1 - The one with Ross’s new girlfriend

We see Ross arriving with that girl and Rachel saw them and tried to escape but couldn’t, so she meets Julie.

All the guys are waiting for them to arrive together, and are as stunned as she was to meet Julie. Chandler and the other are mortified. Rachel is not taking it too well. So she did a stupid thing and slept with Paolo again. Joey tries to tell her that she should tell him, and she actually tried to, but then he said that he felt great with Julie so she couldn’t do it.

Phoebe gave haircuts to Joey and Chandler, and now Monica wants one too. Phoebe says no but Monica insists until she gives in. Monica told her to do it like Demi Moore, but Phoebe made a mistake thinking it was Dudley Moore.

Chandler needs a tailor, so Joey sends him to his. Chandler turns home very upset because the man ‘touched’ him, and Joey thought it was normal.

2 - The one with the breast milk

Carol and Susan are over with the baby, and Chandler and Joey are very uncomfortable when mommy breastfeeds Ben. Ben is then left in the care of Ross, and Carol left some breastmilk for the baby. Ross is freaked out when Phoebe tastes it, and then Carol and Susan mock him about it.

Julie is actually very nice, but the guys sides with Rachel out of friendship, and Monica is caught between her friend and her brother. When she finds out, Rachel is indeed hurt, thinking she might steal Monica from her too. Eventually Rachel talks to Julie to make an effort.

Joey works as a perfume-guy at a store when a cowboy man ruins it for him by being successful, until they duel (with perfume-bottles) and the new guy sprays a man’s eyes.

3 - The one where Heckles dies

Apparently Chandler broke up with a certain Joan, and they mock him because they say he is fixated on stupid physical reasons.

Mr Heckles of the apartment below theirs dies. He didn’t have any family, so he left everything to the ‘noisy girls’ above. They all go down to the place and discover that you really hear too much noise from there. Chandler is shocked to see many similarities between Heckles and himself.

He wants to change his attitude so he calls Janice again as his last chance to have somebody, but she shows up pregnant and also married.

Rachel keeps a weird lamp from Heckles’ house, and is a bit upset to learn that Monica still thinks of the apartment as ‘her own’ instead of theirs, so she insists on keeping it (well, come on, it IS Monica’s apartment) until Monica ‘accidentally’ breaks it.

Phoebe says she doesn’t believe in evolution, and Ross becomes obsessed with convincing her.

4 - The one with Phoebe's husband

It turns out Phoebe is married, to Duncan. He is gay and from Canada and needed a green card, and she was in love with him and also wanted to help him out. It actually turns out that he’s straight and he needs a divorce to married someone else. He thought he was gay (because he’s an ice dancer??? Not all ice dancers are gay, that’s stupid).

Ross told Rachel he hasn’t had sex with Julie yet, and she encourages him to wait, but then he talks to Joey and changes his mind.

5 - The one with five steaks and an eggplant

Chandler tells them they owe him 62 dollars for Ross’ birthday, and then Monica gets a good promotion (head chef) and wants to go out ‘someplace nice’, and Rachel, Joey and Phoebe just don’t have so much money as the other three of them.

The three poors order water and salad, but then Ross divides the bill equally even if they barely ate. So they speak clearly about it and they all feel bad afterwards.

Then Monica, Ross and Chandler buy the concert tickets for the six of them, which feels like charity. So, only three go to the concert, and even get to meet the band backstage.

The next day they quarrel again about the money, but then it turns out Monica gets fired because she took five steaks from work to bring home for the guys.

6 - The one with the baby on the bus

Monica is upset because Ben cries anytime she picks him up.

Ross is allergic to kiwi and Monica gave them a kiwi pie to eat, so they bring him to the hospital.

Joey and Chandler volunteer to take care of Ben. They take him out and gets confused for a gay couple, but then they forget the baby on a bus. When they go to police to find him again, there are two babies and they are not sure which one it is.

The owner of the Central Perk wants Rachel to fire Phoebe because a new singer, Stephanie, is going to sing there. Rachel tells her, then manages to convince the owner to give her a chance but now Phoebe doesn’t want anymore because she wouldn’t get paid, unlike Stephanie.

At the end, Phoebe teaches Stephanie ‘Smelly cat’.

