushing the knife down more. Alex takes the knife out with his hand, drops it and runs away before the house explodes. Absurd, but in this movie it is rather ok because they are not coincidences or bad luck, she must die, it’s Death’s plan and there’s nothing natural about what’s happening (like the water that made Tod slip and then receded back to where it came).
Obviously now Alex doesn’t go home thinking the FBI will be looking for him. Clare calls Carter and Billy and finds Alex (quite easily actually), and he tells them his idea. Carter understands that he’s next, and starts speeding, then stops the car on a railroad track saying he’ll die under his own terms, but then changes his mind, but he can’t get out by himself. Alex rushes to help him, he saw in a vision a broken seatbelt, and right on, Carter’s seatbelt breaks and Alex can pull him out of the car saving his life. Instead, Billy gets killed by some kind of piece of metal hit by the train, or something, anyway his head is cut in half while he’s still standing. Alex realises that Death moved on to the next, that they can cheat death if he sees it beforehand and intervenes.
Alex thinks he’s next so he tries to watch out for anything, hidden inside Clare’s cabin, then he remembers that he didn’t change seats, so Clare is actually next, not him. He runs to her.
Another freak chain of events, water, lightings and stuff, and she’s stuck on a car that will probably blow up very soon, so Alex tells her that the only way is for him to take her place. He grabs the wild cables flying around with his bare hands.
Clare manages to escape from the car, the FBI guys that were chasing him arrive to witness what he did, then Clare runs to him hoping he’s not dead.  As he should be. Why is he not dead?
Anyway, next scene is six months later, the three of them finally make it to France, but Alex still talks about it all. Alex says that Clare was skipped because he intervened, but nobody intervened for him so he’s still next. He sees some signs that scare him and he walks away telling them to stay away from him.
Clare feels something and yells his name so he stops before getting it by a but/truck or whatever it was. Then a big neon-sign falls down and it would have killed Alex but Carter pushes him down saving him. So, someone intervened, Death skipped Alex moving on to the next. Carter asks “who’s next?” and we see the neon sign coming towards him and we hear a big noise before the screen goes black.
This, I think, clearly means that it will never stop. Alex and Clare will keep being the targets, unless they manage to keep saving each other...

All roads lead to Rome - 2015

Oh my, this was bad, a real pain. The only nice things, when the old lady pulled the handbrake and when that girl who gave them a ride on her ‘ape’-van (one of the big ones), kept flirting with Summer, they were sweet :-/  That was the only things that I hadn’t predicted from the very start: instead of an Italian boyfriend, she found an Italian girlfriend. Nice little twist, they were cute, but it was not enough to save the disaster.

Everything else: terrible. Everything. I can’t think of anything that could save this thing. The lines, the story, the acting (Maggie’s flirting was simply embarrassing), everything you can think of basically.
The story:
Maggie goes to Italy to take her daughter away from her bad boyfriend Tyler who wants her to take the blame for him because she’s a minor and he doesn’t want to go to jail :-/
Maggie is a modern woman from New York, but she doesn’t seem to have a problem in driving an old Italian car with manual transmission and she knows perfectly her roads without the help of gps. Wow.
She throws away the girl’s cellphone because she doesn’t want her to know that Tyler made bail and is waiting for her.
As soon as she reaches her destination, Maggie meets again Luca, he was her boyfriend twenty years ago before she married Jack instead. What a coincidence, he lives right there...
She tells her daughter Summer that she hasn’t seen him in twenty years, and yet she immediately says that she thought he was in France...
Summer takes her passport and mom’s credit card and plans to escape back home so she can tell the police that the drugs were hers and save her boyfriend (she might be a teenager, but this stupid?? :-/ )
She walks like a child pouting. Apparently Luca’s mother Carmen keeps running away because she’s determined to go to Rome but doesn’t say why, and Luca says that she’s losing her mind and her memory (which turns out to be nonsense, because she knows exactly what she’s doing and her memory seems to be perfect)
Summer takes Luca’s car; Carmen has the keys, and she’s all “you help me I help you”, so they drive away together. Like her mother, she has no trouble either with the car or with directions.
Maggie is taken aback when Luca introduces her to a girl as his “darling Valentina” and she thinks she’s his girlfriend... I mean, for real??? Come on, should we be surprised when at the end they reveal that she’s his daughter? Seemed clear to me :-/
On the road, Summer stops at a snack bar in the country (not in town, just by the road) and what do you know, they accept credit cards! Wow, really?
Summer tells her story to Carmen, stating that she’s “the only one who can save him”, her Tyler... oh my! Carmen tells her her story in return. She sang in a band when she was young and she was in love with a man, Marcel, but she left him to go home because she had promised to marry someone else, Luca’s father. Last year he died, then she received letters from Marcel and she’s now going to Rome to get married to him... after 50 years of not seeing and not hearing from each other...
Maggie teases Luca as if he’s a playboy who’s never serious with women.. how she can judge him like that since they say they haven’t seen or heard from each other in twenty years???
Carmen tells Summer that Tyler is an asshole who is using her and who has no honour (this was funnier in the Italian version, actually. In English it was plain, but in Italian it was funnier)
Maggie and Luca would have already caught them if they took the same road going after them, which would have been the normal thing to do since they were so close, but Luca decided for a shortcut so they lost them again. Instead of going after them, Luca had another brilliant idea, to go to a friend who works on tv (Giulia Scalzi, Italian name but Spanish accent...) a news announcer, to ask for her help, and what do you know, right away she shows the pictures on tv saying that Summer kidnapped Carmen. Wow.
Maggie shows jealousy towards Giulia, says he has a lady in every town... how stupid is that...
Summer and Carmen stop at a “saloon” where everybody look like cowboys but they don’t speak English (the only believable thing of the whole film) but run away when their pictures appear on tv (that was quick! and what a coincidence the tv was on the news channel..). They they stop and sleep in the car, while Luca takes Maggie to some sort of country grand hotel where they only have one room available (rolling eyes).
Summer and Carmen wake up surrounded by sheep, apparently left unattended (rolling eyes); when Luca and Maggie find the car, they start calling for them, which is obviously the stupidest thing to do since they don’t want to be found, they’re not going to reply, that would be obvious to anyone :-/
Hearing them, Carmen uses a pair of scissors and they cut the other car’s tyres... of course, who doesn’t go around with a pair of scissors.
Who knows for whatever reason, we hear again the song twist twist sang by Rita Pavone. Who choose that?
They run out of gas so Carmen sends Summer to steal some from a truck but she’s caught, so she loses the gas tank, causes a fire and unintentionally frees the chickens there... oh my.
Maggie and Luca have a fight, she’s angry that her daughter is depicted as a kidnapper, when Maggie puts the blame on Carmen instead, saying that she’s “one serious bitch and always has been” ... the nerve, how dare she? She barely knows her.
