Star Trek the next generation season 3

This is the season when the Husnock species is annihilated because they killed a woman,
Picard is believed to be a God and also pilots the Enterprise, Worf lets a Romulan die while poor defector Jarok kills himself. Ral and Deanna’s passion burns and we see Tasha again in a great episode.
An admiral causes Data’s daughter’s death and Vash causes trouble but Picard likes her anyway. I like Tam and Tin man, and Barclay is always fun. Sarek and the Borg both join with Picard, in their different ways…

Intro: “Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission, to explore strange new world, to seek out new life and new civilizations to boldly go where no one has gone before”
Starring Patrick Stewart as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard
Jonathan Frakes as Cmdr. William Riker
Also starring
LeVar Burton as Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge
Michael Dorn as Lieutenant Worf
Gates McFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher
Marina Sirtis as Counselor Deanna Troi
Brent Spiner as Lt. Commander Data
Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher

Special guest star Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan in ep 1-6-13-15-16-21-26

1. Evolution
ITA Evoluzione
43125.8 Wesley fell asleep while doing a project and left a jar open.
They have a guest, dr Paul Stubbs, for an astronomical research mission, for there will be a “massive stellar explosion”. Beverly is worried that Wesley is ‘too’ responsible, and doesn’t seem to have fun as all 17-y-o- should. Guinan has had ‘husbands’.
Wesley was studying nanotechnology, but his nanites got out. He says it was just a science project, harmless. Guinan: “a doctor friend once said the same thing to me. Frankenstein was his name”.
He confesses to his mom and then to the officers. He only had a couple, but they evolved and multiplied in the computer, and now they’re so many they’re like a new species; the astronomer would like to kill them all because they’re interfering with his life’s work, causing trouble to the ship’s computer, but Picard wants to communicate. They enter Data’s hand and speak through him, and say that they’re so evolved now that the ship’s too small for them and they want to leave. The Enterprise leaves them on a nearby planet and can finally launch the probe to collect data from the explosion, just in time.

2- The ensigns of command
ITA Le insegne del comando
O’Brien is playing a cello or something??? Data plays the violin, but his fellow musicians say he lacks soul. Picard and Crusher go to listen anyway, until he’s called. The elusive Sheliak, unheard of for like a century, say there are humans on a planet they’re about to colonize. There’s radiation on that planet so Data goes down to evacuate whoever is there. Apparently there are more than 15000 people now, been there 90 years and the leader refuses to leave considering that planet as theirs. The Sheliak won’t give them more time. Data gives a demonstration of what a simple weapon can do, and tells him that things can be replaced, lives can not. Picard finds a cunning loophole in the treaty to get more time. Marjorie is sad to see Data go away.

3-
ITA I sopravvissuti
43152.4 There was a distress call from a colony that’s been attacked. They find that everyone’s dead but Kevin and his wife Rishon. A ship appears and they follow it but soon come back. When Deanna tried to sense Kevin and Rishon, a music she’s never heard before enters her head and never leaves her for a second, driving her almost to insanity.
The next time the ship appears it attacks and they go away for a while but come back again. Picard thinks the ship is following Kevin’s wishes to make them go away an tells him he’ll stay as long as they’re alive. As Picard expected, the ship appears again and shoots to destroy Kevin’s house. Picard expected this, and waits till the house reappears, and talks to Kevin to get to the truth: Kevin was the only one who refused to fight, Rishon did, and she diedlike all the others. Kevin has lived as a human for 50 years, but he’s not, he’s a “Douwd, an immortal being of disguises and false surroundings”, he’s “lived in this galaxy for many thousands of years” and when he fell in love with Rishon he lived with her as a human. The colony was attacked by a Husnock ship. Rishon went to fight and died. Kevin wished he could have died with her but couldn’t, and in his grief he lost his mind and destroyed the Husnock, not just the ship but all of them, everywhere. “Is the love of a woman worth the destruction of an entire species?”. Now that he’s freed Deanna’s mind, Picard thinks that “he should be left alone” and they go away.