7 - The one where Ross finds out

Ross and Julie want to get a cat together, and Rachel is again jealous. She thought she was moving on… so she goes on a blind date, gets drunk and leaves Ross a message saying that she is ‘over’ him, and the next day she has a terrible hangover, but when she remembers she tries to stop him from hearing it, but he does and is shocked and goes out, Julie is waiting for him.

Phoebe goes out with Scott, a man who apparently she is not having sex with because he hasn’t made a move in that direction yet, so she talks to him and convinces him, and when she tells Joey he’s like: “let me get this straight, he got you to beg to sleep with him, he got you to say he never has to call you again and he got you thinking this is a great idea? This man is my god!”

They say that Chandler put on weight, so Monica starts training him, but he can’t cope with her rhythm.

The ending: Ross storms in while she’s closing at the Central Perk, and is all upset about that news. He says he didn’t get a cat, that she had no right to tell him that because he was fine before (she was too, before she knew about him) and that she should have told him before (she didn’t know before, and anyway, he had a year, seeing each other every day, and he never said anything), then he storms out and she cries, then he comes back and they kiss.

8 - The one with the list

They tell their friends they kissed.

Ross is still confused because there’s still Julie in the picture, and Phoebe sings a song about a love triangle…

Chandler has a new computer, and they use it to make a pros and cons list to help Ross decide between Rachel and Julie. He breaks up with Julie and hugs Rachel and they are about to go out when she sees her name on the list and won’t leave it alone unless she knows what it is, and she’s hurt when she reads it, with all the cons in there so they have a big fight.

Monica is desperate for a job.

9 - The one with Phoebe's dad

Since Monica doesn’t have a job, instead to giving money as tips she bakes cookies for everyone. The newspaper and the mailman delivery guy was clearly angry about that.

Ross still tries to make peace with Rachel.

Phoebe is upset because she learns that her mother lied to her, and gave her a picture of a random guy (the one that comes with the frame) and told her he was her father. She speaks to her grandma and finds little clues about her real father, but since Phoebe won’t let it go, her grandma tells her the exact address, it’s a two-hour drive, and Phoebe takes her grandma’s cab. When they arrive, Phoebe doesn’t have the courage to go in.

There’s a Christmas party at Monica’s , but the radiator is broken and it’s hot as hell, but the super Mr Treeger says it can’t be repaired before Tuesday. Ross tips him 100$, but actually the man appreciated the cookies, he just can’t find an open shop before Tuesday (it is Christmas after all).

Chandler, Joey and Phoebe get back to the party that is already midnight, and just like nothing he turns the radiator off.

10 - The one with Russ

Joey receives his first reviews ever, but both his performance and the play he was in are trashed as awful. He’s very much discouraged. Then there’s an important audition but he can get the part if he sleeps with her. She’s good-looking alright, but he wanted it for his ‘talent’… so he says no, but then he’s offered a bigger part and he accepts, so he’ll be a recurrent character in a tv show, “Days of our lives”.

Monica is back with Fun Bobby and everybody loves him, but then they realise that he has a drinking problem. Monica is worried, so he promises her to quit drinking. He does, but then he’s no fun anymore. Luckily, he dumps her.

Rachel goes on a date with a guy that is very similar to Ross. Very similar, so much so that after she dumps him, he meets Julie and *sparks-sparks

11 - The one with the lesbian wedding

Carol and Susan wants to get married and they invite him. They ask Monica to be the caterer.

They watch Joey’s first episode together.

A client died on Phoebe’s massage table, and she thinks the spirit went into her. The woman wanted to see everything before she died, that’s her unfinished business.

Rachel’s mom comes to visit, and she seems very supportive, then it turns out she might want a divorce.

Ross doesn’t want to go to the wedding, but then Carol is sad because her parents won’t come to it, and Susan said let’s do it anyway, but Carol is almost about to call off the wedding but Ross convinces her otherwise.

At the wedding, Monica brings little Ben, Susan is with her parents, and Carol with Ross. That’s when Phoebe’s lady-spirit goes away, having seen everything.

Susan is grateful and dances with him.