Summer and Carmen are now without a car (they left it where it was and apparently everyone forgot about it, such a nice car they’ll never see again), so they try hitchhiking, and Carmen lifts Summer’s already short skirt so that someone would stop (really??!?!?!? First, Summer is a minor, second, if someone stops only after seeing her raised skirt, would it be wise to accept that ride?? This is turning more criminal than stupid!). Anyway, in this movies they are always lucky, and instead of an old pervert man the first one passing by is actually a nice girl, who starts flirting with Summer (but in a nice way, keeping her hands to herself). Summer seems flattered and doesn’t sound like before when she mentions that she ‘sort of have a boyfriend’, but to prove that she’s a modern 2019’s girl, instead of asking for her phone number Summer asks her is she’s on facebook... ok, she doesn’t have a phone right now, but that also makes it difficult to go on facebook at the moment, so...
Talking to the police, Maggie describes Summer feeling embarrassed about her piercing and tattoos, trying to defend that as if she wanted to say ‘yes, she has tattoos but she’s not a bad girl’... really? defending her daughter’s tattoos? Because in 2019 someone would think that a girl with a tattoo is a bad girl?? What kind of world does she live in?
While talking to the police, Luca leaves his phone unattended (why??) so she can answer the call instead, and Valentina tells her where they are heading (she found Marcel’s letters), so Maggie takes the car (!!) and drives away leaving him behind, but what do you know, the police take him along with them.
Maggie consults a paper map while driving :-/ because she had no problem driving from Toscana to Rome without it, but now she doesn’t know where to find that specific church.
When Carmen and Summer get there, in the church there’s only Marcel waiting, then a priest appears with to young church boys ready to marry them, just like that, no witnesses, nothing. Really?
Maggie storms in trying to drag Summer away, and shortly after that Luca arrives too (with no police, did they simply give him a ride and wait outside?). There’s a stupid scene when Luca is angry, tells her to think of dad, to which she rightly replies that he’s dead, then he sort of fights with Marcel over her in an embarrassing way, then he causes his mom to fall down and hit her head so she needs hospitalising.
The police arrest Summer because she drove without a licence, because she forged her mom’s signature (at the snack bar we saw her writing her mom’s name... so how did they find out? I mean, are they for real?) and also because she realesed chickens (... she released the chickens...) and she caused a fire (at that same place)... so they arrest her.
Who knows why, now Giulia comes to apologise to Maggie. Why? Was her idea to say Summer kidnapped Carmen, or Luca told her? Who knows. Anyway, Maggie is still jealous and points out to her that she didn’t want ‘to help’, she wanted to ‘help Luca’... which seemed a very lame thing to say right now (she should think of her daughter being arrested and she has time to be stupidly jealous of Luca, specially since she thinks that he’s with Valentina...)
Maggie goes to visit Carmen at the hospital and finds out that Valentina is his daughter (ooooh who would have thought.... :-/ ). She simply goes “oh” and doesn’t tell him anything else about it.
Maggie tells Giulia the whole story, about Carmen and Marcel. Giulia tells her that she tried dating Luca once, but he kept thinking of his old American love... oh my :-/
Summer is at being interrogated by the police when suddenly their commander calls them and tells them to switch on the tv (for real??) and the tv is already on the right channel (all Italy is watching Giulia 24/7 apparently) and they listen to Giulia describing Carmen’s love story (her big, true-love story... really? they barely know each other, haven’t seen for fifty years!!) and how Summer helped her and after all that she’s simply released, they let her go free as a bird, just like that... I have no words.
Now Summer is all proud of her mom. All of a sudden. She hated her guts at the beginning, couldn’t stand her when she saw her again at the almost-wedding, and yet after this now suddenly Maggie is her hero-for-life. Wow. Volatile teenagers, huh?
Summer uses mom’s cellphone to call Tyler (because all of a sudden Maggie is no more bothered by the whole Tyler-thing apparently), and Summer dumps Tyler telling him he has no honour...
Maggie talks to Luca, and learns that Valentina is like 23 or something, so he already had a daughter when they met twenty years ago, but didn’t tell her thinking she might not want a guy with a daughter, and of course she then left so he had no more chances to tell her.
She speaks to him of how Carmen is “very much in love”... (rolling eyes) and she has arranged for her marriage right there at the hospital, with the priest and everything (how much did they pay? is the priest available at her say so? is it ok for him to celebrate at a hospital and not in a church?? are we in America now? )
Luca and Maggie kiss and are now together.
The end..
Almost.
There’s still the song, Carmen and Marcel sing again together (although mostly it’s him singing, she doesn’t sing anything. Well, he was a singer after all), and we see Luca and Maggie happily together, and we also see Summer with that nice girl, hand in hand.

镇魂 Zhen Hun - Guardian

40 eps. I liked it. A lot. I discovered a really good actor, because this Zhu Yi Long that played Shen Wei is great, and I liked the special friendship between the main two characters, and the interactions between the many others. I liked how deeply they loved each other, not necessarily in a romantic way but in a special one nonetheless, how deep and unlimited their love was. They made it a bromance, but I love how they managed to keep the love real, it's almost tangible. Many times Shen Wei has a look on his face, that is like an open window to his heart for everyone to see...
And anyway, although apparently they made it a bromance because of censorship in China against homosexuality, it's not like it's "really" shown as a bromance. They say they are friends, and that's undoubtedly true, and they never use words of love and obviously they never kiss, but besides that, they show the love in every other possible way. Shen Wei's face when he said he looked for him for 10.000 years, the last scene when he was crying saying they'll meet again... if this wasn't enough, there's Zhu Hong's dream episode. What with all that about Zhao willing to die for Shen Wei? About the fact that in his heart she can't compare with him? That clearly meant that he loves him, I mean, since when having a friend means you can't have a girlfriend? Only if by friend you actually mean boyfriend..
(EDIT: and let's not talk about the way ShenWei kept moving his eyes from Zhao's eyes to his lips during that dramatic scene 'you're worth it'... anyway, this series only had a few little problems in my opinion: -DaQing became little more than a boring kid, none of the sassy cat in the book and very little is shown about their incredible friendship; -there something I can't really put my finger on exactly, maybe the clothes they wore who knows, that makes them seem... small somehow, I mean they are not but they always look so small... ; -Zhao's character in the series is totally human, with no powers at all, so it seems like sometimes they didn't know what to do with him, BaiYu as well, so he's there and he's important only because he's important to SW and because he's the chief... but he doesn't really do much until the end.
(EDIT: I'll say it, this character broke my heart, I read the novel too (the part translated into English, that is, which is half of it) and I'm glad that in there they end up together and happy, but I really missed "seeing" him happy, he suffered so much for so long, I feel him so close (Shen Wei) I really wanted to "see" him happy, his happy face, really happy and content...  these people, they're breaking my heart, I must detach myself from all this.. I had hopes the novel might have more happiness..  will they ever make a sequel where Shen's soul will finally be happy ? I must choose very carefully from now on which dramas to watch... this one has consumed me, left me empty.. which is not its fault, I know that and I know me, it's just how it is.
