Morbius - 2022

It’s a Marvel movie. I didn’t know that. And it’s rather cool.

Details: It starts with Morbius in Costa Rica looking for vampire bats.

Then it moves to 25 years earlier, when he was a child. We see a hospital for sick children, physically weak, and yet the children outside mock them (in what kind of families did these children grow up to mock and bully a child using crutches? ). They beat up Lucien.

Lucian is a new kid, and the boy in the bed next to him is Michael, who calls him Milo and fixes his blood machine with a pen. The doctor tells him that he could go to a school for gifted children in New York. He goes. He grows up to be an “authority on blood-borne diseases”. He rejects a nobel prize. He has issues, he says.

Dr Bancroft knows that he’s mixing human dna with bat dna, but with no success yet. His last test worked though. He and rich Milo may not have much time left, but now maybe he has found a cure.

Martine Bancroft helps him, and injects him with the cure. He changes, and when a man on the ship shoots at him, he kills him, and when the others hurt Martine and shoot at him, he kills them too, but not Martine…

When it’s over, he comes back to himself and feels sick when he sees the recording of what he did.

Morbius is now strong, he can walk, run, jump, but every tot hours he needs human blood. 

Milo sees him strong and doesn’t care for the fact that he just drank blood (artificial one, this time) or that he killed people, or that his face changed in front of him, Milo just wants “the cure”. 

A nurse is drained of blood at his lab and the police want to hold him for questioning, so he escapes. His strength goes down and he is arrested. He needs feeding soon but they took away his bag, Then Milo comes to him, tells him he can’t have done it and he must get out of there because he doesn’t belong there, then he walks out without his cane. 

Morbius understands he took the cure and drinks the blood Milo brought for him and finds him to confront him. Milo doesn’t regret it, he tells him to accept what he is.

Milo admits he killed the nurse, and they fight. Then Milo kills the policemen who tried to stop them. He does not want to reverse it, he likes it. 

Michael tells Martine about Milo an asks for her help. When they kiss, Milo is spying on them.

Michael creates some kind of poison that should stop/kill Milo, and he has a second dose for himself. He cannot accept to have to drink human blood.

When Milo hurts Martine, Michael flies to her but she’s dying. She wants to help so he feeds on her; he has then a big fight with Milo and with the help of lots and lots of bats, he manages to stop him.

Michael flies away with the bats and doesn’t see that Martine woke up again (she licked a drop of his blood).

Adrian Tooms appeared in an empty cell, mystery that could lead to his release…?

That’s Vulture, he meets Michael and tells him that guys like them should team up and do some good.