12 - The one after the superbowl: part 1

Joey receives fanmail, from a woman who actually hand-delivered it to his apartment. She even comes knocking, and she looks gorgeous. She’s crazy and thinks he’s his character, but he goes out with her anyway. She totally thinks it is all real. In the end, he has to end it, pretending to be Drake’s evil twin.

Marcel is in a commercial, and at first they think it’s just a similar monkey, but then the zoo says he died. Then a worker there says he didn’t, he was stolen. Marcel is shooting a movie in New York, so they all go and sing for him so he recognises them.

Phoebe plays for children, but her songs are all death-themed or about adult stuff, so she’s fired. Kids come to the Central Perk to hear  ‘the lady who sings the truth’.

13 - The one after the superbowl: part 2

Monica is excited to see Van Damme, but then he asks Rachel out. She goes then the two girls fight about it, a lot, it gets nasty and only Phoebe stops them.

Chandler meets a girl he met in school, one he made fun of, but then they see each other a few times she leaves him in a restaurant’s bathroom with nothing on but her panties, in revenge for when he showed everyone her underpants in fourth grade.

Joey gets a part in Marcel’s movie, as a virus victim, a dead guy.

14 - The one with the prom video

Joey is making money now so he gives some money back to Chandler, and also a gift, a gold bracelet. He hates it, and Joey is hurt when he finds out. Then Chandler loses it so he buys another one then finds the old one and gives it to Joey.

Rachel meets another guy and Ross sends him away, so she tells him they’ll never be together.

Monica wants to ask her parents for money but at the end she just has to accept Ross’ help, then they watch the stuff that her parents brought over after clearing out her room to turn it into a gym.

They watch their prom video and they all discover that Ross wanted to take her to the prom when her date was so late they thought he wouldn’t show up. Rachel is moved and kisses him.

15 - The one where Ross and Rachel... you know

Joey still works for the television show so he buys two pushy-chairs to put in front of the tv.

Rachel has her first official date with Ross, but when they kiss she keeps laughing. Next time, he has a museum emergency so they go there, instead of going to dinner. When he’s done it’s too late to go out so he improvises a picnic and this time when they kiss she doesn’t laugh.

Phoebe helps Monica waitressing, and Monica meets again Dr Burke who recently  divorced. She likes him a lot. She sees him the next day and they kiss. They start dating. He’s actually already a grandpa, he’s twenty-one years older than her, but she really like him.

Joey and Chandler spend many hours on those chairs watching tv.

16 - The one where Joey moves out

Phoebe and Rachel want to get a tattoo, but Ross doesn’t like tattooes.

At Monica’s dad’s birthday party, Richard goes with her. Nobody knows yet of Richard and Monica’s relationship, so she has to endure her mom talking to another woman of the twinkie the man is seeing, while Ross has to endure his dad sort of making vulgar jokes about this new toy Richard got himself for his midlife crisis. Monica then hears her dad saying she’s never seen Richard so happy, and since she’s crazy about him she tells her mom and dad.

Joey is interesting in getting the apartment of someone who works in his show, since he is moving to a bigger place. Chandler is upset, they fight, but then they apologise, but Joey still took the place. He moves out.

17 - The one where Eddie moves in

Joey shows the guys his new place (that unfortunately he decorated himself). They actually feel lonely by themselves, and Joey thinks he might want to go back, but Ross told Chandler there was  no way Joey would move back, so he got a new roommate, Eddie.

Phoebe had an offer from a producer to make a video of ‘Smelly cat’. When she shows them the video afterwards, they are appalled to hear another voice, Phoebe doesn’t realise it at first but then finds out someone else is singing in that video.

Monica is annoyed that Ross now is always in her apartment. They finally talk about it and make peace, Ross actually thought they were having fun, because he always got his way.

18 - The one where Dr. Ramoray dies

Eddie is a bit weird, scary weird.

Joey said in an interview that he writes a lot of his own lines, so the writers get mad and write him off the show. He didn’t tell anyone and they are shocked when they see it on tv.

Monica and Richard talk about their past relationships, and so do Rachel and Ross.

19 - The one where Eddie won't go

Chandler is freaked out and wants Eddie out of the house, but the next day Eddie is still there. He tries and tries again, but Eddie won’t leave him alone, so he changes the lock and has Joey move back in.