My fav was obviously Shen Wei, played by Zhu YiLong, no surprise there, no way I could resist a mysterious hero in a black cloak and black mask who disguises as a professor with glasses, as long as it was well played there was no chance I wouldn’t like him. And here it was well played, Zhu YiLong was good, really really good. Shen Wei was a strong fighter, a lonely young man, a fragile person near the person he cares about, plus he also played the big bad guy Ye Zun, vengeful, manipulative. Cute too, although he (ZYL) looks better with his hair just a bit wild and casual clothes (formal clothes make him look... smaller.. sorry..). The only little detail is that sometimes he doesn't sound natural when he has to yell.. anyway, he's great, and nobody can do 'pure and innocent' like him, it must be hell for his girlfriend..
BTW, is it just me or he blushed when KunLun took away his mask? I mean, he didn't, but somehow it seems like he did :-p
Seriously though, who could possibly not love Shen Wei to bits? He was so good, so caring, so lonely, so dedicated, so loyal, so fragile and so strong... indeed more unreal than his powers, but still, designed to be loved with all one's soul. Many people on the internet call it a BL story, putting all the emphasis on that, and I understand why, but... I don't know yet how they know and fall for each other in the novel, but in the series... well, we see a strong but very lonely young man with the weight of the world on his shoulders, always alone, making decisions, never really talking to anyone.. until a person makes him feel not alone anymore (you have me, I won't let you fight alone), who understands him and what he does, who talks to him, who wants to know about him, who is really interested in what he says, who really likes him for what he is, who makes him smile, who can lift that weight... honestly I think that after finding someone like that nothing would have mattered, not gender or age or appearance or anything, he would have loved that person no matter what... sure, I don't put that much importance to the fact that they're both male because I'm a very simple person, to me love is good/hate is bad, I'm so simple that to me, when a person can be happy in this tough world without hurting anybody, that's a good thing, it doesn't seem complicated to me at all... so I understand Shen Wei's feelings and I love him with all my heart. I wonder if he will become one of the very few characters that stay with me forever...
Anyway, back to the show.
I loved it. Sure there were many little things that were absurd (knowing a code at the first attempt by looking at the erosion on the buttons... touching a man and detecting, not a gun, but a very thin and small sheet of paper... just to name a couple, but there were lots) but I didn't care much.
Chinese people must be really fond of tragic scenes and death scenes and heroic/romantic deaths.. anyway this ending is acceptable, not like IceFantasy. I really wanted Shen Wei and ZhaoYunlan to be together forever, but I can see how this is a good ending, and probably the right one, since they had made the enemy so powerful there was no way to get a real ‘happy ending’, there had to be deaths and to kill off all the others to leave the two of them alive wouldn’t have been a happy ending at all, on the contrary it would have been their failure.
It saddens me though that if you think about it they’ve been with each other for such a short period of time! Like, one day in the past and only a few months in the present...
p.s. I rewatched a bit and, does it say that according to the ancient book  KunLun wrote something about the hallows?something like that? how long did he stay in the past? what they showed us appeared to be no more than two days and one night... was it more?
Also, sometimes they say that ShenWei "waited" for 10.000 years, but he was like buried for all that time and was only 'found' recently... was he conscious of time passing when he was buried?
I was also sad about the deaths of the two ‘ghosts’ and of the cat-girl, so unlucky poor thing. Specially the ghosts, I liked them very much.

The funny thing was that since the first moment he saw him Shen was the one with deep deep feelings, and yet Zhao was the one who always seemed to be flirting with him :-p
One thing is not clear though. How long do Dixings live? Because they have children and grow old too, and yet when Shen Wei was found he looked exactly like 10.000 years before...
Little detail: in China cats have seven lives as in Italy? In America they apparently have nine, but in here I counted seven for the poor cat-girl , really unlucky cat-girl: she died :1 saving DaQing, 2 with her first husband 3 in front of her next man 4 & 5 her last husband killed her 6 Shen hit her and she fell on her head 7 the last one.

Edit- can't get enough of Shen Wei :-) but I'm glad I didn't recognise BaiYu because I found out from a yt video that he's the one that played CaoGuang.... I hated CaoGuang... despised him, I'm glad here he had a bit of beard and different hair so I didn't make the connection :-)
Also, I don't think I mentioned how much I liked the music, the opening theme was strong, and the ending song is just beautiful, makes me cry every time I hear it.

A very peculiar thing is that I didn't cry at the very last scene... I still can't believe it, I would have cried usually, but not this time, I was like mesmerised by his eyes, so much emotion in them, really really good job, 朱一龙, I have no words...
(psssst, Zhu Yi Long is so talented he can do anything but, you know, just don't make him dance though, it's not compulsory, one is allowed not to dance right? He can act and sing, just don't make him dance, will you?)

Haixing planet. More than 10.000 years ago an alien race came, and some dna fused with plants and animals dna and generated new dna. Yashou tribe can transform into plants or animals. Other aliens stayed deep underground, and were called the Dixing people. They mutated too and had powers to control elements and people. A meteor hit the planet causing much damage, and the Dixing people were forced to come out, and started to battle Haixing and Yashou people to get their resources, and there was a war, but creating four magical things the Haixing won. There was a peace...
Special Investigation department, new recruit Guo ChangCheng meets boss Zhao Yunlan, then Hong the girl who is a snake, cat-man Da Qin, science-man Lin JIng and a floating-girl.
Biology teacher Shen Wei’s student Li Qian feels followed, then the next day another girl is found murdered and Zhao investigates. It appears that strange things are looking for Li Qian, and when Guo is attacked by a black-smoke-man, Chu helps him fighting it with his puppets.
The first time Shen Wei sees Zhao he has an expression like he’s screaming inside :-p I love so much the scene when Shen Wei holds his hand a bit too long because he's staring at him like mesmerised...
apparently Shen Wei knows him from 10.000 years before, but only he remembers it, Zhao knows nothing about it. Shen Wei sees that Li Qian pendant is one of those Four Things when they are attacked by that black-smoke-man, he helps her and they run away. He calls Zhao to tell him that the Dixing is there after them (he says on the phone : "it's me" ...). He fights it to protect her, then Chu saves her after he ‘falls down’, and then a black-cloaked figure comes stopping time to take the attacker away.
Li Qian does a lot of work to take care of her sick grandma.
2
Li Qian tries to kill herself now that her grandma died by taking too many pills; she even confesses to kill her later, but she didn’t, she wanted to kill herself but then didn’t because there was her grandma there. Guo is sent to look after Li Qian at the hospital, and when a Dixing arrive he surprisingly acts rather bravely, but it’s Shen who fights him off. When they meet again, grandma’s spirit helps Qian and then Black-Cloak comes to take the bad guy away. Zhao takes Li Qian’s holy pendant, speaks with Cloak who decides to leave the Pendant with them.