4- Who watches the watchers
ITA Prima direttiva
Three scientists are studying the Mintakans, “proto-Vulcan humanoids at the Bronze Age level”, but their holo-disguise fails and they’re seen before Riker’s team can repair it. A man sees them, almost dies on a fall so Beverly heals him aboard the Enterprise and he hears Picard giving orders. Deanna and Riker go on the planet to look for one of the scientists and discover that the man’s obliviation didn’t work and he’s telling everyone of an “overseer” that brought him back to life called The Picard. They try to diffuse the situation but the Mintakans find Palmer (and Barron insists on saving him and hell to the Prime Directive… what a crap scientist). Troi is held hostage when Riker escapes with Palmer. The Mintakans think of The Picard, the ‘overseer’, as a God. They bring Nuria, the leader, on board to explain to her that he’s not a God. She believes him, but the man they healed doesn’t. after he comes down to get Troi back, because he wants his dead wife back.
Picard lets him shoot him with an arrow to prove that he’s mortal. When he leaves, Nuria and her people give him a souvenir, to remember them by.

5- The bonding
ITA Il vincolo
Caves show signs of the Koinonians but a woman dies and Worf feels responsible.
43198.7 She had a 12-y-o son who is now an orphan. The energy beings on the planet feel responsible for this too and send a fake woman to take Jeremy on the planet, to raise him as her mother, but the crew intervenes and shows him the truth, that she’s not his real mother and he must accept this. Wesley also talks to him, and Worf does with him the bonding ritual. He’s an orphan as well, since he was six, and now they’ll be brothers - although I don’t think we’ll ever hear anything ore about him…

6- Booby trap
ITA Trappola spaziale
43205.6 Geordi’s date with Christi doesn’t go well.
Many years ago there was a battle between the Menthars and Promellians, to their extinction and now there’s only space ruins. Picard and a team explore an ancient ship still intact, but then when the Enterprise tries to leave, they can’t. Radiation are sucking their ship’s energy. Geordi works on the holodeck with a holographic Leah Brahms who wrote the book on propulsion. Their first idea is to give the ship over to the computer to make super fast adjustments while they’re moving, but the simulations are discouraging. His last idea is to guide it manually, shutting down all power on the ship, so Picard takes the helm and slowly moves the hip around the debris. And is excellent, of course.
They destroy the ship and the surrounding trap and leave. Geordi is sad to end the Leah program.

7- The enemy
ITA Il nemico
43349.2 A distress signal leads them “to the discovery of a crashed Romulan vessel on the surface of Galorndon Core” . Riker and Worf go back up with an injured Romulan, but Geordi falls and is left behind because of an electrical storm and once again Wesley is the one with an idea on how to reach him, but Geordi is knocked down by another Romulan on the planet Bochra, only to be hit by falling rocks and need Geordi’s help himself.
The Romulan on the ship need a blood donation and the only compatible one is Worf, who hates them all for the death of his parents, and refuses. Geordi and Bochra finally agree to work together and are beamed aboard the Enterprise and are saved; at the risk of a war with the Romulan ship come to get them.

8- The price
ITA Tunnel conteso
Troi would like a “real chocolate sundae”. They all look at a new wormhole, the only stable one, discovered by the Barzan people and now for sale. There is also Devinoni Ral, a ‘hired gun’ that this time represents the Chrysalians.
43385.6 It’s to the Gamma Quadrant. Devinoni Ral seduces Troi really too easily *rollingeyes* Both Picard and the Ferengi launch a shuttle to get better readings on the wormhole, and they end up in the Delta Quadrant instead of Gamma. They warn the stubborn Ferengi, then go back while they remain stranded there.
Ral is one quarter Betazoid. Troi thinks Ral is not honest not telling everyone that he’s an empath. He reaches a deal with the Barzans before hearing the return of the shuttles, and Troi reveals Ral’s powers and manipulations to everyone. Then the shuttle returns, with the news that the wormhole is only stable on this side but the other end “shifts positions periodically” and eventually both ends will be unstable. Ral asks Troi to go away with him but of course she won’t leave the Enterprise.

9- The vengeance factor
ITA  Fattore vendetta
43421.9 It seems like “The Gatherers” attack a research ship. To stop their raids, the Enterprise asks the help of “the Sovereign of Acamar III”, Marouk. She joins them with her ‘cook’ Yuta. The Enterprise manages to get Marouk and the gatherers to talk. The clan wars are over now and they could go back home… what nobody knows is that Yuta is holding on to the clan hate and kills a man. Her aging was slowed so she could reach them all so Riker has to kill her to stop her from killing the gatherer’s leader.