Joey wish for a good job after the big role he had before, and wants to reject a two-line part, but now he’s full of debts and then Gunther at the Central Perk tells him that he was once on “All my children”, another show, so he finally takes that audition. Didn’t get the job though. He has to sell all his stuff (or give it back, I guess, because he gets what he paid for… which is weird, did he pay for all that or only promised to pay?) and Ross buys him the ceramic dog.

The girls read a book about men stealing women’s wind. They end up fighting among themselves though.

20 - The one where Old Yeller dies

Phoebe is upset to know the ending of Old Yeller, her mom never let her see it and she thought it was a happy movie.

Joey and Chandler have an extra ticket for a game and Monica wants them to take Richard; they do and they have a great time and like Richard a lot. They spend a lot of time together but then Richard learns (from Joey) that they see him as a dad more than just another guy.

Ross gets to take care of Ben for a whole weekend. He scares Rachel a bit telling her all he has planned for the rest of their lives together, but then they keep Ben together and Ben says his first words, “hi” and “bye”…

21 - The one with the bullies

Phoebe thinks again of going to see her father. Joey and Rachel go with her this time. She’s attacked by a dog and hides in the car, and when she finally thinks of going home she runs over the dog and takes it to the vet. She brings it back and hopes to meet her father this time, but learns that he left four years ago. She meets Frank jr though, and now she has a brother.

Two ‘mean guys at the coffee house’ took Chandler’s hat. They show up again and act like bullies, so Ross and Chandler have coffee at home but once is enough and they try again to stand up to them. They go back and drink their coffee really fast but still meet the bullies right outside, and they talk about fighting, so they take off watches and keys and agree on not eating faces waist-down, but before they can get to the actual fighting Chandler sees two guys stealing their stuff, so all four run after them and they are sort of ok after that.

Monica invests her money in the stock market because she only found a job at a horrible place, but she loses it. Rachel has no money to lend her so she has to take that job where she has to dress up with fake boobs and a blonde wig and dance whenever anyone (like Chandler or the guys) puts on a song.

22 - The one with the two parties

It’s Rachel’s birthday and the guys want a party, but they can’t invite her parents together because they keep fighting and talking about their divorce. Monica already invited her mom, but then her father shows up uninvited too. The guys try hard to keep them separate and then they have to stage two parties, one at Monica’s apartment with the mom, and one at Chander’s place with the father.

Phoebe helps people sneak out from Monica’s party to the one across the hall, because the boys’ party is more fun.

Rachel has to listen to her parents separately while they complain and complain about the other. At the end, Joey resorts to kissing the mother to avoid the two of them seeing each other.

23 - The one with the chicken pox

Phoebe’s friend Ryan who is in the navy is coming to New York. They don’t see each other for a long time and then he shows up and they have a few days of sex, now he’ll stay here for two weeks, but since Ben got chicken pox, Phoebe got it too (the others already had it). Problem is, he never did it either, so he gets it too.

Chandler offers Joey a job telling him to just act, pretending to be a processor, and Joey does, also building a fake life for his character, with kids and all. He goes so far that Chandler wants to fire him; he can’t but they fight and Joey starts looking for another job.

Monica shows Richard all her neurotic habits.

24 - The one with Barry and Mindy's wedding

Joey must kiss a man for an audition, and the director Warren Beatty said he was a bad kisser so he needs to practice kissing with men. Both Ross and Chandler say no to that.

Chandler spent a whole night talking on the internet with a woman and loved it. Phoebe wonders how she is, and if she’s even a girl or maybe a guy, but it turns out she is a woman, and a married one at that. He’s shocked and hurt, but she keeps messaging him and eventually asks to meet him, so they set a date at the Central Perk, and Janice shows up, and they kiss.

Monica and Richard have a serious discussion on their future, and it turns out Richard doesn’t want any more children. He had all that, children and grandchildren, but now he’s too old for that and doesn’t want to start all over. She tries to deal with that, but children are too important for her, and she can’t let it go, so he tells her that he’ll do it for her, anything not to lose her, but it’s very very clear he doesn’t really want children at all, so even if they do love each other, they break up.

Rachel wears the pink dress and goes to Barry and Mindy’s wedding. It turns out his parents told everyone she had syphilis when she left him. It’s a very embarrassing thing altogether for her.