3
A female teacher was assaulted by three students. A girl whose power is to suck the life out of everyone she touches is so very attached to her that she starts killing them off; she also attacks Shen Wei, who knows why, she may have lost her mind and now thinks that every man that talks to her teacher has bad intentions towards her... but even if she grasps his neck he doesn't die and seems totally uneffected, even take steps towards her, but Zhao and Chu come to stop her and Zhao rushes to embrace his shoulders, worried.. :-)  but at the end she also touches the teacher, by mistake, and she instantly ages a lot, but doesn’t die (Shen touches her shoulder, secretly using his power to help her). The next case is about women killed with their face removed.
4
Shen investigates by himself and is caught at the scene of the crime. They interrogate him (first Hong, then Chu and then YunLan) but YunLan quickly decides to let him go and believe him, and Shen starts helping in the investigation. When he gets hurt he heals immediately. Since Zhao is always a bit suspicious, he pricks his finger on purpose, and when Zhao looks worried he looks at him with big wide eyes, as if thinking 'what? you worried about me?'...
The same girl claims again to have escaped an assault but she’s actually the one who wants to take other girls’ faces with the help of someone who wants to make her happy. He took Hong, she frees herself and then they get him. The girl wants to save him and demands his release in exchange for giving them back DaQing. When they injure him she wants revenge but then a boy whose girl was killed runs to her with a bomb and they die together.
Shen Wei keeps restraining his powers because he's afraid that his real identity might be discovered.. Chu is devoted to him and him too wonders why he wants to keep fighting alone..
We see that it was YunLan, a long time ago, to give him his name Shen Wei.
5
A rich boy first and then his arranged fiancee disappear in the bathtub full of water. The butler knows something but won’t tell. When he meets Shen, he kneels in front of him, recognising him as Cloak.
Shen forbids him to harm Zhao but gives him time to solve his situation. The butler had a son but the family he worked for (that he considered as his benefactor) lied to him: they considered the child a monster because he had the power to control water, and so they abandoned him, all alone, telling the man that the boy went missing. The butler Wu is of course a Dixing too but nobody knew about it.
The child grew up full of pain and anger. He took those two young people but he didn’t kill them, and now the boy’s father sends people to kill him but Wu protects him. The son now wants revenge for his father but Zhao stops him and tells him that the old guy will pay for what he did (oh really? how? it’s so nice how in movies the rich guys can be arrested like everybody else..) and then all the department begs Cloak to help Wu so he does.
The next case involves a young woman disappearing from a locked room.

6
Guo reminds Chu of his lost little brother. Shen Wei asks a flower-girl for help.
The missing WeiWei returns but she’s different, and the team finds out that some time ago the real WeiWei switched places with the ‘other’ in the mirror, and the ‘other’ lived in the real world and fell in love. She wanted her life back, but after Cloak takes the ‘other’ away the fiancee leaves her because even if she’s the real human she’s not the girl he fell in love with.
Zhao wants to find out Shen’s secrets so he puts a hidden camera in his office at school. Going home, Shen meets two robbers and voluntarily gives them money and watch because he doesn’t want to fight them, but is about to when they want to take his precious (for him) necklace...
7
Zhao appears to fight off the robbers, showing off (:p), saving Shen Wei, giving him back the watch (Shen doesn’t ask to get the money back too..) and they go together to Shen’s new apartment, right in front of Zhao’s, so he can treat his injured arm; as soon as he steps in, Zhao says he can go since he lives so near but Shen is like Wait!! and insists on curing his arm (he rubs the medicine in his hands first, I guess to make his hands warmer and more comfortable, but in this way he's actually absorbing more medicine than Zhao, only he doesn't need it so it's not really a good thing...) then Zhao asks him to join his team as a consultant but he refuses, then Zhao is about to leave and he calls him back again... to give him the little bottle, sure - it's such a cute scene, Shen was so full of hidden emotions, it looked like he wanted to keep him there more, I felt as if he really didn't want him to go and then, once alone, he touched his heart... it may have been that he was touching his necklace, thinking of when he met him the first time and what he means to him, but the necklace has always been closer to the neck than to the heart, it seemed to me like he was touching his heart as if saying 'slow down please', as if flooded with emotions that he struggled to handle.. I mean, he's always been a person so important to him, and now he has him so close... a tornado of emotions :-) you know, sometimes I see on the internet that people like to pair actors with the animal they are most like: well, I don't know about YiLong, but Shen Wei, Shen Wei is like a hummingbird to me, no doubt, the more he stands still the more his heart beats faster :-) plus he looks so cute but he's full of abilities :-)
Later the robbers are found dead, and Zhao is rather embarrassed when the team, watching the security cameras, see him with Shen Wei :-p Later Zhao sends Zhu Hong to Shen Wei with a computer so they can video-chat about the case :-) She's already jealous, she can sense what's going on here :-p
It’s another case very similar to the horror stories written by an online author that LinJing admired, so they go find him. He writes his last one where the murderer feels so guilty he scares himself to death with his own reflection, and by doing this the author kills himself because he didn’t know that he had the power to make what he wrote happen.
Zhao goes to Shen Wei to tell him everything about the case... I mean, it's not like there's a real reason, it's just that he wants to... :-)
8
Guo is officially hired and LinJing gives him a weapon activated by fear, since he’s always afraid of everything :-p Zheng, the floating-girl/ghost, receives a letter that scares her. She’s a nocturn with no memory, and when she remembers her past she faints, and then says that she has to go.
Zhao buys some old books to give to Shen, but it turns out that he himself had sold those books before :p
Shen find Zhao on the street in pain and takes him home in a taxi (because Zhao told him so, he has medicine there) and lets him rest his head on his shoulder (I read on the internet that this scene was improvised... people really like this kind of things I guess, but if it was, then what was the original plan? I mean, we don't just happen to look at them, someone planned a scene in the taxi, with cameras and everything, so if they weren't supposed to do that, what were they supposed to do??), then he cares for him and when he falls asleep he takes off his shoes and covers him with a blanket. He stays the night and Zhao wakes up in a much tidier apartment :-p Shen cleaned his apartment, cooked for him and stayed the night watching over him...
Shen refuses again to join his team, and asks him not to leave the city until his return from a school trip he has to make... I found it weird that Zhao didn't ask him why.
Shen Wei with his hair down is cute :) seems younger and adorable in that scene, when he looks down :-)
Shen is worried about leaving Zhao alone but he has to go to the north-west mountains looking for something, while Zhao goes there to help WangZheng.