10- The defector
ITA Il traditore
Picard teaches Data to act Shakespeare.
43462.5 A Romulan asks for their help, he says he’s a defector with vital information for them. He says there’s a risk of a war between their species. He destroys his own ship so they can’t study it. He wants to stop a war, does not think himself a traitor. He’s Admiral Jarok and wanted a better future for his daughter, but his government gave him false information to test him, and to lure the Enterprise inside the Neutral Zone, but Picard didn’t come alone and asked for the help of some Klingon ships that stayed cloaked until necessary. Realising that he gave up his family and his home for nothing, Jarok kills himself.

11- The hunted
ITA I perseguitati
43489.2 Angosia III wants to join the Federation. A prisoner escapes Lunar V so the Enterprise offers its help and learns that he was once a soldier, modified to win, and because of this it was difficult for them to reintegrate in society, so they were put on Lunar V and can’t leave. He was a good man before, but now his conditioning has made him kill more than once. The Enterprise caught him but he escapes, he frees other prisoners and together they go back to their world. Picard leaves, because what the government, the ‘people’ did was wrong, they must be helped so they can have a life. They become violent only when their life is at stake, otherwise they don’t kill unprovoked.

12- The high ground
ITA I terroristi di Rutia
43510.7 While on the planet, there’s an explosion and Crusher rushes to help. Soon, she’s kidnapped by the terrorists. They use a device to move undetected but it proves lethal to whoever uses it. Data mentions examples when terrorism was successful - but only a couple, there could be more… - anyway, his examples were “the independence of the Mexican state from Spain, the Irish Unification of 2024”. The terrorists now plan to destroy the Enterprise because they helped the government. In trying to do so, they kidnap Picard. They killed three people, though. The terrorists want the Federation involved, so that talks might finally start. But, the Enterprise finds them and beam down to their hide-out. They are freed and go away.
A child grabs a weapon but hesitates and doesn’t shoot, he clearly didn’t want to. Riker: “maybe the end begins with one boy putting down his gun”. A nice line. Just a line, but nice.

13- Dé jà Q
ITA Dé jà Q
43539.1  Q suddenly appears nude on the bridge so they think it’s his fault if a world’s moon is about to fall. Q says instead that he’s “no longer a member of the Continuum” because his “superiors” punished him for spreading “chaos through the universe”. He has no powers now. He asked to be human and to be sent here because, he says, Picard is the closest thing to a friend he has… he’s put in a cell and he’s the one who says “the story of the boy who cried Worf”. He offers to help because “you only dislike me. There are others in the cosmos who truly despise me”. To prove he’s human, Guinan stabs his hand with a fork  When the Calamarain learn he has no power, they enter the ship and surround him for a bit, so that’s why he came here, to be protected. When the Calamarains attack, Data is damaged saving him. Q does not like being human at all, he’s scared, “a coward”, he’s miserable, and he “can’t go on this way” so he takes a shuttle and goes away, but the Enterprise tries to shield him from the Calamarains. Another Q, the one who had him thrown out because tired of apologising for him, gives him his powers back because he committed a selfless act. So he goes back to express his thanks. He has Data experience laugh and puts the moon correctly back.

14- A matter of perspective
ITA Punti di vista
Picard attends a class painting a live model with two other officers; Data praises the other two but not Picard
43610.4 Riker was at a station with Dr Apgar, and when he leaves the station explodes killing Apgar. Riker is arrested for murder. Picard won’t let him go and insists the interrogation happen on board. They use the holodeck to recreate everything and Picard asks for Troi’s presence.
Riker says Apgar’s wife Manua insisted he stayed over and flirted with him, and that Apgar was antagonistic and so he left. The chief inspector thinks Riker fired at him before leaving.
Apgar’s wife’s version shows that Riker flirted with her and insisted on staying over, and punched and threatened the doctor. Troi feels sincerity from both of them: “it is the truth as each of you remembers it”. The assistant Tayna explains what the doctor told her - which shows Apgar beating Riker and Riker threatening to kill him. There are radiation on the ship so they find out what happened. The doctor wanted to change the power source the Federation was interested in, into weapons that he could sell to make money, to give his wife riches. So he decided to kill Riker but he made a mistake and died. The chief inspector hears this and calls it new evidence, and apologizes… just like that.

