The reboot with Andrew Garfield. Personally I liked the others better, and not just because of the different face, but the whole package, his character, everything. Well, Gwen was alright.
It starts with little Peter with his parents, then something happens and they have to flee, so they leave Peter with Ben and May. Now a teenager, he’s the only decent kid in a school of bullies. He’s smart and likes photography.
He’s in class with Gwen Stacy. He finds an old suitcase of his dad, stops wearing contacts to use his old glasses (they fit, wow).
His dad and dr Connors worked on cross-species genetics, Richard and Mary Parker died in a plane crash, but Dr Connors still works at Oscorp.
He wants to meet Dr Connors, and what do you know, Gwen is head Intern to Dr Connors. She knows he shouldn’t be there but covers for him. He sneaks around where he’s not supposed to, trying to learn about his dad’s research. He touches something and lots of spiders fall on him.
Dr Connors needs time, he says, but people are in a hurry because Norman Osborn is dying.
Peter goes out but one spider was still on him and bites him.
He finds there’s something strange about him when everyone attacks him for no real reason but he comes out on top. At home, he’s sweaty and starving, and finds a dead spider on himself.
He’s so strong he breaks everything he touches. He goes to visit Dr Connors at home, tells him who he is.
Dr Connors tells him how they were called “mad scientists” because nobody believed they could do it, then Richard bred the spiders and things looked up from there.
But then Richard left and took his research with him. Connors thinks now that Peter might help him with it.
At school, Peter can’t resist taunting the bully Flash, humiliating him… Ben is not happy about that. Peter spends a lot of time at Oscorp with Connors and forgets he had to pick up his aunt so she had to walk home alone at night. He has a fight with Ben and leaves.
A man at a store won’t give him what he wanted to buy because he doesn’t have enough cents (only unreasonable to a kid, wait till you have a job like that, and every other kid tells you that same thing…) and Peter says nothing when a man takes all the cash and runs.
Ben was trying to find Peter, tries to stop the armed man and gets shot. Peter starts hunting for teh man with that star tattoo, he makes himself a costume and becomes obsessed with finding him. The police start looking for him as a criminal. May is worried.
Connors is under pressure to start human trials, but he refuses, says they’re not ready, so he’s fired. He might never regrow his arm if they take everything away, so he tries it on himself.
Invited to her home, Peter shows up at Gwen’t room window.
Peter starts an argument with Captain Stacy about the Spider guy. Peter reveals to Gwen that he’s Spiderman.
Connors can now transform into a giant, aggressive lizard.
Gwen tells Peter in’t not his job to protect people, but when he tries to tell Captain Stacy about dr Connors, he is dismissed and mocked about Godzilla.
Connors injects himself again, with more stuff this time.
Peter tells Gwen he has to stop the giant mutant lizard because he helped create it, he gave Connors an equation that made it all possible, something his father was working on and now he understands why he had to keep it secret.
Peter left a camera with his name on it so now Connors knows he is Spiderman and shows up at his school and they fight.
Stan Lee is in a classroom with some classical music with his headphones on, who hears nothing while they are fighting behind him.
Connors releases the green gas in a street when he is shot and cornered by policemen. He then releases much more.
Gwen stays at Oscorp to “cook” the antidote. The police still hunting Spiderman. Capt. Stacy sees his face.
Lizard Connors takes something at Oscorp that will spread the green gas everywhere.
Spiderman is injured, a cop shot him, and the dad of the child he saved sees that on tv and decides to help him with tower cranes…
Spiderman gets at the top of Oscorp tower and fights the lizard. Captain Stacy helps and the lizard gets him.
Peter swaps the green gas for the antidote, so Connors comes back and actually helps Peter.
Captain Stacy dies after making Peter swear to leave Gwen out of his battle and inevitable revenge of his enemies.
Connors is in jail. Peter doesn’t show up at Gwen’s father’s funeral. She goes to him and he’s all “I can’t see you anymore, I can’t” but she gets it: “he made you promise, didn’t he?”
So they cut contacts.
Somehow Flash is a friend now… how did that happen?

The scene mid-credits: Connors is in jail and he speaks with a mysterious man in his cell. The man asks if he told Peter the truth about his father, the answer is No.