Guo bought a porn doll... :-/ but there's Zhu to help Zheng: these, when she takes care of her, are ZhuHong's best moments, really nice :-)
They meet on the road and Zhao insists on making the rest of the way together :-) and later, when LinJing drives, Zhao rests his head on Shen’s shoulder :) because he says he's tired and keeps sneezing... but he didn't before and won't later, only now :-p it seems like a good excuse to me :-p
and then gives him his jacket, and Shen will wear it the whole time :) I just love how Shen looks at him when he puts his jacket on his shoulders :-)
10
Zhao and Cloak reach Wang who ventured alone in the mountain, and she tells them her story, how she was a princess and she loved a slave; when the slaves rebelled he killed her father and brothers who had killed his family and became the new leader, but still protected her against the others who hated her. They couldn’t accept it and they killed her; he tried to use a Holy Tool to revive her, but it worked in another way, stripping her spirit from her dead body, but he couldn’t see her, and changed, filled with pain and anger and hatred for those who had killed her. Both Zhao and Cloak can understand this, because they both think the most important thing for a man is to keep the loved one safe...
11
Wang’s love Sang is now a spirit like her and will be staying with them as a librarian :-D when they are back they drink a lot to celebrate, but Shen is worried that Zhao is drinking too much so he drinks one for him, and immediately falls on the table :-p (no passion-scene here... not even a word, nothing... sigh ) so Zhao takes him to bed, cares for him, and then Zhao smells monsters blood on his jacket. We see it ever so clearly when he hypnotised snake-girl-Hong back and killed a monster (so blood on his jacket) then he turned into Cloak and went to help Zhao, who now understands that he is Cloak, that that’s his secret. When Shen wakes up in the morning Zhao has left already leaving him a note (with a smiling/blinking smiley-face :-D ) and when he smells the jacket too he starts worrying that his real identity might have been discovered.
Zhao thinks back of all the things regarding Shen (he fell from the roof, was scratched, attacked by the girl, the teacher revived after he touched her, and of course Shen’s words and Cloak’s are very similar :p ). DaQing tells him that maybe Cloak stays among humans to be close to the person he loves... 情 人, I checked :-)
12
Soundwaves made three people kill themselves. The rich man mistreated his little stepdaughter beating her up everyday, and now that her only friend T had been fired he couldn’t protect her anymore. The girl is so sad when Cloak takes him away that Zhao makes DaQing turn into a cat to comfort her ... but the guy lied to protect her. She’s the one with powers, and now she takes control of DaQing to get both tools.
Zhao tries to get Shen Wei to tell him the truth, and is rather upset when Shen doesn’t tell him and keeps his ‘normal person’ cover. Zhao faints after touching the second Tool and doesn’t see him protecting him against T. When LinJing needs a human volunteer for an experiment Shen does it, and Zhao watches him very closely :-p Shen wants to tell him everything but is afraid he’d be putting him in danger so he doesn’t. When Cloak appears to take T away, he doesn’t speak to Zhao..

Zhao is sure now that Shen is Cloak and is angry/disappointed, because had he shared information some things could have been avoided, when there was an attack at the wedding (of the two that had been kidnapped by the young man of the lake) the father of the bride died -  and when cornered (by Zhao saying ‘I thought we were friends’) Shen says that he didn’t want to put him in danger by telling him the truth, that he wrongly thought he could handle everything himself, but then his ‘enemy’ comes and takes control of Zhao and threatens to kill him, and then takes him away. Shen, now Cloak, tries to pursue but can’t, and spits blood, now Shen again...
Jiu uses Zhao to enter their department, orders him to shoot Hong and then Shen when he comes, but  of course Zhao was pretending all along (so now he’s absolutely sure about him :p)
They save the girl from Jiu and the Tools too, of course.
( I love it when Shen goes “ I...” followed by an embarrassed pause while he either tries to find some lie or tries to find a way to say what’s difficult for him to say... he looks so emotional, like I can feel the battle of emotions inside him...
14
Zhao faints after touching the second tool, and when he wakes up with all the team around, Shen is  Cloak again, not wanting all the others to know, and takes the girl away.
Cloak then let the girl go with the guy she thinks of as her older brother to look after her. Zhao sees them around and tells Shen when they talk at home. Shen tells him that they have ‘always’ been friends but doesn’t explain it to him. Zhao makes Shen promise to join their group. A journalist is determined to spy on them, being really annoying.
Guo keeps training with Chu. Now it turns out his important uncle had no idea Guo was working with them, and is now worried it might be too dangerous for him, but Guo doesn’t want to leave.
Zhao learns that his father has been promoted, he didn’t know about it.
(EDIT-just rewatched this ep, and I'd like to point out that Zhao rides a Ducati :-D )
15
From this episode Zhao has a different hairstyle.
The journalist hacks into the camera spying in Shen’s office (did Zhao forget about it?) and shows it to Zhao, saying either he reveals it himself or he’ll do it in three days. When Zhao tells Shen about it, he feels guilty about the hidden camera but Shen apologises to him instead for exposing himself, being so ignorant on technology as he is (and Zhao feels bad about it because once again Shen blames everything on himself carrying all the weight). LinJing is a better hacker and deletes his computer. Zhao and Shen show up at his house and explain to him how he did not help the public discover truths, he actually misjudged more than one situation causing harm to innocents. He’s skilled though and Zhao offers him to work with them.
Zhao asks Shen what is his ability since Dixing should only have one but he seems able to do a lot of different things, and he says that it’s to learn, so he can learn every ability he sees and use it himself, but he is also limited for some reason I didn’t understand so he can’t show his full power.
Zhao asks him to repay him for solving the situation so smoothly... by cleaning his house :-p Shen seemed worried, what was he thinking about?
Shen is upset because despite all his warnings Zhao keeps touching the Tools hoping their powers might help him. Then they go out to eat together :-)
Hong has always been jealous of Shen, and now she cries getting drunk :-/
The Regent comes visiting; when Shen arrives, he’s about to bow or something but Zhao stops him
:-p He begs forgiveness for not informing Cloak first, and he came to say that the Dijun Book that lists all residents of Dixing has gone missing.
It’s really lovely to see him turning from Shen to Cloak (without the cloak) to Shen again
Cloak and regent must find it back, and Zhao go to Dixing with them. A commissioner is coming to exhamine the department while he’s away, and it’s his father.
16
Zhao senior is quite annoyed that Zhao is not there, and says that a leader should never leave like that, and sure enough a new case arrives so he takes temporary leadership of the group.
He gives them all tasks that seem useless, while Zhao sort of puts himself into danger :p but he meets again butler Wu who is now working for Cloak and he saves him, and tells him not to trust the regent.
Sang notices that Zhao sr used his left hand before and his right hand later. Zhao sr says Zhao should no longer be the leader. They all oppose the idea, and this loyalty seems to please him. He says he won’t worry about him now, and when he encourages Guo to go on, his eyes are strange, not human.
17
Zhao is in trouble but Cloak looks for him (getting rather upset when a man claims to have killed him) and saves him. Jiu sends a man to destroy their building, but they fight him and then Zhao sr shoots him, like he shot his wife by mistake many years before. We see that he was always obsessed with his work, even causing the death of his own wife in front of his son.