15- Yesterday’s Enterprise
ITA L’enterprise del passato
Guinan gives Worf prune juice to try and he loves it: “warrior’s drink”; when something weird appears outside, Guinan goes “no…”.
“Military log, combat-date 43625.2”. They see the Enterprise C approaching, a model from the past, and we can see that it’s all different, starting with the presence of Tasha. The C is damaged so they help, but Picard says to avoid any mentions of their ship or their time, and then Beverly goes “I’m going to have to get her back to the Enterprise”… did Riker not warn her or it’s too difficult to understand? *rollingeyes*
Only 125 are still  alive. Guinan talks to Picard because “this is all wrong, this is not the way it’s supposed to be”. Picard thinks they’re at war - therefore there’s no children on the ship, but she insists “we’re not supposed to be”. One of the best episodes, this one. And with a great female captain, she has little space but I like this captain Garrett.
When Captain Garrett says they answered an emergency signal from a Klingon outpost, they realise that such a thing could have been very important, but they got surrounded. It was the Romulans, they attacked the outpost and then the Ent-C. Picard is not sure what to do, but Guinan is sure. She can’t explain much, but all her being knows that this reality is wrong and there should not be a war. There’s much nobody knows about her species but they’ve known each other a long time and Picard trusts her. He explains to his officers and to Garrett his decision, also telling her that in this time they would not be of any help because the war is basically lost, but by going back they could avoid the deaths of billions. The whole crew of a federation ship dying while trying to defend a Klingon outpost could bring honor to Starfleet and facilitate the signing of a treaty. 20 years of war could be avoided. Tasha talks to Guinan and upon learning that she should be dead, and of a pointless death, she asks to join the Ent-C. The Ent-D fights three Klingon hips to let them go back, and when Riker is killed, Picard jumps to the back - what’s usually Worf’s station - and keeps fighting until they go back and all is well and nobody remembers anything. I loved hero-Picard.

16- The Offspring.
ITA La figlia di Data
43657.0 Riker is away on personal leave. Data has a personal project: LAL, who calls him father. He’s made a child. Lal has a positronic brain similar to Data’s. He began “programming it” at a cybernetics conference. It looks like a robot at first because Data wants it to choose the sex and species, and it happens very soon a human female…
The Federation wants to study Lal, Picard is upset at first then tries to help Data’s side. Data works with her to teach her things and perfect her brain - compared to other parents though, Data has an advantage, he can press a button to deactivate her when Lal starts asking too many questions
Lal starts working with Guinan and when Riker is back, he starts flirting, she kisses him after seeing a couple doing it and Data questions his intentions  Riker runs away.
Admiral Haftel wants to take Lal away but Lal clearly states she wants to stay here. Lal starts acting strangely because sh ‘feels scared’. Against both Lal and Data’s wishes, the Admiral orders her transfer. Lal’s emotions cause her to malfunction and however much Data and Haftel try to correct her system, she ‘dies’. Data has kept her memories in himself.

17- Sins of the father
ITA I peccati del padre.
43685.2 “As part of an exchange program” a Klingon officer comes to work on the Ent. Commander Kurn. Kurn has come to watch Worf for a very specific reason. He’s Worf’s younger brother, who was only a year old when the family left for Khitomer and never returned. Now the Klingons have judged their father Mogh a traitor, so Worf has to issue a challenge to avoid dishonor to his family. The Duras family are the accusers. Picard joins him for the trial. They immediately change course for the first city of the Klingon Imperial Empire, but Worf orders Kurn not to reveal being his brother, but Duras knows about it and he’s badly hurt. Not dead, but Worf has no high hopes on the trial results. Since Kurn is out, Worf asks Picard to be his “Cha’dich” - not Riker. All Ent officers investigate. Picard is attacked too but survives with a little help from Kahlest, the only other survivor. Judge K’mpec knows the truth and it soon comes out: this trial is a farce to cover Duras’ dishonor. The Council always knew but Duras’ family is powerful and this knowledge might cause a civil war on Klingon, it might destroy the Empire. Picard is furious but Worf accepts the dishonor in exchange for his brother’s identity and life.

