Uncharted - 2022

 Nice, not bad at all. Taken from a videogame, which is important because things that would be absurd in another movie, here they are not because in a video-game-reality they just happen.

So, it is quite entertaining, lots of action and a good enough cast. 

Details:

Nate and his older brother are orphans, descendants of Sir Francis Drake the pirate.

As kids, they were caught stealing, so the brother runs away saying he’ll come back for him.

As an adult, Nate is alone, works as a bartender but still steals when he’s got the chance.

Victor “Sully” Sullivan approaches him for a job. Nate ignores him at first but then he realises the bracelet he stole is gone from his pocket, replaced by Victor’s card.

Nate enters his apartment and sees the valuable map of the world that his brother tried to steal as a kid.  Victor knows his brother Sam. Nate is not surprised to hear Sam disappeared on him too.

Eventually Nate agrees to the adventure to find some lost treasure, gold.

First, Nate helps Victor steal an important artefact from an auction house. To do that, he has to avoid a Scottish guard - that scene was the funniest point of the movie, the guy threatening him and he doesn’t get a word of it all :lol.

He sort of jumps, hangs off the big chandelier-thing there, breaks it all. That’s distraction enough and Victor can steal it, leaving Nate to escape by himself.

Rich Moncada tried to buy the cross himself.

They go to Spain, where Chloe has the other “key”. She tries to steal their cross and go alone, but Nate figured out something she doesn’t know so they go on together. Nate takes them to a church where he finds the clues and opens the secret passage, so they need to separate. Sully stays outside while Nate goes down the church with Chloe because he likes her. 

Jo, who has a history with Sully but works for Moncada, fights Sully but he makes it in time to help them from drowning down there. Next Sully has to throw them his own ‘key’, the cross from the auction - they were using the one she had. They find lots of salt and a map. 

Nate saved her life when she almost drowned, but now Chloe points her gun at him then she knocks him down, takes the map and the keys and goes away. 

When Sully finds him, Nate asks about his brother Sam because Chloe hinted something, Sully tells him that Sam died, he got shot by Jo and Sully got Nate involved because he thought he might know something. Now Nate leaves, and we see that Chloe was working for Moncada all along. 

Jo also killed Moncada’s father, on the son’s orders, because of money.

Nate chooses to finish this, and then he and Sully will go “their separate ways”. They sneak into Moncada’s plane. Jo kills Moncada then she and her men look for Chloe to kill her too. Sully takes a parachute but Nate won’t listen to him and instead he confronts Jo openly for killing his brother.

Sully flies out with the map, Nate ends up hanging outside the plane like we saw him at the beginning of the movie. Chloe jumps off on a car and he freefalls, but then they’re together again and they make it, and are “somewhere in the Banda sea” and end up at a tourist beach where Nate uses Sully’s card to pay.

Nate figures out the clues Sam sent him with some postcards then leaves the wrong coordinates for Chloe to find and when she goes without him, he goes to the right ones. Jo and her men see him and follow him…

Nate finds two old pirate ships. Sully is inside one of them but hasn’t found the gold. Nate finds it for him.

Jo Braddock and her men arrive to see Magellan’s ships, so they hide.

The men fly the ships out with Nate and Sully still inside, although they don’t know that.

Nate and Sully come out and fight the men there pirate-style. Sully then climbs up to ‘hijack’ the helicopter, to fly the ship where he wants. Jo sees that and she follows him. 

She scottish guy makes the two ship crash. Nate fights some more then he shoots a cannon at the other helicopter and it was so close he hits it, so it’s one helicopter and ship gone, but Jo jumped on theirs to save herself.

She anchors the ship and fights Nate. Sully saves Nate instead of his gold. 

Jo is at sea with the ship upon her, but the ship sinks and the Philippines people are coming, so Nate and Sully fly away. 

Still, Nate had taken a few pieces of gold to console Sully with.

Before the credits, we see that Sam is not dead, but in a cell somewhere.

Scene after the visual credits but before the words-credits: Nate and Sully meet again to do something together, only Sully is late because he brought his cat along, Mr Whiskers.

Before they can go, someone stops them, Nate raises his hands but we don’t see what they see.

I love that he brought his cat, brilliant. He didn’t even want a cat at first, then he started worrying about him when he was away, and now he takes him anywhere… :lol: cats can charm anyone.