18
Looking into an underground fight club where many young men have already disappeared, Chu fights too to lure out the Dixing, called Fire, fighting there. A guy asks Chu to revenge the death of his brother, because he thinks that Fire betrayed him and caused him to kill himself. Actually, Fire had find out that the stronger boys were sold to Jiu who killed them to take away their vital energy or something, so he put something in the water to make them look weaker, to save them, so they were never targeted because not enough fit and strong. Since he saved lives, Shen lets him go.
When Zhao and Shen alone were fighting against Fire, it was the worst piece of fighting I've ever seen, it looked so fake; but then, it was fun later when they were sort of bickering, like 'you can't go if not necessary' - 'then if necessary I can go' - ' I said you can't go, you can't go' and stuff like that :-p but of course Zhao will go, when could Shen ever stop him? :-p
19
While Chu and Guo are taking the three boys away, Jiu attacks them and reveals that he killed the little brother, he had changed his mind about killing himself. Fire come back and together with Chu they are winning, but Jiu has a bomb to knock them down.
Despite Shen’s multiple warnings, Zhao wants to do something and touches the Tools. He faints and has a premonition of Chu, Guo and Fire’s death. Shen was really upset this time, because Zhao got hurt...
Soon after, Jiu sends them a ransom demand, the Tools in exchange for their lives. They think of some plan, and Shen has a role, and requests Hong to go with him. She tells him clearly that she likes Zhao, that she doesn’t understand why he keeps pretending to know nothing about it when it’s so obvious everybody knows how she feels (well, I see only one reason to pretend he doesn’t know, sorry girl...). Shen tells her that maybe in three years she won't feel anything anymore... I mean, really? Come on, I know he doesn't want her to be in love with Zhao, or anyone else for that matter, but what kind of nonsense is this ? And from his, of all people....
Guo acts rather bravely in his insistence in wanting to cure Fire, then Jiu offers Chu to join him against humans and against Cloak, as if he would ever do that. Jiu leaves them to freeze to death, in a lab where the temperature will decrease to the absolute zero ( -275°C ... ).
Shen wants to convince the snake-tribe to help them. Hong is there to help convince her uncle, and also the flower-girl-in-blue (I know that actress, but I can’t place her, it’s driving me crazy; she probably had a different look when I saw her, but I’m sure I know her... I can't remember, maybe I'm confusing her with someone else?.. ).
There is a festival in town, and they set up a meeting with Jiu for the ‘exchange’. The poor guys are freezing to death, and Fire’s fire can’t help. Guo thanks Chu for being his ‘brother’ and falls asleep, so Chu gives him his coat and scarf and tries to warm him... so touching :’( but also a bit sad that there was nobody caring about Fire...
When they meet Jiu, they have Jing and the reporter hack into the city lights and switch them all off, not a light in the whole city, so Jiu can’t use his power, but Shen can, and they trap him and ‘arrest’ him.
20
Of course they are in time to save them :-)
We see that Zhao sr is at moments like ‘possessed’ by someone with strange eyes.
Shen tells Zhao that Hong likes him, but of course he knows and pretends not to because he doesn’t love her, no surprise there... the two of them have to go to dinner with the minister, leaving Guo with Jiu :-/ I mean, really??  Guo even freed him from the special handcuffs, falling for the old ‘need to go to the bathroom’ trick. Zhao has a premonition and comes back, on foot... so he calls to put the Hallows (the Tools, the magical things, whatever) away. Jiu runs away; he has little power now, but he has one last card to play: he transfers his life energy to his boss, and disappears. The boss spirit sets free and asks to meet Zhao: he’s Ye Zun, Zhao uses the Pendant (now so big..) against his power. Shen was going to meet the minister, but senses something and comes to the rescue, without even turning into cloak. Ye Zun goes away and when Zhao comes to he immediately calls Shen’s name, saying he was sure he’d come, but things go down again when they realise that he can’t see...
21
Li Jing finds  a girl he likes. Zhao is told by his father to stay away from Shen (yeah right); Shen is very worried about him, can’t concentrate in class and is angry when Zhao almost gets run over by a car, and then takes him to the big Yashou tribe market hoping to find a cure for his eyes but once there Shen has to stop the crow-woman who had attacked Hong, and angry as he is already he was about to kill her when Zhao’s voice stops him; he feels very emotional (for him) when Zhao calls him Xiao Wei and he stops fighting, and Zhao talks to the crow and the snakes and sort of makes temporary peace, while Shen keeps staring at him... doing and saying nothing, he can only stare at him...
Sang prepares a candle-light dinner for Zheng and they dance :-)
Everyone now knows about Shen being Cloak.
22
A mysterious doctor uses dark energy to treat his patients, but gets angry when Cat peaks inside to see what he’s doing and throws them out. Shen cares very much about Zhao, though, and kneels outside the doctor’s door, as the doctor asked after he said he’d do anything... he stays there, doesn’t move even when it rains, and the doctor finally agrees to help, and indeed cures Zhao’s eyes :-)
The new case: some people are ageing in a strange, very quick way: one man even ages before Chu and Guo’s eyes. The doctor’s ability started after he was given some power by the special brush, a Tool, so basically he gave energy to a patient without knowing that he was taking away someone else’s life energy, included when he helped Zhao, so now Zhao wants to give it back. The doctor takes away Zhao’s sight and his own life energy to give it back, so Zhao is blind again. Shen was very upset about it, but then he is able to cure him using the Pendant. Zhao doesn’t realise that the Pendant is doing something to Shen because Shen always smiles when looking at him..
Cat wants to recover his lost memory, so he tries hypnotism, and he remembers looking for Kun Lun when a ‘bad Shen’ arrived to attack him (actually Ye Zun). Zhao and Shen go back to Dixing to find information on the Brush, and Cat goes with them.
23
Cat tells Zhao what he remembered, but Zhao still believes in Shen. He knows that Shen is keeping something from him, that Shen doesn’t want Zhao to learn about Kun Lun, but Zhao trusts him to tell him everything when he’ll be ready, when keeping secrets will become too heavy for him. Shen goes to talk to Ye Zun’s prison and says he’ll be ok with sacrificing himself in order to stop him.
The old king is killed by the deacon, the regent’s right-hand, as ordered by Ye Zun to hide the information on the Brush. After the deacon’s death, now a young man is forced to become king, which means he’ll keep working consuming his energy and sacrificing his life until his death.
At home, Shen cares after Zhao again, preparing food and making him rest, but Zhao sees that he hurt himself, I’m not sure why but it is apparently something he has to do after he used the Pendant to cure him, sharing his life energy with him, consuming or damaging his own. Shen didn’t want to be seen, I think Zhao woke up during the night.  Zhao tells him that he was not worth this sacrifice, all that he is doing for him, but Shen simply says that he is worth it... and that this life of his, he is returning it to him...  that was a great scene, so intense! Really great scene and performances, plus I say, here there’s the most heartbreaking line describing the Shen-character: he smiles at him and says that luckily he got used at being injured...  is there anyone in the world who wouldn’t want to hug him or hold his hand tight after that? heartbreaking.