18- Allegianc
ITA Questione di lealtà
43714.1 While sleeping, Picard is teleported away to some sort of cell where he meets cadet Mitena Haro and Kova Tholl of Mizar II. There’s a fake Picard on the ENT who changes their mission raising suspicions. He also interrupts the poker game of Riker, Troi, Data and Geordi to ask her how much she ship trusts him… he also volunteers for a physical, something he’s never done. He asks Beverly to dinner and they dance, but she sas she likes their relationship as it is and no more… still they kiss and then he dismisses her. In ten-forward he starts to sing and wants everyone to sing along.
The fourth to be abducted is from Chalna: he’s Esoqq, meaning fighter. Haro is from Bolarus IX. The Chalnoth have no laws or government and are rather wild; Esoqq can’t eat whatever jelly thing they’re given, it’s poison to him. Picard and the others try to escape then Picard realises the truth, that they are in a “laboratory maze”, tested how the react under pressure. They are a collaborator, an anarchist, a captain used to give orders and a cadet who swore to obey orders… and the cadet is a fake one, and now Picard refuses to play any longer. Now that they know the truth, the tests are no longer valid so they’re taken back to their places. Riker and Worf disobey fake-Picard and take command when real Picard appars with the alien captors. With a glance, Picard has the aliens trapped by his crew and they don’t like it at all.

19- Captain’s holiday
ITA Le vacanze del capitano
43745.2 Picard is on leave on Risa. Picard refused both Beerly and Riker’s attempts at sending him on vacation, but then Troi said her mom will join them… Picard knew he was part of their scheme, and they’d keep at it until he agreed, so he did.
He bought a thing that Riker asked him so women accost him because they think he’s “seeking Jamaharon”, sex
The Vorgons are from the 27th century, come 300 years in the past because of the Tox Uthat, some legendary thing that really exists and from the future. That is what Vash the woman and Sovak the Ferengi are fighting about. Picard decides to look for it with Vash. “From the moment I met you I knew you were going to be trouble” - “you look like a man who could handle trouble”.
Sovak wants it and also Vash because she’s greedy and unscrupolous and as a Ferengi he likes it. Vash and Picard go on their adventure, spend the time together and sleep together… they reach the right place and start digging, but find nothing. Back at the hotel, Picard catches her when she sneaks out and has her show him the Uthat she did find already. He has Riker destroy it. Vash promises him to ‘try’ and stay out of trouble, and they go their separate ways.

20- Tin man
ITA L’uomo di latta
43779.3 Another ship brings a passenger on the ENT, a mission specialist: Tam Elbrun. Riker knows of him for the “Ghorusda disaster”. Deanna knows him because he was a patient when she was studying psychology. “Tam is a telepath of extraordinary talent”, “he’s a specialist in first contact with new life-forms”. Their mission: a probe has discovered something they call Tin Man, “looks like some kind of ship” but her energy is unknown and it’s believed to be alive and organic. The Romulans are interested too so they must get there first.
Tam can hear everything anyone on the ship thinks and it’s too much for him, that’s why he likes Data, he finds him ‘restful’ and likes to talk to him. When they can see Tin man, the Romulans arrive and head straight for Tin man. Their orders are to get successful contact or destroy Tin man, so Tam sends a telepathic message and Gomtuu, Tin man’s name, destroys the Romulans. Tam says that Tin man comes from far far away and it’s very very old. It hasn’t seen any of its species in thousands of years, and thinks it’s the last of its species and wants to die. It’s like a ship, it has rooms inside, and once it had a crew but they all died. Another Romulan ship wants to destroy Tin man. Tam and Data go inside Tin man, and Tam can communicate telepathically. Gomtuu needs a crew, to take care of someone, so Tam decide to stay there and not go back. Finally all the voices are no more and he can only hear Tin man, and it’s so peaceful… so together they send both ships far away from the supernova so they’re out of trouble, and of course he sent Data back.
Data understands that that is Tam’s place like the ENT is for him.

21- Hollow pursuits
ITA Illusione o realtà?
43807.4 Lt Barclay spends time on the holodeck where he created perfect replicas of other officers so he can feel stronger, and of Deanna flirting with him. In reality, Georgi despairs of him, always late and is so absent-minded. Wesley and Riker call him  Broccoli. Barclay is so anxious when around people, so he hides in the holodecks. Picard is upset hearing Geordi call him Broccoli so they stop, and then he makes the mistake of calling him Mr Broccoli. When he needs him, Geordi enters the holodeck and finds him duelling with a sword. He’s very embarrassed but Geordi accepts to not tell anyone. But, next time he’s late Riker insists on going himself, so both he and Deanna discover his programs. They’re not amused :-p Anyway, there’s serious troubles on the ship and Barclay is the one who finds the answer in time to save them all. He decides to stop with the holodeck and deletes all programs but one. Don’t know which one, only that it is not the one where Troi is the Goddess of Empathy and the men are like musketeers

22- The most toys
ITA Il collezionista
43872.2 While working with Zibalian trader Kivas Fajo, Data is abducted. They make his shuttle explode to make it look like he died. They have an important mission so they leave. Data tries to leave but Fajo is well prepared. He collects things that are unique, only one of a kind. Geordi can’t accept it because he can’t find any reason for the explosion, it doesn’t make sense. He realises that Data didn’t say that his shuttle left the cargo bay in his last trip, then they realise that there was no real emergency, it was forged so that they’dneed to contact Fajo. They rush back.

Fajo burns Data’s uniform so he’s forced to wear the outfit chosen for him. He also complies with Fajo’s wishes when he threatens to kill a woman in his crew in a very painful way, so later she agrees to help him escape. Fajo finds them and kills her. Data is beamed back on board and Fajo is arrested. While Fajo is in a cell, Data goes to tell him that his whole collection has been confiscated.

23- Sarek
ITA Sarek
43917.4 Wesley has a date.
There’s “the first meeting between the Federation and a mysterious race known as the Legarans”. Ambassador Sarek and his wife Perrin come on board. She’s from Earth like his first wife. Picard met him once, at Sarek’s son’s wedding - so we can guess he had a third son…
Sarek is 202 years old, and is unable to meditate. After hearing the concert they played for him, he had a tear on his face. There are many episodes on the ship of people fighting for no reason, simply taken over by fury, and there’s even a big brawl in ten-forward. Beverly and Troi think Sarek is the cause. Vulcans after 00 sometimes get Bendii syndrome, with bursts of emotion and irrational anger, and eventually “all emotional control is lost”, they lose the ability to repress their emotions. Since Vulcans have telepathic abilities, Deanna thinks “Sarek may unintentionally be projecting intense emotions onto other people, at random”. Until now, the other Vulcan Sakkath had helped Sarek using “his telepathic skills to reinforce Sarek’s emoitonal control, thus protecting others from the effects of his deterioration” but now Sarek is so stressed it doesn’t work. Picard must address the situation. Perrin strongly rejects his words, and Sarek doesn’t even believe it at first. Picard would councel the meeting but Perrin begs him not to, to let Sarek end his career with pride and dignity, to help him through a mind-meld. Sarek warns him, “while I would gain your stability, you would experience the fierce onslaught of emotions unleashed by my condition” and Vulcan emotions are very intense, Picard would be overwhelmed. They do it anyway, and Beverly stays to monitor Picard. Sarek is finally himself again while Picard cries and yells.
43920 Sarek “has successfully concluded the negotiations with the Legarans” so the ambassador and his party will leave for Vulcan on another ship. They say their goodbyes and Picard tells Perrin that Sarek loves her very much, but she’s always known that.

24- Menage à troi
ITA Il rapimento
43930.7 They’re “in attendance at the biennal trade agreements conference on Betazed, for the first time the Ferengi are present and I reluctantly consented to their boarding the Enterprise for the closing reception”. Betazoids can’t read Ferengi’s minds.
Lwaxana does not like it when a Ferengi makes advances, offering to pay her and yells at him her disgust. He’s still mad about her though. Deanna complains to her mother that “the sacred chalice of Rixx is an old clay pot with mold growing inside it”. She finds her mom infuriating, because Lwaxana calls her Little One since she was 5 and keeps thinking that she can’t be happy without a husband and children, how silly.
Deanna and Riker go on leave on Betazed, remembering when they met when she was a student… and then Lwaxana appears to ruin the moment right when Riker was kissing her, and then the Ferengi arrives too and kidnaps the three of them. Held in a cell until they wake up, Daimon Tog has the transporter move the two women without their clothes because “females do not deserve the honor of clothing” and to hear such a one as him talk about honour is laughable…
Wesley passed his “Starfleet written examination”. He must leave for his oral exam, but he stays because he’s the only one that can understand Riker’s subtle message…
Lwaxana tries to keep Tog happy and relaxed… until the doctor convinces him to let him experiment on her! She willingly stays with Tog if he lets Deanna and Riker go, but Deanna is not happy about this. So when the Ent calls, Picard starts playing the game Lwaxana suggested: he must fight to have her back, so they pretend he was a past lover who is still so very jealous, and he starts talking in poetry and then threatening to destroy the Ferengi ship if she’s not returned, and it works, she’s sent back. Now Picard has the Ent go back to Betazed, at warp 9!
Wesley missed his exam but will reapply next year… but Picard has another idea: “I hereby grant you field promotion to full Ensign with all the commensurate responsibilities and privileges of that rank”
From now on, he can wear the red uniform.