24
Zhao is still upset that Shen keeps things from him.
At the hospital, people suddenly attempt suicide without really wanting to. A child-looking young man addicted to video games is manipulating people to punish them for the death of his friend who died. Crow is manipulating him. He starts a real life-and-death game involving Zhao and bombs, but he didn’t want to really hurt anybody, and when Shen destroys the mobile game that was the source of his power he then dies. Zhao wouldn’t leave Shen and together they disarm a bomb and move to the next case. A taxi driver at night meets a stranger, and later he suddenly attacks people and appears to have a completely different, aggressive personality.
25
After touching him, Guo also shows a different, more aggressive personality :-p  Hong becomes super shy, and Chu becomes a cry-baby :-p Shen says that to have him act like that is worse than killing him :-p I can imagine, he cries all the time :-p
A guy with multiple personalities (really too many) suddenly gained the power to change other people’s personality, and when he dies they all turn back to normal.
26
A cat-girl attacks Daqing because he doesn’t remember her, and then Zhao when he tries to help him, so Shen hits her with his power and she dies. He didn’t want to kill her and feels very bad about it. Later on, she wakes up and when they meet again he finally remembers her. She once saved him from a car, and he thought she died, but she woke up and hating loneliness she started looking for true love. Once she found it, but in an accident he died and she woke up; another time, she was the one who had an accident and died in front of him, so when she woke up he wouldn’t accept ‘a monster’. The last one is the husband that killed her with poison, and when she woke up he suffocated her... now that she’s met him again, she won’t leave Daqing anymore :p but when she sees old Li she takes him away, saying that being with them is dangerous. He remembers that he lost his memories when Li found him.. apparently he somehow made him lost his memories, and now he apologises. When cat-girl Daji tries to hit Li she hit DaQing instead, and he remembers everything.
27
Li thought he was a monster when he transformed into human form and hit him, but then he regretted it and joined the department to be near him :-)
LinJing is more and more taken by his ShaYa not knowing she’s a crow-girl working with the enemy.
Zhao, Cat and Shen investigate yet another accident at the research lab, and they sneak in there and Shen realises that they are working on a way to turn humans into mutants.
Everyone learns that ShaYa attacked Guo’s uncle and they want to stop her, but she stops only after hurting LinJing with her electricity, and talks to them.
28
ShaYa thinks that Zhao sr killed the guy she loved and she seeks revenge. When the minister and Zhao sr are abducted, they have 24 hours to crack a code, but they only manage that because Sha Ya sends LinJing a text helping him. Zhao touches the Pendant again and faints once again...
29
I know he’s causing a lot of trouble, but this WangXiangYang story is heartbreaking: people raided his shop and broke his phone so he didn’t hear when his wife called. She needed to go to a hospital, she called a taxi but a bastard and his lover took it from her. Another one didn’t stop and another one almost ran her over (well, this last one was hurrying to his sick mother), and at the hospital they didn’t have her type of rare blood. He thought that they chose to save Zhao sr’s life but he had a common type. When he learns this he doesn’t kill Zhao sr and understands that he’s been tricked by YeZun. He gives Zhao the brush but it’s too late, their plan has succeeded already, the pillar has been broken, and YeZun breaks free (more or less, he looks like a black shape now). Of course they show us that Zhao sr did not kill ShaYa’s good friend, he was chasing the real murderer, a Dixing, and of course the boy was in love with her.
30
LiJing was providing information to the scientist at the research lab, and Zhao now overhears them talking. They have a talk and then Zhao sends him away, back to where he came from. Everyone’s against it at the department, but nothing they can do. LinJing goes to work for his old teacher at the research lab (so now he has access to secret documents... yeahyeah)
Shen went to Dixing with ShaYa, only to find that the Palace is now under YeZun’s control. He fights a bit but is not his once powerful self since he shared his life force with Zhao. He escapes from the Palace and goes to talk to YeZun at the pillars, but he is taken prisoner.
Zhao sr comes to take Zhao away and talk to him, and takes him to Zhao’s home. He says he only wants to talk before sending him back to work, but once alone Zhao pulls out his gun (that can only hurt Dixings) saying that he is not his father...
31
It turns out that a Dixing that needs a host to survive has been living peacefully in his body for twenty years at least, since before he started the special department. Actually, the Dixing is the nicer one ..
Hong is so stubborn, fixated on Zhao that she insists on asking him for an answer, wanting him to ask her to stay, she presses him when it’s clear that he doesn’t love her that way, anyone would understand it, she’s clearly looking for pain and putting him in a difficult position.. until the crow-lady-boss comes and hurt her shoulder.
Zhao keeps thinking about Shen, worrying about him because nobody has heard from him. When Hong doesn’t wake up, he sits by her because she got hold of his hand and wouldn’t let go. He falls asleep too and inside her dream, where she does not want to wake up. She’s like a child, insisting she doesn’t want to wake up. Shen is still imprisoned, but can feel that Zhao is getting weaker and is worried for him...
In the dream Hong tells him how she learned to walk on heels and tried to be a lady instead of a snake, how she changed herself hoping he would like her :-/  he tells her that she is important like everyone in the department, that he needs them all, and luckily she stops crying. Still making it difficult for him but finally she agrees to wake up with him. The SID is about to be shut down but Zhao sends them away for now. He is also angry at Chu who sent Guo inside the dream with one of his puppets somehow, to help, and it did help actually, sort of bringing her back to her senses.
32
Things keep appearing online setting the public against the SID, even revealing Chu as a killer. Chu wants to go to Dixing looking for Shen, and when Zhao says no, he goes anyway taking Guo with him. YeZun took away Chu’s only memory of his dead twin brother, and now attacks Guo in front of him. Is Guo dead? :-(
33
Half of the episode is about Chu lost in a dream without knowing it, then he wakes up feeling desperate (so he caused a fight and got arrested but his twin brother was mistaken for him and beaten to death. He took revenge and was sentenced to 100 years because of that; now, to retrieve his brother’s remains, he thinks he caused Guo’s death).
Zhao goes to Dixing and with the help of the Shadow-man of the first episode he frees Shen and takes him home. Chu uses the Pendant to save Guo...
34
Chu tells his story: his brother was actually set on fire by the one who mistook him for his brother, and so he put himself in the little puppet Chu had given him.
Guo wakes up; the department is shut down; the scientist teacher tries the serum on himself; Zhao and Shen are wanted as criminals; YeZun comes to take the Hallows/Tools as ShenWei (asking Zheng about him saying “my little YunLan” :p apparently he has a precise idea of Shen/YunLan ‘s stage of relationship :-p  I liked these scenes a lot, you know, an actor pretending to be someone who is pretending to be someone else :p  ); Zhao knows it of course although it takes him too long, it was clear right away when he was so calm after seeing him handling the Pendant, the real Shen would have been worried or angry or both. I must say I was rather annoyed that he didn't notice sooner; the different style of clothes: could still be Shen Wei... that 'I own the world' attitude, maybe he didn't notice; but, he entered calling him Yunlan and Shen Wei never does that, plus in such a soft voice, and most importantly he was not upset at all that he was clearly using the Hallows and in pain because of it, Shen would react to that... and still he had no suspicions? Anyway, they fight, Zheng and Sang are ‘killed’? to protect him and Zhao disappears into a wormhole activated by all the tools, so when Shen comes he follows him into that kind of wormhole. Zhao comes out during the war of 10.000 years ago; he meets ancient Cloak and ancient DaQing who don’t know him, and also a couple of leaders who know he’s from the future... they say the real Kun Lun was killed. As soon as he recognised Shen Wei, he helped him shooting a couple of his enemies who then retreated, allowing him to flee with the remaining men alive. He had been cornered, and Zhao saved his life.
Cloak and Kun Lun start talking, and Cloak appears to be such a lonely, innocent young man who has no real interaction with anybody other than when he fights; he explains that he wears that black mask because that way his enemies can’t see when he gets scared..
35
Cloak and Kun Lun talk a lot: KL gives him his modern day Shen Wei, and asks him about his past, his life, and Shen thanks him for it, because no one has ever talked with him like that, shared thoughts with him like that; we see ancient Ye Zun working for the enemy, but he is a small pawn with a hatred for his brother who he thinks abandoned him. He finds out now that his power is to absorb other people and their power, and he becomes their new boss (okay but honestly, what kind of power is that? could any decent person use it? is it a curse or was he fated to be evil before he was born? :/ no wonder he grew up evil :-/ after all, a good decent person wouldn't react like that, if some stranger told you that someone you love simply abandoned you and you never see them again, would you believe the stranger, never look into what happened, and turn love into hate, just like that?).
KL tells him that he is not fighting alone, that he has him, and then they retrieve the four Hallows from YeZun and Zhao thinks he’s accomplished his mission and can now go back, wondering why he’s still there, and Cloak appears very sad to learn that he has to go (and he’ll be alone again, such a heartbreaking look on his face) but YeZun attacks. Finally face to face, masks off, Cloak finds out that the boss is his little brother YeZun, he thought he had died long ago. DaQing ‘loses’ the Hallows, meaning he drops the box and they scatter around, flying away.  KL is taken back into the ‘wormhole’ where he meets ‘our’ Shen who looks at him with such eyes... and says that after 10.000 years he found him again... aww - but then we see that he fell into the earth and was sort of ‘found’ after 10.000 years, he didn’t really “wait” it... and he started working as Cloak, and assumed the identity of Shen Wei on the surface.
They come back to our time (and who knows why Zhao wears his old clothes again) to learn that Dixing declared war, and that ‘Cloak’ did it.
36
YeZun tells minister Gao he may stop the war if they give him Zhao and Shen (and that close shot on YeZun lips when he says they don’t have to worry because he’s just an image and can’t hurt them is ... quite something). Zhao speaks in a live broadcast to everyone saying that humans and Dixing are all people and they should not hate/be afraid of each other, while secretly sending a message to LinJing to steal the serum, which is why he went to work there. He tries to steal the serum, but the crazy scientist uses it on Guo and keeps him prisoner, but then LiQian frees him and gives him the three Hallows back. YeZun absorbs LinJing :-/
37
Old Li has been killed by the crows. When touching someone dying, Guo can see their life and their last wills. The SID finds the fourth Hallow, the Lantern, inside the department.
Shen goes to Dixing trying to find a way to repair the Lantern; Zhao, DaQing and Hong go to Yashou tribe; Guo and Chu go around, so he can find dying people and at least see/hear their last will.
Shen manages to open a passage, but it costs him already to spit blood.
Hong passes the test hand out for generations and becomes the new Yashou tribe leader.
LinJing wakes up in YeZun’s body, not yet digested, and finds ShaYa’s things :(
38
Guo goes live to tells everyone the messages he received. Zhao can kill the crazy scientist with Lao Zhao’s help. The Dixing in him tells him he knows the secret to relight the Lantern.
Shen is held prisoner and tortured by YeZun :’(  Zhao goes to Dixing with Guo.
When alone, the Regent finally frees Shen, so he can help Zhao. Shen is badly injured though, so Zhao tries to lure the soldiers away from him but others find him and Shen fights :(
Now Zhao is YeZun’s prisoner as well :( YeZun tells Shen he is so weak because he shared his life force with Zhao. Guo is being controlled by him. YeZun wants to absorb the power of the four Hallows, but he doesn’t have the Lantern. YeZun is so angry he repeatedly hurts Zhao, but at the last blow of power, Shen puts himself before Zhao to save him...
39
YeZun then kills him with a stab to the heart in front of Zhao’s eyes :( and then absorbs him, so he joins LinJing.
YeZun magically broadcasts live to show the world that he is winning. DaJi dies for good and DaQing cries for her.
Zhao escapes. DaQing, Hong and Chu go to Dixing. YeZun retrieves the lantern disguised in a black cloak, and Zhao secretly broadcasts his words to the whole of Dixing who now know that he lied and cares about nobody. Now the Dixing want to rebel against him. YeZun absorbs the regent and the king as well, then uses Guo to light the Lantern, but Guo fights his control so he can’t light it.
Chu, Hong and DaQing come to fight YeZun and Zhao injects himself with the purified serum that his father gave DaQing.
40
The fight goes on, YeZun says he wants to reshape the world because this one is full of betrayal and abandon and hatred ( ... yes, can’t he see the fault in his reasoning?? like the detail that he’s the one hating and betraying?... okay that someone else did the abandoning, but still, 2 out of 3... ); Guo takes one of the Tools and gives it to DaQing that gives it to Zhao that with the new serum-power can attack YeZun and make him weak enough for Shen to move on with his plan. He has LinJing push the spear fully in his chest then he throws out of the body Lin, king and regent. Immediately Zhao asks about him, but he hasn’t come out of course.
I think that Shen makes his body explode like the bomb so he kills YeZun from the inside, or something like that.
Shen now learns why YeZun hates him so much, he grew up believing that he had been abandoned but of course Shen didn’t leave him, he lost him. Shen and YeZun die together; the world is now breaking apart, so Zhao uses his own life, burning his soul to light the lantern. They bring his body back and the passage close definitely, separating Dixing and humans.
A year goes by.
LiQian is the new director of the research lab, Guo’s uncle is the new minister, Hong brings peace to the Yashou tribes, Guo and Chu are always together, and... Zhao is chief of SID and a hero, only he’s not the real Zhao but some kind of replacement, don’t know how; the department has many more people now, DaQing and LinJing are still friends, and generally life goes on.

In that strange environment that looks like the inside of the wormhole Zhao and Shen meet and Shen says that no matter where they go, they will meet again one day, and they look at each other with tears in their eyes... I guess this means that they’ll reincarnate somewhere and someday they will find each other again... it’s a nice thought...