25- Tranfigurations
ITA Trasformazioni
43957.2 They’re “charting an unexplored system”. An escape pod crashes on the planet and they save the only one there. He has great regenerative powers. Geordi connected with him for a little bit to help stabilize him, and is changing, more confident. He still likes Christy. O’Brien dislocated his shoulder while kayaking on the holodeck, and their John Doe heals him with a touch. John feels he’s changing and wants to leave, killing Worf in the process and then healing him. His government wants his death because they say he’s a danger to the peace. John is convinced that there’s something important he must complete, but since he’s lost all his memories he can’t say more. John’s people are the Zalkonians. Beverly doesn’t agree that a “disruptive influence” might be a capital offence to justify prison and death. And yet that Sunad is ready to kill them, to destroy the Ent to kill John. Sunad thinks he’s dangerous, evil, and yet we just saw John heal the whole ship. For generations those like him have been considered dangerous but it’s not true. “My species is on the verge of a wondrous evolutionary change, a transmutation beyond our physical being. I am the first of my kind to approach this metamorphosis. They tried to convince us it was a sickness we would never survive, that the pan and energy pulses would kill us. They claimed we were dangerous so they destroyed anyone who exhibited the signs of the transfiguration” and “you saw the mutations as a threat to your authority, you were terrified of something you couldn’t understand”. Some like him could feel that it was nothing evil so four of them escaped. Now he’s the only one who’s completed the metamorphosis. He has great powers and is make of light, sort of. Now they can’t silence him any more, and others will follow.

26- The best of both worlds
ITA L’attacco dei Borg parte 1
43989.1 They find only a big hole where a remote Federation colony should be. Starfleet thikns it’s the Borg. Riker is refusing the third ship offered to him. Lt Cmdr Shelby is eager to take his place but he loves his life here. Finally they ‘engage’ the Borg: “you will lower your shields and prepare to transport yourself aboard our vessel. If you do not cooperaet, we will destroy your ship” and also “you will surrender yourself or we will destroy your ship”. The Ent tries but as Riker says “they have the ability to analyze and adapt”. The Ent quickly loses all shields and their weapons do very little. They run but the Borg follow.
Shelby is very much like Riker once was, all career and action. She should not have gone to speak directly to the captain, but Riker should have taken her advice seriously and at least mention it to the captain.
Guinan tells Picard: “this isn’t the end” because of experience: “when the Borg destroyed my world my people were scattered throughout the universe. We survived. As will humanity survive.  As long as there’s a handful of you to keep the spirit alive you will prevail. Even if it takes a millennium” … not really encouraging, is it?
The Borg abduct Picard and head towards Earth. They tell him “strength is irrelevant. Resistance is futile. We wish to improve ourselves” to them freedom, even death is irrelevant.
Troi has to remind Riker that his place is on the bridge before he agrees to send Shelby on the rescue mission. Picard is “altered” to speak on their behalf and calls himself “Locutus of Borg”. He calls the Ent to ‘threaten them’, and Riker knows they must stop the Borg before they reach Earth, so his last order is Fire!
This was a season ending sure to keep the audience interested  it’d quite a cruel cliffhanger if I had to wait months to see how it ends, but since I don’t I can appreciate it :-)
well, these endings were ok when it was sure that there would be another season, if it’s not sure and maybe it gets cancelled, then it is very very annoying.
